Hey apartment searchers. I'm a college student attending school in Laramie, WY and I've lived at The Pointe at Wyo since August 2014. As I write this review, it's nearly April 2016 and over the year and eight months that I've lived here I've come to know the place pretty well. I'd like to share what my experience here has been like with you so that you can make an informed choice about where you choose to rent from in Laramie. When I first came to Laramie searching for a place to live, I had never heard of an apartment complex quite like The Pointe. Each apartment is composed of 4 bedrooms, each having its own full bathroom. There is a large kitchen with new stainless steel appliances and a spacious living room including two couches, two end tables, and one coffee table. There is a washer and dryer in each apartment. Each bedroom is furnished with a desk, desk chair, dresser, and night stand. It really is a modern looking and well equipped apartment that comes at a cost that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere for what you are provided. What's unique about living at The Pointe vs renting with a traditional lease is that your rent remains the same no matter how many people are living in the apartment with you. For example, if you move into a unit that has three people living in it, and they all leave, you are not stuck with paying the rent of their three, now vacant, rooms. Your rent will remain at your signing price throughout the duration of your lease, in my case $535/month for a third floor unit with vaulted ceilings. During my initial tour of The Pointe, about 6 months prior to my move in, I was ooooed and ahhhed by the three hot tubs, firepit, the well equipped gym, and the newness of everything in the apartments. While I am still mostly happy living here, there have been disappointments. First of all, when I finally moved in 6 months after my tour, I was surprised to find the hot tubs lacking a crucial ingredient....water. And they've been like that. For. 20. Months. That's right, I've not once had the opportunity to sit in the hot tubs that I was promised during my tour and I've lived here for nearly 2 years. There has been a recent change in management and much construction has been going on in an attempt to get the hot tubs up and running. I just hope they get it taken care of sooner than later, because that has been a huge let down. Secondly, while The Pointe has since switched internet providers and now has much faster and more reliable internet, the internet was out for a couple of months in 2015. Although the fact that we didn't have internet was frustrating in itself, the tipping point for me was that we were not being communicated with from management. I just wanted to be told the truth. Tell me why I don't have internet and give me an honest timeframe as to when I might be expecting it to return. We were provided a temporary solution of mobile hotspots; however, most residents quickly burned through the allocated data and were again stuck without internet. BUT....management as I mentioned, has definitely changed for the better here at The Pointe. During a recent spring snowstorm, our internet went out. Having had such a negative experience with such situations in the past, I expected nothing different this time. But as I walked down the stairs to get into my car to go to class, I noticed a new sign on the entryway door. It stated that management was aware of the internet situation and was attempting to fix the problem. "Wow" I thought. This is nice, now I know that they know something is wrong and that they are working on a solution. In addition, The Pointe was tweeting live updates about the situation on its Twitter account. So nice to know what was going on as it happened rather than being left in the dark as we were in the past. So things are definitely turning around and really might be the reason that I resign a lease here at the Pointe. If you've lived in Laramie during the summer, you'll know that weather is pretty mild, but can get up into the 80s and so air conditioning is nice to have on those really hot days. Over the last two summers that I've lived here, the air conditioning hasn't worked at all...instead, "freezing up" and so you're better off just using the blinds and opening windows. Now, some of the other perks of living at The Pointe include a shuttle that runs to and from the University of Wyoming so that you do not have to pay for parking on campus, a large theater room that can be fun to hang out in and watch shows with friends, computer labs and study rooms to get homework done in, and a nicely equipped gym. The gym has the basics, a couple of treadmills, a couple of ellipticals (if they are not still broken....kind of cheap equipment but nice to have nonetheless), free weights, a Bowflex machine, jump boxes, and although I've never used it, a tanning booth that is free for tenants to use. read more

If you plan or know anyone that is planning on living make sure to tell them not to. This place is so filthy and disgusting. They will do whatever it takes to take your money from you. And all the management does is lies and is extremely rude. They don't follow what they say and the don't even know what's in there own lease agreement. They say one thing then get caught in a lie and try to change it. They don't take responsibility for there mistakes. The rooms All smell terrible. And they make you fill out a roomate sheet to match with people that fit you and who you are but they don't pair you with them. This please is an extreme waste of money. read more

