My family had been here before for Sunday morning service. I always work Sunday morning so this was…read moremy first visit . It was 9 am service on Easter. Parking was easy . We were there ten minutes before 9 am . It was a full amount of people , every seat was taken by 9 am . The music started , great musicians but it was extremely loud . I'm too sensitive to sound this early , probably bring ear plugs next time . The music went on for 30 minutes. Then Pastor Pat started his sermon . He ended at 10 am and then the service was over . Service was an hour . We then walked outside to the large outdoor area. Set up with games and a coffee donut stand . It was a different format than any church I've been too but in a good way . It was a great start to a Happy Easter !

I was raised in the church and I have had both very good experiences and really bad ones. Enough…read morewhere I am very picky about my place of worship. I have lived in San Marcos my entire life, and occasionally have attended most of the well known ones around at one point or another. A couple years ago a friend invited me here. I have gone off and on throughout the years, never being really truly faithful to one establishment. That is until recently. You see I need a place that lets anyone through their doors. Here is what I have seen that makes me feel like its an open door policy here. The homeless guy that never comes all the way in but sits in the courtyard with his cup of coffee and bible each Sunday (they have a set spot up in the fall and winter time for free coffee) The people in wheelchairs have their own place to sit, behind a table for better set up. The ushers and staff have tattoos. You can wear anything you want and no one will judge, really. Extremely diverse, taught that Jesus loves us all. No matter gender, ethnicity, background, or sexual orientation. That was said in a sermon. Has a very good children's service but doesn't give you the look if your kid wants to be in the sermon. Also has a room for nursing moms, or dads stuck with the screaming baby during the prayer. Offers free bibles if you don't have one. Sat in the cafe for a while and everyone was super happy and friendly BUT didn't make me feel like I was stuck being preached at. Just a cool place to chill between services. The place is immaculate even the bathrooms. I know, who cares? I do! Parking is a mess but the guys out there due a good job at keeping it moving. Three services so if you sleep through the first two you get a third chance at making it. Services are timed so thank you JESUS its not the sermons I was stuck in as a kid for hours, and hours. I love my God, but I love lunchtime too. The music is good, not the cheesy music you hear with the single guy and guitar. Sorry CC. You can choose to be involved but big enough church if your just wanting an hour and a half of peace. Great safety system for the kids. You will see when you visit and are walked through the process. Lots of different classes to attend to learn more. Like I said, just some of the pointers I have noticed over the years I have come here. I will keep coming back.

The church has a food bank program to share with every one. Most of voluntary people working in the…read morefood bank are very nice. Unfortunately, there are same families which have 2 volunteers ( either husband and wife / mother and daughter) so they take twice free foods they wanted to full loading in 2 cars for themselves, no sharing. Therefore, it resulted to unfairly have less food to distribute to the community instead of 2 families. Below was my experience when I was there on a day in April 2026 to participate it. I came in at 9:20 AM. I left my rolling cart in line and went back in my car to sleep because the food bank would not open until 12PM. There was no one behind me at the time I left my cart there. I was the 4th one in line. I came out my car around 11:25AM to get ready to come in once the food bank opens. I saw a tall lady standing behind my rolling cart. Around past noon, when the food bank opened, there was a voluntary lady whose name "Eve" (pronounced as EEVEE) came out. The tall lady who stood next and behind my cart told EVE that I was not here earlier, but only my cart. Eve immediately told me to step out of the line without asking me to verify what lady just said. It was unfair that EVE treated me as I was invisible, and did not respect elderly person who is 66 and older than her a lot. Therefore, EVE let the lady cut in, and came in first. I spoke up. I insisted telling Eve that I left my cart in line at 9:20 AM, and went back to sleep in my car. Eve smartly (in opposite way) told me that, " I was not here because she came here at 9:00AM." I said, "You were here at 9:00 AM but you had been inside the whole time so you did not see anything to believe whatever that tall lady said. You did not let me have my voice. Again, I got here around 9:20AM how could you see me here at 9:00AM?" That was all, I did not say anything bad at all, but EVE told me AT ONCE that if I continued talking she would prohibit me to come inside the food bank on today and FOREVER." She repeated again loudly that she wouldn't let me to come to the church forever if I did not stop talking to her. She made me so embarrass with other people who were waiting in line at that time. She treated me as I was a committed crime person in the church which she caught me. I wondered that what did I do wrong, but telling her the correct story. Furthermore, THE GRACE CHURCH IS THE JESUS' HOUSE for any one who believes in JESUS to come praying/socializing. It is NOT her own place/house, and she is not one of pastors either to disallow me coming to the church. On whose behalf, Eve had a right to tell me that she could disallow me to come to the church when I have not done anything wrong. EVE even told me that she is the church member. I believed that even to be pastors, they would not disallow any one to come to the church when they believes in JESUS, and have not done anything wrong. EVE made me waiting forever until 12:45 to let me come inside the food bank. From the 4th one in line, I was the 34th one to come inside. That was how discriminate EVE did to show her power to be a church member there to me. What church member power she is! Thank you very much for reading my posting about my experience which has still stressed my soul for several weeks now. I would like to bring it up so that no one would have gone through this very bitter experience like me.
