We were there to have fun while visiting Minnesota from Georgia. We were playing pickleball, cheering each other on, and enjoying the courts we paid for. About 2 1/2 hours into our reservation, a Caucasian couple came in to practice on another court. Shortly after, an employee approached our group and told us that the couple had left because we were "too loud." The employee also repeatedly reminded us that there should only be six people per court, even though that wasn't an issue and we weren't exceeding the court capacity. What really bothered me was being told that cheering during a game was somehow inappropriate. Pickleball is a social, energetic sport. If someone is looking for complete peace and quiet to practice, a shared indoor facility may not be the right environment. Expecting everyone else to stop celebrating or having fun on courts they reserved doesn't seem reasonable. The interaction left a bad impression. While I can't say for certain that race played a role, the way our group was singled out made us feel uncomfortable and unfairly targeted. It's not a great feeling when you're visiting from out of state, excited to enjoy a local business, only to leave feeling unwelcome. We paid for our court time, followed the rules, and simply wanted to enjoy the game. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled overshadowed what should have been a fun experience. I hope management takes a closer look at how customer concerns are addressed so that all groups are treated fairly and consistently.

I always thought…read moreabout what's inside of the dome, and thought maybe it's like the other dome in other cities for indoor sporting events. Lots of parking spaces, someone greeted us at the main entrance. I think there may have had a class there. Follow the signs to the dome until you get to the tent like walkway that will get to the turning door. Once inside you'll just have to find where your team is playing and have a seat on the fake grass.

The fields themselves tend to get pretty beat up with how much they are used but for the most part, the NSC does an admirable job at keeping up with them. There is no denying the fact that it is tough to get a field in town because of how soccer has taken off and kids usually get the priority so having access to this for our league is appreciated. CATERING and Event Center Besides the soccer and hockey (which I cannot review), the NSC also has a fine event center which can be catered by outside vendors. We celebrated our soccer clubs 50th anniverary and they were super helpful. Parking is fantastic and the staff were super helpful. The only complaint I heard was that the older members wanted a wood dance floor for the polka band we had rented : )

My husband and I have been back for open play a couple of times and it's so easy to sign up online and for $8 play with other beginners for 3 hours! It's a heck of a workout and the facility is well run. They have several bathrooms and a water refill station as well as a vending machine with other options. The seating is a little limited for putting your stuff down but there's plenty of room. We've never had an issue with parking. The only thing I wish they'd change is the revolving door. The air pressure change is disorienting to me and it's quite claustrophobic. I'm sure it serves a purpose I don't know about but I would love to see it gone!

I'll tell you why I think this place is great: PARKING: They have big parking available on-site. Although on the times when I go due to offered class/instructor at 10am M-F, the parking is pretty full. There are signs around other businesses that says "no Life Time parking allowed." But after noon, there are a lot of spaces available. AMENITIES: - Life Cafe - Sauna & hot tub - Life Spa salon - Personal Trainer - Classes - Kids club - Outdoor pool and tennis court - and more... CLEANLINESS: At Life Time Fitness, they offer hand towels and full size bath towels so you don't have to bring in your own. There are hampers throughout the building and you can drop off your dirty towel when you are done. Lockers are clean. Showers are a hit or miss depending the time - morning to early afternoon is clean; but evening, you might see other gym members loose hair in the drain, but I see housekeeping constantly present to maintain the area. I did use their weight machines upstairs and noticed some gym members don't wipe down the equipment. There are sprays and towels available. CLASSES: I mainly attend yoga classes and the studio is kept nice and clean. Numbers on the floor is easy to see. SERVICES: The front desk is welcoming and greets you when you arrive and leave. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and knows you by name. The instructors are helpful if you forgot to RSVP a space and will help you find a spot in class. I booked a massage appointment once at their Life Spa and the masseuse was professional and friendly. The only downside was the pricing. Overall, it is a good place to go work out.