The Pointe is a really great apartment. I was in a less-than-ideal roommate situation, and Erin was willing to help me find a new room immediately. She is extremely empathetic and is willing to help find solutions for people. The staff is very respectful and receptive to the needs of renters. I am also really grateful with how dog friendly and sociable this apartment is. The Pointe has a lot of great amenities as well and is a great place to hang out at. I would recommend this apartment for anyone who needs a safe haven and a place to call home! read more

The pointe tried to evict me after I signed my sublet. I moved in a couple days ago and they're already trying to kick me out

The WiFi is terrible and they refused to do anything about it. It's difficult to get turn in papers and other college classes online when the WiFi sucks. They do not have enough parking for all the residents then they have your car towed if not properly parked. It cost $220 every time your towed. Do not rent here. They do not care about their residents and make no efforts to make things better. read more

The landlords of the facility are terrible, they never follow through with what they say they are going to do. The rent is way to much considering that the apartments come with broken stuff in them and are not cleaned in between uses. If I could I would give this place 0 stars. read more

Everything seems good at first and it seems like a good deal but it is not. The buildings were clearly cheaply built and stuff breaks all the time. The doors for my building were broken all year and never latched or locked the whole way. Snow was able to blow into the vestibule on a regular basis. Maintenance was slow to fix things and often didn't have the knowledge to fix it. Our washer broke and they didn't know how to fix it but 5 minutes on google and I did it myself. The dryer was extremely slow to dry as well. When my roommates and I moved in, the apartment was not cleaned. There was stuff left in the apartment from previous tenant, cabinets were sticky and dusty, window sills were extremely gross, and our paint was easily scuffed and the walls could not be wiped down without also taking paint off. There was one area that had deep scratches in it before we moved in, maintenance put spackle over it but never came back to sand it and repaint. When we moved out, we had the carpets professionally cleaned as they require, wiped down all surfaces and deep cleaned bathrooms and the kitchen. Over 30 days after moving out, we are just now being notified of "cleaning charges" that are not the same for each person. I had to login to my account to see these charges because I have yet to receive an email or letter detailing what they are claiming needs to be paid. My roommate who was rarely home and extremely clean is being charged over $200 while the rest of us are being charged $100-$150 each. Like I said, the unit was not anywhere close to clean when we moved in despite them claiming it was professionally cleaned and we left it much cleaner than it was before us. When we asked about having to pay a full month of rent for August despite the move in date being August 19th, they told us that it would be prorated and returned or could be applied to damages. I have not seen a check for this prorated rent or seen it be applied to my cleaning charges, so someone lied to us and you will be paying a full month of rent even though you don't live there for the full month. Wifi is pretty slow especially when we were expected to do online school all day, sometimes it was impossible to get lecture videos to load. This summer, they were upgrading the courtyard and managed to rip up the wiring for the wifi and we were left with no internet for 2+ weeks with little to no communication on when it would be fixed. Parking is a nightmare and I would often have to park all the way in guest parking when I got home from work late. They claim to tow people with no permits but I never once saw or heard of this happening. They will say they punish people for no permits/messes/loud noise etc but they never followed through on these threats. If you want peace and quiet this is not the place to be. read more

do not live here! our daughter lived at the pointe and it was awful. it was filthy when she moved in. we had to deep clean. then we deep cleaned when she moved out, but she still did not get her deposit back and was charged another 400 from criterion 3 lifestyles! they threatened her with collections if she did not pay within 30 days, nor did the company even share what that 400 was for. she had to email back the corporate management team for a breakdown of the 400. this company will cheat you! management never returns calls. this place is a rip off! read more

