Unfortunately I also had a negative experience with Blair. I used him the past and he was great. This year I asked for his assistance with my leaking hot tub and also to get a me pool safety cover. He took a deposit from me and has not responded back to any of my calls or texts. I am out money and do not have a pool cover and I still have a leaking hot tub. I would highly advise on using this guy. I was forced to pay to have my pool closed with my old tarp and water bags. read more

Does not focus on the job @ hand, very sloppy workmanship, no attention to detail. To be levelling the frame & is concerned with cutting up the old liner that is lying in the middle of the pool floor. Very disorganized. Does not plan ahead & utilize time constructively ie. pool walls to be installed & no show to do so as he is awaiting ordered items to come in ie. liner & coping. Don't use this service! My 91 year old fathers hot tub stopped working. I called for service. This character came out and told me what was wrong and I said go ahead. After the work was done he texted me a picture of it running and I said great. Texted me a bill and I e-transfered him. Well when I went to see it, it was running full blast and not shutting off. Poor communication, doesn't follow through, sold me a broken hottub. Orignally called for service on my old tub, which was in pretty rough shape. Was told he had a refurbished tub, sent me pictures, agreed on a price, and set up to replace the old tub. The new tub came with a big crack on the underside cover, not a huge deal, but definitely not communicated. Once the tub was in place, noticed a broken jet, a missing jet, and a missing head rest. Once the tub had water in it, noticed a few major leaks, some from the broken gaskets/ valves, and one major one under the tub. All these items were "covered under warranty" which he was offering directly for any refurbished tub he sold. It's been weeks now, it started off with delays and excuse after excuse, to now just reading messages with no reply, no communication. Today I reached out to give one last opportunity to make it right, which again, not even an acknowledgment. Now having to spend hundreds more to get replacement parts and techs out to fix a broken tub that's under warranty lol Seemed like a great guy and he knows his shit, right up until he got paid that is. Complete piece of sh*t this guy is. AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH HIM at all costs. Originally quoted me 250 for a replacement pump which turned into 450 and "fixed" the tub only to have him break parts along the way. Now half the water is on my lawn and he promises to come and fix it but doesn't show. He is now avoiding my calls. After posting the below on Google review Blair contacted me to have it taken down. Said he would be by to get it up and running. So giving him benefit of the doubt I took it down in hopes he would prove Yelp comments wrong. He proved Yelp comments to be very accurate he is not a man of his word and I still do not have a functioning hot tub after paying $1100. So please be ware! I would recommend you Yelp reviewera to post on google as well. People need to be aware of him. Here is my original post Blair is a scam DO NOT USE HIM! I called to get my hot tub repaired told me it was my pump was there for a long time changed the pump had to change another thing and said we had to wait to fill because of the cold so the glue would set a few days later we went to fill the hot tub and it starting pour out the bottom of the hot tub! I sent him a text in which he said he'd be there the following Monday. No show so I texted again and saw the read of my messages with no response. Then I called and got ignored. Be careful with this clown... EXTREMELY unreliable! Never shows up on time, often days from when he says he will be there, always an excuse. Never finished the job completely and left me without a decal on the panel to show what the buttons are for. It is hunt and peck each time I have to turn on the tub, lights or temp. He has now ghosted me and will not answer calls or texts to bring the decal. Had to order one online and pay for the part and shipping. If I treated my customers in this manner, I would be fired! Wish I'd read yelp reviews which are more realistic than the google reviews prior to calling Blair. Same issue as I see posted in previous reveiws.came to repair minor leak in cold weather just before Christmas , after repair tub leaked more than before, contacted said he would return next day no show, texted multiple times I know he read texts but no reply.. was scammed out of my money, reported to BBB and police that suggested posting reviews to save others from the same fate.with further digging I see reviews under different company names just changes name and carries on . Wish I knew about Yelp reviews before my experience with this fraudulent company/person. I hope I can help someone else avoid the pain you will encounter with him. Avoid at all costs - Blair Ruch, he is a fraudster, con artist, and imposter who pretends to fix hot tubs and swim spas. If I could give 0 stars here I would. He will try to create a rapport by being very pleasant and chatty, telling you not to worry.... He will delay and delay..and promise he will research and figure things out etc. He will steal your tub owner's manuals and notes as keep them as leverage to try to force you to pay his outrageous scamming fees. He only seems to 'work' (aka scam) late at night. His vehicle leaks transmission and brake fluids and oils all over your driveway and ruins it. Once he's brought along the scam as much as he can, and he's tired of pretending to be nice, he will drop you an invoice that is criminal in it's outrageous amount....he didn't fix the leak he was supposed to work on...oh, but he did break my tub cover holding arm when he removed it and then lied, adamantly insisting it was already broken. Shame on him, what kind of person goes around doing this to innocent people when no one has precious money in these times to waste...I think his company, business number, GST number are all fake...should someone care to research, his latest 'business' that he scammed me under is called 'The Pool and Spa Techs' (Business Number 1000809087)...he posts on kijiji and never gives his last name so you won't be able to search for reviews beforehand...you'll only do it after you get scammed by him and need to look into his background. Very enlightening reviews on here. Do not let him take away any property or parts or manuals, do not pay him in advance , do not pay in full when he threatens he won't come back unless you pay...because per the reviews in here, he will ghost you anyways and not return. I've learned it just would have been wiser to go through the dealer (a distance away from my location) who would actually be a certified Master Spa dealer/contractor and could know the product and order their parts. Find out if your spa technician is certified for the tub you own, if not...stay far away, they can't even order parts for you or call the experts for advice! Blair is an absolute scumbag. Do not use this guy. Just a shady individual. Told us he would help level our pool. The guy never showed up before noon. We made the mistake of paying him full dollar and once we started filling the pool there was a rip in the liner so I called him. He asked me to send pictures and then said he would come the next day, I think you know how that story ends. Totally ghosted us.