I'm extremely disappointed with the gel pedicure I received at the LifeSpa in Fridley…read more While removing my previous gel, the technician repeatedly filed and buffed several of my natural toenails until they became visibly pink, extremely thin, and painful. I told her during the appointment that the filing was hurting. She was also leaving a significant amount of the previous gel behind and appeared ready to apply the new color over it. At one point, I briefly held the file because I was trying to show her where product was still left and because I could no longer tolerate the pain. I was later told that gel applied at another salon can be difficult to remove. However, if the technician did not feel capable of removing it safely, she should have stopped and told me that she could not complete the service. I would have understood. Continuing to file my natural nails until they felt paper-thin showed extremely poor professional judgment. The final polish application was also thick, uneven, and poorly finished. The technician came to the front desk and apologized to me. At the time, I told her it was okay and even left her a tip because I had no idea how much pain and sensitivity I would experience the following day. My toes became so sensitive that even warm water in the shower caused pain. When I contacted management, I was initially asked to come in so they could examine my feet. Because I could not attend at the proposed time, I requested to come on Wednesday. The manager then left me a voicemail saying that too many days would have passed for examining my nails to be helpful. She stated that the technician and I had "different stories" and that she did not know where the truth was, but still refused a refund without ever examining my nails. The manager also stated that I had paid with "no concerns" at the time of the service. That is inaccurate. I communicated that I was in pain during the appointment, and the technician herself apologized to me afterward. The refund is no longer my main concern. My concern is the pain, the damage to my natural nails, the lack of professional accountability, and the way management dismissed my experience without even examining the condition of my nails. I have photos documenting both the poor polish application and the visible condition of my natural nails underneath. I expected much better professionalism, customer care, and accountability from Life Time.

Scott is very welcoming and a wonderful advisor on skates, equipment and sharpening. I get the flat bottom edge on my skates. I don't even need to tell Scott what type of sharpening--he just remembers and does an excellent job.

I had a negative first experience there. It was not a well kept building, but more importantly, the…read moreman who helped me with selling my used skates to them, gave major sketchy used car salesman vibes. I told him it was my first time there, and didn't explain how the selling used items to them process worked at all. He just took my skates and ID, and then looked them over a number of times, then he mumbled something about store credit from the register (about 10 feet away), to which I replied "no" to. He then handed me a receipt for $10 in store credit. When I told him I didn't want store credit, he took offense and claimed that he was "very clear" with me. Side note; we wouldn't be having that conversation if he had been very clear with me. I then asked him if for cash or check instead of the store credit, because I had no need of store credit. He said he couldn't for anything under $10, which is the amount he arbitrarily came up with....like I said, sketchy used car salesman. I would avoid this place of business if at all possible.

This place has also bailed me out more times than I can count when it comes to "gear failures" while playing at Schwans or Fogarty. Very nice hockey gear selection from solid skates, used and new, to the gear itself. Solid mix of new gear and used gear, along with almost all the accessories. A few items can't be found here (hard cover skate fenders, or feet guards for blocking shots), some visor items and compression/performance apparel. However, the major items are almost always covered - stick,s skates, shinnies, cup, breezers, elbows, shoulder pads, buckets and bags. If you're looking for somewhere to get into the sport, this is a great place to start and get your hands on the beginner gear with the guidance of a great staff and at a solid price. Lets face it, hockey is an expensive sport and if you're just getting into it, the price alone can scare you away. Stop here first and try things out before moving on to getting new, top of the line gear. Skate sharpening... it's a bit spendy for the standard, $4.50 I think. But, I've NEVER had my skates messed up here, and the guys ALWAYS check what kind of sharpen I want, and at what setting. That in itself is reason enough for me to spend more on the sharpen. If you have questions on what kind of sharpening to get, or what setting, they can answer them and get you squared away. For other sports, they do have a seasonal rotation that is typically well stocked. Overall, great store, solid location next to my most visited rinks, great staff, and the inventory is normally adequate for my needs.