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!! This has by far got to be the worst place in Laramie to live. Not only do they charge you an absurd amount of money for rent, but you get absolutely ripped off because the landlord and apartments do not do anything they say they will do for you. When we moved into our apartment, we had to clean the entire thing ourselves. We also had broken blinds, broken sink faucets, broken lights in the kitchen, and a heating and AC unit that would not work. We reported these issues several times, and in the year that we lived there, they never got fixed. In my room, my bed was also broken and pieces of the ceiling were falling off due to water damage--the bed took weeks for someone to do anything about, and the ceiling never got fixed. Besides them never fixing anything (which is their job), they also allowed someone to live illegally in our apartment with two dogs for months without ever doing anything. Our 4th roommate had a friend who would spend weeks/months at a time in our apartment without our permission with her two dogs--on top of the dog that already lived in the apartment, meaning there were THREE dogs in the apartment--and the landlord knew she was there and seemed to not care at all. Not only did me and my other two roommates report it multiple times, but they also installed a game camera outside of our door that caught the girl and the two dogs on camera for months on end coming in and out of our apartment. I think it is funny they went through the trouble of installing a game cam in our hallway, but never actually did anything to evict the girl or do anything that they were supposed to do. Absolutely ridiculous as not only is this illegal, but it also violates their end of the lease agreement. On top of that, they will try to charge you for everything and never give you any explanation!! In January, when we were not living in the apartment for over half of the month, they charged us for "extra electricity usage." I requested to see the bill because there is no way that we used more electricity when 3 out of 4 roommates were not living there for over half of the month than we do every other month--and they just quit speaking to me about the issue. As soon as I asked to see the bill, all contact stopped. I believe our 4th roommate had people illegally living in the apartment--which they would have been able to see since they had a camera in the hallway--and yet we still had to pay for the electricity bill. Now, they are also trying to charge us for "damages" in our rooms without giving anything specific that is broken. We also never got our security deposits back, meaning that there has to be several hundred dollars worth of damage in our rooms. I know for an absolute fact this isn't true; if anything, we actually made the apartment nicer since we got the carpet cleaned before we moved out, and it was never cleaned before we moved in. It is absolutely ridiculous they think they can take so much money from us without ever telling us what it is for. Further, the property is horribly maintained. Good luck getting into the buildings because they are always changing the door codes or your key fob will magically quit working and you'll be locked out for hours at a time! It seems that whenever the doors are locked, the office is always closed, so if you're locked out you have nobody to help you. 95% of the time the doors are never locked, though, meaning anybody can just walk straight into the buildings whenever they want. However, even if you have your key fob with you it doesn't work half of the time since they can't keep their doors and locks functioning. The courtyard is also always disgusting and filled with broken beer bottles, trash, and dog poop. There is also not enough parking for the amount of people living there, so sometimes it will be a half mile walk to get back to your apartment. On top of all this, the manager here is so incredibly rude and passive aggressive. She does not care at all about any issues at the properties and will act like she has no clue about anything going on. All these people care about are getting their money and not actually maintaining an apartment complex that is worth the absurd price of rent. I have never been so mad at people or a place before in my life. Absolute hell hole to live in, and that's not even mentioning having to deal with the amount of noise from parties/drunk people almost all week long. read more

I'm only living here through the summer, but will definitely not be returning when my lease has expired. Upon arrival, there were exposed tacks under the carpet that stab your feet every time you walk into the kitchen or living room. Broken blinds, damages on the walls, and no response from maintenance about any of these issues, who claimed they never received a report. There was only one staff member, Travis, who treated me and my roommates with respect when they arrived at our door unannounced at the request of an ex tenant who no longer lives in the apartment. The rest were incredibly hostile and rude, accusing us of lying about several things in the apartment. Do not live here, it is unkempt and overall a terrible experience. read more

Don't live here. I moved in earlier this semester for the sake of convenience, but now I realize its definitely NOT worth it. 1. They will show you a very nice model and then the room you get will look NOTHING like that model. Scratches on the wall and NO bathtub. The furniture is not in good condition. (Make sure you write this on your move in sheet or they'll try to charge you) 2. Walls are paper thin. I can literally here every time someone comes in an out of the building. When the door slams it rattles the entire building. It can be fixed by adjusting the door (which I've asked several times but they just don't care) & I can hear all the details of my roommates conversation. When there's parties in your building good luck getting any sleep. Also when it's really cold out you can feel the windchill in your room!!! 3. They say internet is included but it NEVER works. They don't have enough broadband for all the residents. 4. This was supposed to be a secure building... well it's not- literally anyone can walk into your building. 5. Not enough parking- good luck finding parking after 6pm. For the price you'd pay to stay here, you're better off looking for a place that is worth your buck and honestly this is not. read more

