I came to The Promise Church because I was tired of receiving watered down messages. I was hungry for a deeper truth but I wasn't sure where to find it or even what that looked like. The one thing I knew was that I was hungry for the TRUTH of God's word and I did not want a play or a fancy presentation to distract me from it. It was totally by the grace of God that Istumbled across The Promise when they were meeting in my neighborhood at the Civic Center in San Marcos before moving to Escondido. I felt a warmth and a welcome there that was so genuine, I had nothing to compare it to in all my years of attending church. Pastor Henry preached the truth, even when it was uncomfortable and perhaps not well received by all. I later learned that he was walking in revelation knowledge, but prior to that, coming from churches that keep all messages surface and comfortable, I had no knowledge that this even existed. My faith has grown in leaps and bounds since my first day of attendance. I have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and have come into a right understanding of who God is. I walk in the richness of God's grace, love and mercy in a way I never even knew existed. I have come to know the truth about giving -- that one can NEVER out give God--and my life has never been richer, nor has my heart been more in sync with The Lord. I've been to quite a few churches and The Promise is by far the most amazing church I've experienced. Not only is everyone friendly and more than welcoming, the members love and welcome new faces. When you're a visitor at The Promise you are literally treated like family, embraced with hugs and showered with love. I drive over 30 minutes from my house, multiple times each week, to attend this gem and always bring my out of town guests to see my church. After hearing about my weekly commutes, my guests all question why I would ever travel to go to church when there are many other churches near me. My response is always "you'll see" because I know that when each visitor steps foot in my wonderful church, they will see the passion, hear the worship and feel the Holy Spirit filling that place. The Promise is not just a church filled with Christians, it's a home where passionate believers follow, love and share Christ. God loves you! And that is what you feel when you walk in the doors of this church. The people are friendly and welcoming and down to earth. The music is spectacular, but they are not just talented musicians and singers ( even if some are payed) they are anointed.. and that you cant buy! Its rare to find a worship team that can truly worship in spirit an truth. Dr. Wolmarans teaches the word in love and honesty and doesn't pull any punches. That probably is my only critique - sometimes you dont want to hear what you are not doing... because it means you have to change. lol. Of course its not a real critique because who here thinks we know it all- its a growing process. What I like as well - if you ever have a question about the bible or what he teaches - he is very approachable and if you want to ask him questions "face to face" he will gladly sit down and explain to you his position and how and why he believes it- he always has many scriptures to back his beliefs. But it is definitely not a church if you just want the "in n out" christianity, where you do as little as possible to get to heaven, its a place where you get challenged and grow and see God power in action. They also have a lot for kids and young adults. The 10-13 year olds group are always doing fun stuff it seems. I went with for their bowling. good times. It will always be My home church! read more

I have learned more about God and his word here at this church than anywhere else. Pastor Henry is extremely knowledgeable and backs up everything with God's word. The church feels like a family, where everyone is greeted with love and kindness. You don't just feel like a number in a crowd when you go there. One of the many things I love about this church is that there is such a mix of people that attend. The congregation is a mix of all types of backgrounds, ages, professions, education, and spiritual maturity. You don't ever feel outnumbered and you feel truly loved and excepted by people who genuinely want to help each other grow as believers of Jesus Christ. The young adult groups and life groups (bible study groups) are amazing, and even more amazing is their Bible College! I even met my husband at the young adult life group and we attended bible college together as well....hint hint to all the single people looking to meet a potential spouse who is a passionate believer in Jesus Christ! The Promise Church gets 5 stars from me. My family and I have been attending for a while and we have been so blessed. This is one of the best churches I have been too. When you enter the front doors of the church you are greeted by friendly and warm welcoming people. I find the people to be genuinely real and caring. I never feel condemned and I am encouraged weekly. One of the things I really like about this church is they not only help you to understand the Word of God but they also focus on community and building relationships. The leadership staff are very caring and helpful. when you are in need, they are there for you. I also found out that they are helpful to their members when ever there is a financial crisis in the family. I have heard that they have helped some people with rent and even helping make car payments and provided food when time got so tuff. I really enjoy Pastor Henry's teachings from the Bible and he really helps to push you towards maturity in Jesus Christ. I was told , if your not going to tithe you should really never ask for anything from the church by Mr H. W the pastor. I hope you seek the true truth of what God's word says about not only the tithe lie of today but the entire structure of the church. Tithe was not instituted till almost seven hundred years after Christ. The Church Beyond Imagination in a three part series that will give you solid scripture proof of what today's church should be. I left after that day about five years ago never to return to the Institutional Man Made Tradition church. I encourage you to read the Word for yourself. It's all there. San Diego. I was referred by a friend to The Promise Church's Bible College. I was hesitant to make the commitment because I live 45 minutes away from the church, but did anyway. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I quickly fell in love with the church and pastors, so much so that I even started regularly attending Promise Church on Sundays as well. I can with 100% honesty say that EVERY message preached is so incredibly powerful. This church has truly changed my life. One of my favorite things about the church is the children's church. Pastor Lindsey is extremely passionate and has a special anointing when it comes to teaching the children. She sees the importance of equipping the next generation and molding them into passionate believers in Christ. This is the first church I've ever been to that my children are excited to attend (including my middle schooler)!! My husband and I were looking for a church. We'd prayed for years for a church that teaches and believes the WHOLE Word of God. We'd been visiting churches after living part time in two cities. When we got invited by Pastor Mary and Pastor Bryan back in 2012 to attend this church. I still really don't know what I am looking for. We just want our Home church and a church that will guide you spiritually and will help you learn the word and true enough Pastor Henry, Pastor Cindy, Pastor Lindsey are such a great Pastors and they will lead you in the right path. I was going to The Rock Church for awhile and was still trying to find a home church. At a prayer meeting at the Rock Church in City Heights I met two guys and they told me about The Promise Church. We spend about 6 weeks in Oceanside but decided to make the drive into Escondido for this church. From the second we walked through the doors of this church we felt nothing but welcomed and loved....not just from the greeters or ushers but really everyone!
