Staying at the Point is like staying in the best guestroom of your very favourite great aunt. And her sister stays in the room six months of the year, so even if she's cleaned it up for your visit, it doesn't quite reach that point of impersonal.
The decor is impeccable, if dated. Family photos dot the room. The carpet is plush, the bed plusher. There's a cosy shared living room (though we didn't go in) and wi-fi available.
Breakfast is cooked to order, and absolutely delicious. Fruit, loaf, three kinds of jam, on top of the fresh eggs and ham. A delight.
Not many options for dinner around there, but you eat where you can when you're out in the wilds of Newfoundland.
You're just a stone's throw from the top of the Avalon Penninsula, the culmination of the Baccalieu trail, and only 30 minutes from Heart's Content.