This is a sucky place to live, especially for college students. The WIFI barely ever works, and the washing machine and dryer break constantly, as well as the dishwasher; maintenance rarely comes to fix any of the problems, and when they do, they are rude and entitled and never get the job done right. There are also not enough parking spots for everyone who lives there, and the doors that are supposed to be locked are usually broken. They will charge you out the ass for when you leave even if you do everything they tell you and leave the room looking better than the way you found it. They also don't update all the residents about things that are happening with the complexes. I've had to find out things were happening from others who received the texts or emails when I never got one. They are not a well-put-together business, and the management sucks and does nothing. So I encourage people to find different living conditions because, through all the people I've talked to and my own experience, you will most likely have the same issues. read more

The internet here is atrocious. An email campaign by over 40 residents was launched asking for the service to be fixed and we were promised a solution. The ISP came out a week later and installed some equipment. No noticeable improvement to the internet service in our apartment. I have spend hours and made dozens of phone calls to the ISP and had no luck getting anything improved. There are evenings where speeds drop below 1 Mbps and packet loss can exceed 30%. The one good thing is the tech support for Lariat is extremely responsive and personable. But, like I said, nothing has gotten better. If you value having, not necessarily fast, but simply usable and reliable internet service, don't live here. Maintenance is a hit or miss. Some issues are fixed quickly while others are never fixed at all. Our neighbors heating and AC is broken and has been for months! Totally unacceptable. The Pointe's solution was to recommend getting a space heater.. The staff here is friendly and tries to be helpful. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that they simply lack the ability to make many meaningful decisions without going through their corporate management. But no matter their intentions, the service here is frustratingly poor much of the time. Parking is also frequently insufficient and the Pointe's attempt to solve it hasn't been effective. The buildings are spacious and the appliances generally pretty descent. The washer and drier seem to be fading my jeans rapidly. Our apartment was not particularly clean or well maintained when we moved in. We did a ton of cleaning ourselves. If you want some things fixed or improved you have to go to ridiculous lengths to get action from management. Even then, your efforts are often in vain. If none of the issues I mentioned would bother you, then this is a reasonably nice complex. Otherwise, avoid this place. The niceties are not worth all the hassles and frustration you will face. read more

To start off with, the pictures they post do NOT do justice to what you get in person. The whole apartment complex is a crock of poo. Water damage everywhere, staples stabbing your feet every time you walk across the carpet. Drains never getting fixed, Wifi never works, EVER. Dog poo everywhere, and I mean everywhere. The whole business is run by stuck-up 20-something-year-olds with a "drunk" manager. ABSOLUTELY insane prices. Insanely rude people who are supposed to "help" you but in reality will call the cops on you with every chance they get. No cameras ANYWHERE so if you get mugged or your car gets broken into then that's your problem. College is supposed to be fun but yet rent was so much I was living paycheck to paycheck and barely had enough money to get myself food (that's on working 2 jobs on top of being a full-time student). Blinds were broken, the bed was broken, and the wall was chipped. My apartment smelled like dog and cat piss constantly from other owners' apartments. read more

I have been living at The Pointe for about a year and I signed up to stay another. As a student moving to Laramie and not knowing anyone, this is a great first place to go. Their shuttle runs regularly, which is very nice considering you don't have to fight for parking on campus. The rooms are big and come fully furnished, the bathroom and closets are big as well. The common areas are nice and I love having the porch. There is a storage closet off the porch that is very nice if you moved from far away as I did. The maintenance people have always been kind to me when we needed help, and the people at the desk are always helpful. They are always smiling and willing to help when you ask for it. I love that dogs are allowed, even though I do not have my dog it is nice that dogs are around. Having the printers, and computer labs are always a good backup if your own devices aren't working. The gym is small but it does have good machines for a workout, and treadmills for when it's cold out but you want a good run. My friends and I use the hot tub frequently and love having it. The WiFi experience for me has been good, there have been days where it is down, or they have people working on it so it gets shut off. When this does happen they always have to send out a text saying why and when it should be back on. The one problem I have had is not getting all the texts from the office. I get probably 75% of the ones that are sent out, when I knew I was having an issue with this I went to the office and they talked to me and tried to get it figured all out. It seems to work pretty well, but I still don't get all of the texts that they send out. I don't know if it is an issue that they can solve but I do know that they were helpful and tried to fix it. If you are a day late on rent from forgetting, they don't start putting late fees without trying to contact you in my experience. I forgot one month for about 3 days and before they charged me the late fee I got a text reminding me that I didn't pay and a late fee would be added if I didn't. Overall my experience has been good at The Pointe and I'm glad that I found it when moving away from home for the first time! read more

