England was in a World Cup consolation match against Costa Rica. Not a huge crowd but it seemed to have more energy and people than a pub right next door. Ordering was a bit tough initially to figure out... but I went up to the bar and ordered both food and our drinks. It was a bit loud with the game on that it made it hard to hear what the bartender was asking me. That said, we both had fish and chips and I had an India Pale Ale that is made in-house. Everything was excellent! My favorite part was when Goose, one of the bartenders, came to our table to ask how the food was and we got into a great conversation about British ales. Who knows... we might go back again tonight when he opens up a keg of Abbott's Ale...

The pub's split into two sections, although only the right-hand section was open when we visited. Inside there's a small bar, a good spattering of seats and a little fireplace. The bar had four guest beers on the blackboard, suggesting a changing variety over the weeks. The menu was well laid-out, with dishes separated by price rather than category. The food was well presented and tasty. I had the burger (juicy and delicious) which came with a mountain of fries. No complaints at all really.
