2020 was my year of freedom, empowerment, and independence because of the work I did on myself here…read morein South Florida with the help of Stephen and his virtual practice all the way in Glasgow, Scotland. I have never met him in person, but his impact on my life and the life of my children as a result has been so monumental. For the first time in my life, I am not at the mercy of my traumatic experiences which held me in bondage for all these years. Working with Stephen I was encouraged, educated, strengthened, and empowered. From this psychotherapy support I discovered who I was and who I was not. I gained a newfound appreciation for living authentically and true to myself. I experienced a domino effect of determination for my complete freedom - for a life no longer paralyzed by fear and anxiety. Which I achieved from working with Psychotherapy, Counselling and Personal Development Glasgow. I invested the time, the effort, and resources in myself by working with Stephen... in less than a year, I see the return on said investment tenfold. My 2020 would not have been the same had I not found his practice online. Thank you Stephen for all that you have done for me.

Since then, I have visited 5 different therapists including Stephen. Prior to beginning working with Stephen, I was fairly sure I was 'always going to be this way' and there was nothing anyone could do for me, but it is now difficult for me to put into words how beneficial this process has really been. Transformative? Invaluable? Necessary? It is all of these things and more. If you are prepared to do the work and want to meet your issues head on, then Stephen will commit equally to helping you on your path. He is intuitive, genuine, caring and extremely good at what he does. He can and will help you learn about yourself, why you are the way you are and provide you with the support and tools you need to manage your journey going forwards. The process was more than just talking about my problems, which is why therapy had never worked for me in the past. In a world of mediocrity and incompetence it has been refreshing to work with someone at the top of their game and a credit to their profession. I cannot recommend Stephens services highly enough. G.

What I can say about the counselling service at Glasgow University is that it is an invaluable source of support that should be utilised when necessary by university students. It goes without saying that you receive anonymity here, and the team of staff are highly sympathetic while remaining absolutely professional. I attended counselling for 6 months during a tough time, and I can honestly say that my wonderful counseller and the way I was cared for here helped me on my way to passing university. I started the year off in a bit of a state, and finished it with A grades. I couldn't have done that without this support network. You are never waiting excessively long for a counsellor to begin their sessions with you, you can pick and choose how long you feel like you need counselling, and there are a number of counsellors qualified in various areas to help you with bereavement, or general university stresses. Moreover, this is a fantastic information network if you are ever uncertain about the best accomodation and ways to get funding whilst at university. If you ever need to use this service they will do everything in their power to help you get back on track.

I then went back in February 2015 to chase this up. I was then told to come in for an asessment, was marked down as urgent (on the basis of my circumstances and mental health alone) and told it would take another 3 months! Hopefully, the counsellor said, his marking of urgency would result in a quicker appointment. I had to wait until mid-April, by which point, I wasn't even at the University even more! 3 months is long enough as it is, but I had to wait 5 and a half months for an appointment!!

If you're looking for a venue to hire in Glasgow city centre, I'd recommend checking out here…read more They have a large hall area (with stage and bar as well as tables and chairs) that you can hire out for functions. We use it a lot for roller derby after parties and it is a good sized space, easy to get to (right near GFT) and the caretaker is a really nice guy who will help you out with any questions you have. The space is always clean and the bar is a good set up for you to sell your own alcohol (license required, obviously) at the function. It's great for dancing nights as it has a big dance floor, as well as bingo or something along those lines as there are plenty of tables around the sides of the room. All in all, a good space that's worth a look if you're looking to host your own party.

I was impressed by the quality of the teachers, who were all practitioners, and the guidance given in the group sessions- when we all tried to go off at tangents- was firm but gentle. The training was only an introduction, and seemed to leave all of us feeling that we wanted to go into counselling- as patients! It really demonstrated how helpful the process could be. Creative and rigorous, the course was a fine example of how further education can be well designed and adult.