Updated 9/11/2015 I've been living at the Pointe for a year. As to date and having lived in a number of apartment complex and housing situations, I would rate my experience slightly below average 2.5/5 stars. While the apartments are initially nice, management and poor maintenance turn around make this less than ideal. PROS: The apartment comes furnished and the provided furniture doesn't look or feel cheap. If you cook, the kitchen is a huge upgrade compared to most places. Locked and heated entrances. Vaulted ceilings on the 3rd floor. CONS: 1. If you submit a work order don't expect for it to get done. The staff either don't place it in their computers or completely neglect it. To add insult to injury, even when I have asked for them to put a work order in over the phone and follow up the work order within 24 hours with another person, according to the records it was never put in the first time. If a work order does make it into their system, don't expect for it to be done in a prompt manner. I've had multiple work orders in for the same thing over the course of 6 months or more without having it being addressed. I'm a disabled veteran and needed my bed replaced for a lower back injury. To date, I've been waiting over two weeks for the furnished bed to be picked up. With two managers now, I was hoping things would be run more smoothly than before. From my experience, it has made little difference. Low moral exists between the staff and have low opinions of their management beyond what would seem 'norm'. Management seems to approach a 'do as I say, not as I do' leadership style. From rumor, I heard an individual was laid off for having a dip in his mouth, whereby the following day(s) management did the same. I'm not a lawyer, but that does seem illegal. Further, my girlfriend was offered a job, but only if she extended her leasing contract. Again, this seems illegal. When a job is done, it's done poorly. I've had personal property damaged by maintenance personnel without compensation or an apology. I've had to ask maintenance to come in multiple times to address the same issue because it was never done right the first time. I had vomit in front of my apartment - inside of the building - probably from some drunk neighbor or their friend. Having called about the problem at least three times during the course of over a week, I was told I needed to wait for a cleaning lady to come shampoo the spot. This is a general trend with most things - maintenance and cleaning of any kind is not done on a prompt manner but a fixed schedule. If it happens outside that window, good luck. When the spot was 'cleaned' it looks to have been improperly done. A residue or stain still exists 8 months later; although the smell is goneComplacency of small issues lead to bigger problems later. The featured perks don't exist. The Pointe is probably one of the most expensive housing options in Laramie. It touts that it provides quality services to justify its high premium. It simply cannot even offer it's advertised services. Internet has been off more days than on over a course of a year - which simply is not acceptable for 'college living'. The Internet was completely out this summer for several months. While this is an advertised perk, management refused to provide any reimbursement for failing to provide this service. Their excuse was that they were not obligated to in accordance to their contract. To you and I, it would just make sense to do the right thing and save face for PR reasons. Further, the faculty will misrepresent the other luxuries of having a gym and being able to provide hot tubs or pools. The gym is laughable at best. When I first came here for a tour it was stated that upgrades would be made. The only upgrade to my understanding was a bow flex that was donated by a tenant. Further, a hot tub or swimming pool has never been made available. Yet all these are touted as being part of the package deal. For $515-535 monthly rate there are cheaper alternatives. Management during this time has only reimbursed me personally for $50 over the course of a year for failing to meet services and expectations. Most have not benefited from any reimbursement. The utility bills are not transparent either. Having shared a 3 bedroom house prior to living here with college room mates, there have been several months where the utility bill was higher here than a house with larger square footage. CONSIDERATIONS For four people, the living quarters and kitchen quickly become overcrowded. Not enough space. Ive had to resort to putting up additional shelving in the boiler closet to act as a makeshift pantry. We had a drug raid occur in our building. No explanation was ever given by management. If you like to have a lot of natural light or would like to have a summer garden on your balcony or patio area, make sure to pick Bldg. 1 (sunset) or 7 (sunrise); these are the east and west facing buildings read more

