Well, okay, a straight-haired friend recommended Tasha's to me, but that didn't guarantee that someone who cut her straight hair well could handle my curly mop. I ended up seeing Coral (who also cut my friend's hair) and she absolutely nailed it. I wanted a drastically different, very short haircut, and she was super excited to try something new. I had brought in a photo for her to reference, which she used, but she also adjusted the style to suit my face better. The haircut is absolutely fantastic, and I've stuck with it for several months now (a big deal, given that I was uncertain about it when I cut it at first). I've never had a hairstyle that I can tame in 30 seconds in the morning. It's amazing and I love it. I've gone back to see Coral several times since then and she's always been reliable. She's also a total sweetheart. The salon itself is pretty, very spacious, and has all the professional equipment you would expect (my personal favorite being hair dryers hanging from the ceiling - I'm easily amused). They also sell a lot of hair and general beauty products there. They take appointments, but I've never had to wait more than a day or two, and they usually get me in the same day. They have a nice waiting area with comfy couches. It's just generally a really comfortable place to be - everyone is super friendly and will chat with you, and a couple of times there have been kids/younger siblings running around, which I thought made the place really friendly and relaxing. It's not a silent, super-fancy, stick-up-the-butt salon, and I wouldn't want it to be. I was also VERY pleased with the price. I've spent absurd amounts of money in search of a good haircut with a stylist who actually knows curly hair. At Tasha's, I've never paid more than $25, even when they increased their prices a few months ago. I may be paying a little bit less because my hair is so short and I've never needed a blow-dry (another benefit of having short hair! WHOO!) For the friendly service and great results, it's an absolute steal. I can't recommend it enough.

I ended up walking out of the salon with only brown hair because she said "the dark color didn't take". She did offer to darken the top half and make it darker. After getting home and taking a closer look and realizing that the blonde wasn't there either I told Nicole I wanted the blonde fixed also since I didn't want brown and black hair I wanted blonde and brown. Nicole then told me she "did what she could" and the only way she'd fix it is for $120 more! Private lot with plenty of spaces. Upon entering, one of two girls advised that it would be about a 15 minute wait, so I agreed and sat. It probably took 30 minutes before I was told to sit in this black reclined chair. Both of the girls were busy with clients, so I didn't mind about the wait that much. The eyebrow process was one of the better ones I've been to. In other words, my eyebrows were symmetric. In addition, the wax glue is not hot at all compared to other places I've been to. I initially questioned if she was actually waxing my eyebrows. She took her time and picked at my hair wherever she needed to. My eyebrows turned out a bit thinner than I wanted but thank goodness for eyebrow products. Aside from waxing, Bella Vita offers massages, facials, hair color, hair perm, hair extension, hair up do, and makeup. Just be sure to make an appointment by calling in advance so you don't have to wait. Lastly, prices depend on length of hair like other hair salons!

Serendipity Salon was happy to ask their stylists if anyone could accommodate a walk-in and lucky for me Billy happened to have a window of time that could fit me in. Billy was so nice to talk to with just the right amount of conversation, not too much and not silent. Serendipity Salon is clean and fresh. All the staff were smiling and greeted people with a warm "hello". I would highly recommend Serendipity Salon and especially the stylist, Billy. I had to bring her somewhere else to fix it as the damage they caused was beyond what I could have trusted them to repair. We're now having to to visit another salon once a month as it's a slow and expensive reversal process. I wrote asking for a refund, they responded with questions on what my daughters name was and who did her hair- then completely ignore me when I answered. 110% do not recommend.