The pointe is great at putting on a nice facade with their perfect tour room and all of the "amenities" that the residents get; however, once moved in you will be living a polar opposite life in these apartments. The pointe is going to take as much of your money as it possibly can and give you absolutely nothing. DO NOT LIVE HERE. First, upon moving in our apartment was NOT clean and there are a vast amount of dents, missing wall paint, a burnt and dirty stove, sharp carpets that will cut your feet, and best of all no air conditioning. The work tickets put in were ignored and "lost" and we (the residents) were left to be in charge of fixing an apartment that we are RENTING, that we are paying other people to maintain. Second, a few months in we realized that our dishwasher was producing a horrible smell and not cleaning the dishes. It wasn't taken care of until our clogged dirty water started dripping into our neighbors apartment below us. IT SERIOUSLY TOOK AN APARTMENT CEILING TO BE FLOODING BEFORE THEY DECIDED TO ACT!!!! Our dishwasher still isn't fixed by the way. Third, our washing machine broke and is clogged with water that won't drain and we have resorted to having to ask other residents to borrow their machines. We are still waiting to even get a response on our ticket. Fourth, if you believe that $535 is enough for rent to be able to at least enjoy some hot water in your showers, you are sorely mistaken. It is winter in Laramie and we are showering in water that is lukewarm on a good day. The office was closed over the thanksgiving break so if anything does happen you are 100% on your own. Fifth, the pointe does not care about their residents whatsoever. Safety is not something on their mind if it means that they have to actually pay for services such as enough parking spots or plowed parking lots. There was no parking so they told us to park on the basketball court. I'm sorry but giving us 4 "new" parking spots is not going to help anyone. In addition to the parking problem, our parking lot is either buried in snow and or an iceskating rink. There is black ice everywhere and so the pointe after receiving numerous complaints about injuries from people slipping on the ice decided that they would "hire" residents to do the plowing and lay down some salt in exchange for $20. Much to everyone's surprise that didn't work out well as we now have our very own drifting crew that doesn't plow the snow unless it's to make a jump they can drive the four wheelers off of. Does the pointe to anything? NO. Lastly, if you ever have a problem just know that when living at the pointe it will not be resolved. For example, if they mess up processing your payments you will be charged $35 and the pointe will do absolutely nothing about it. As a resident they are going to take your money and give you nothing, not even internet. They are buried in complaints and don't bother to address any of them. Instead of taking care of their current residents they are more worried about scamming new people. So they will bribe us into leaving good reviews for free things like a T-shirt. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but a T-shirt is not going to get my tickets answered, make my washing machine work, fix the dishwasher, allow me to have warm showers, or pay me back for the bullshit charges I've gotten that they themselves cannot even explain. read more

Not worth the price and everyone knows it. The internet sucks, it's almost completely unusable past 2pm. Don't expect to be able to pop a movie on with the roomies after dinner, or be able to get any of your homework done after class. They said they were fixing this, but that was months ago and here we are with the same problem. Maintenance is very slow, and it's pretty obvious they just don't really care much. The shuttle to school is tiny. It's packed full with people standing against the door every morning. (Hundreds of students live here, the bus comfortably seats 14....) There is no security whatsoever in the parking lot. Multiple people had their cars messed with pretty severely but no cameras or anything to catch it. There are a couple of good things, though. The kitchen is usable, and the bathrooms are actually pretty nice. The location is great, right by the "new development" of the town. Can't think of much else. I guess the gym is nice. Not sure if the glaring issues this place has is due to management or ownership problems. My bet would be ownership, the people just don't care about spending the money on us idiot students who are gullible enough to live here. It's sad because this place could be really great and I would gladly re-sign the if it were worth the price, but instead of fixing current problems they just give incentive for the new wave of naive kids to come fill out the residency with their friends. read more

I only gave it 1 star because I had to but honestly this place doesn't even deserve that. If you're thinking about living at the Pointe..DON'T. Horrible management and it's honestly just a scam. Hot tub never worked, doors never actually locked like promised, puked/pissed stained hallway carpets, etc. All maintenance work that was done (if it was) it was done cheap and very poorly. The pointe is such a great place to live! The staff is so friendly and the maintenance crew has fixed any of our maintenance problems right away. I love that they have the gym, hot tub, tanning booth, and computer lab available for residents and sometimes they even feed residents dinner! The Pointe has been very wonderful to me! Each person has their own bathroom and closet! The rooms are different sizes as well as the bathrooms and closets depending on which room you choose and/or are assigned. I love the amenities that have come with staying here. I use the shuttle almost everyday as well as I use the printing lab and gym quite often too. The apartments were completely furnished which was so helpful to a college student like me. I would have to say one of my favorite parts about living here is that they have BBQ's, drawings, and fun things planned for residents. They are also very good at getting work orders done and help you get anything you need in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend staying at the Pointe to anyone!! read more

The Pointe At Wyo is a SCAM! Do not waste your time or money here. Moving to Laramie was very last minute for me, so I decided to sublease at this apartment complex. I lived there for a total of 6 months and I was already sick of it. The building is supposed to be a gated community but the gates are never shut, therefore my car got keyed in the middle of the night in front of building 7. I asked if they had cameras so I could look at video recordings of them to see if I could catch who did this to my car but their "gated and safe" community does not have cameras. I also asked if they could close the gates and use them again but they said that they have had more problems with them being closed (which is bullshit). When you walk inside your own building there's holes in the walls that look like they've been patched up by children and the carpets have stains all over them. Therefore, EVERYTHING is very cheaply made and fixed. Also, I moved out four months ago and they are just now billing me for damage in my apartment building out of no where, when I was told that my apartment looked spotless and in the best condition they have ever seen. There are also new tenants in the building so I don't know how this isn't identified as a fraud... plus they sent me this bill without stating what is "damaged"? Good thing I have kept a piece of paper implying that I am free of damages from other employees, but I'm in the middle of fighting this bill with them. If anything, I would highly recommend the verge over this place if you are looking for a similar apartment building. read more

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. After living here for two years, I can honestly say ANY place in Laramie will be better than this apartment complex. Maintenance was always so slow--talk about standing water in a washer machine for over a week. The doors never locked. Puke in the hallways for days. Handrails were never fixed and always scattered around the hallway. And on top of it all, two months later after leaving a clean apartment (we spent literally 5 hours scrubbing it down and getting carpets professionally cleaned) we received a bill for 300 dollars! After six years in Laramie this is one of the nicest looking places you'll see. Sadly it's rather garbage. New management may eventually turn it around but egregious situations have abounded. The lack of internet is frankly inexcusable. They move people into apartments giving no warning to the current residents even though the lease specifies there must be at least 24 hours notice. Dog shit everywhere in the grass. The flexible policy on utilities is robbery disguised in nice sounding words. And it's expensive to boot. Oh and that pool/hot tub combo they talk about. I have lived at the Pointe for almost a year. When I first moved in I was very disappointed with the management, but it recently underwent a management change and has improved immensely. I really appreciate the shuttle that takes me from the apartments to UW. The layout is really nice, especially having your own bathroom. The people that work there are very nice and helpful. I'd like to first begin by saying that my experience at the Pointe has been less than satisfactory. If I could give zero stars I would. There are many issues with these complexes from management, to overcharges, and even with the "maintenance crew." My roommates and I were without hot water for two weeks in the middle of winter. They refused to replace the hot water heater and just kept replacing parts hoping it would fix it and took so long for them to respond when we initially placed the work order. The work orders seem to never get done unless you continuously bug them about it. Other than that, the overcharges in winter are absolutely ridiculous. We are being overcharged and we are not even in the apartment from the end of November to the end of January, so overcharges are a bit suspicious. When we have asked about the overcharges, the manager is very rude and disrespectful. She will not show us the breakdown of the charges from the utility company and says if we want to know anything to contact the company ourselves. In my opinion this is very unprofessional. Don't get me wrong, there are some very nice people that work at the front office, and they are more than understanding. If you take one thing away from this, I say do not live here. While it seems like a great price for a four bedroom apartment, the overcharges and all the other issues really add up. read more

Do not move here. Do not let your college kid move here. BEWARE. Constant unresolved maintenance issues, "amazing amenities" (as claimed on their website), like hot tubs and internet access that do not work, rude and apathetic staff and management, and shady business practices abound at the Pointe at WYO. My daughter moved out in the summer and had someone sublet the last few months of her lease. When she moved out, she was told she was released of her obligation. One year later, we find a full year's rent ($6300) on her credit report. After months of emails and phone calls, they offered to "settle" for $1500. I do not have $1500, nor do they deserve it since my daughter moved out 3 months before they claim she had a renewed lease, and she lived in the apartment for zero months out of that year. Feel free to read other reviews, and take note that positive reviews are mostly written by staff members of the Pointe. They are also at the University of Illinois and both colleges are aware of their shady business practices. There are less expensive apartments in Laramie, rented out by decent people who are not preying on naive college students. My daughter's current landlord takes good care of the apartment and is grateful to have a good, honest tenant who pays her rent on time. read more

I have so many good things to say about The Pointe. This is my first semester living off campus and I'm so glad I chose this place. Not only are the apartments themselves very nice and livable, the management is also great. They are willing to work with you and make sure that you are comfortable here. As a pre-vet major, I love that they offer quiet study rooms in the main building as well a convenient gym to work out in. Not to mention that the bus system they have saves me on a lot of gas money! I would highly recommend The Pointe to anyone looking for a great place to live. read more

Absolutely the worst place to rent In Laramie. When we moved in the carpets had not been cleaned the apartment was a mess and there was cat hair everywhere After we moved in we discovered that the gate system out front does not work and is for show only. Any issues we had throughout the lease were dear with, with stall tactics. We NEVER received a call back and communication took weeks if not months. After we moved out we received a bill for no reason. Saying they would report it to our credit bureau unless we paid. We definitely left the apartment 10 times cleaner than we we received it and when we tried to follow up on what the additional charges were they won't give us the information. We heard about the charges in August, more than 2 months after moving out and now it is November and they STILL have not gotten back with us to explain...just a horrible way to run things. They might as well not have a manager as the gal that's there now Sue, simply does not do her job... DO NOT RENT HERE unless you're up for a nightmare of an experience. read more

I love living at the Pointe! There are so many fun activities! They have free food and fun games throughout the month that each resident can participate in! The gym is always available in the daytime, I never have to worry about driving to the gym on campus and waiting around to use equipment. The free tanning is also a plus! Before I lived here, I spent so much money on tanning. Even though I didn't have 4 people to live with when first moving in they matched my friend and I with wonderful roommates that I'm happy to call my friends now. Usually apartments charge extra for pets, the pointe loves having my dog around and invites her down to participate in some activities with other pets. I paid a small pet deposit fee only ONCE! It's a great community to get to know other people and friends. There is also a bus that takes you to and from campus that saves money on gas and parking tickets! Whenever we have any issues the maintenance crew is at our door to fix the problem right away! The staff is super friendly and is always smiling and willing to help you out with anything. read more

I've lived at the Pointe since August 2015 and while under previous management there were issues, ever since Tiffany became manager I've been very pleased with how the property has been run. Tiffany and her team care about their residents and have always provided my roommates and I with great customer service if we've ever had an issue. The apartments are the biggest, and nicest in town and there are frequently events held in the clubhouse for residents. Tiffany and the rest of the employees have done an excellent job running the property and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else! read more

The apartments were nice, but they did seem like they cut corners. They are furnished with cheap furniture that is made to look nice. The beds are like a rock. My car was damaged by the pointe's hot tub cover in a storm (which I was never reimbursed for because it was a "act of god" to which they have you sign papers eliminating most of your rights), I walked through puke, endured many sleepless nights due to partying, and I was escorted out of my apartment with my roommates by what seemed to be a SWAT team (for safety reasons). If this kind of life appeals to you, then go for it! The Pointe is also in a precarious position with the city, as they can not meet deadlines for construction. Eviction of residents as well as large security deposits from the pointe to the city has been discussed at city council meeting. You can find these on the City of Laramie's website. Ask other resident's about their opinions. Make an informed decision! read more
