I can really see how she goes above and beyond to make her clients happy. I searched high and low for a hair stylist that can do hollywood waves for my wedding, that was still available due to every covid bride postponing their wedding, and was reasonably priced. The trial: Soreya was super flexible with scheduling and understanding that with covid, it was really hard to plan when we didn't know if the salon would be open or if I would be able to travel out of town from SF. Before I came down for the trial, she already prepped me and told me what hair extension brand worked best in her past experience. She even gave me her salon discount to get it! Even without it, it was still super affordable, great quality, and she helped me color match it to my hair. Not all extensions can hold a curl from for the entire wedding and look fabulous in every pic from beginning to end. Soreya did not disappoint with this recommendation. My wedding hair held for 12 hours! I highly highly recommend paying for the trial. I understand as a bride, you want to find ways to save money where you can, but don't skimp out on this. This is where we found out my fine hair didn't have the strength to hold all the wax spray and product she normally puts on her bride's hair. My hair only lasted for 3 hours after the trial. When I told her this, she fixed it and got my hair to stay the entire wedding after the feedback. She's super sweet and really easy to talk to. She gave me tips during the trial about how to nourish my hair and scalp to which I followed and loving the results to this day. The wedding day: Soreya was on time and worked around my MUA to get me and my mom's hair done. My MIL got her hair done by another hair stylist but Soreya was sweet enough to fix it when she complained it didn't have enough volume for her. When Soreya was done with my hair and asked me to look at myself, I nearly broke into tears just overwhelmed with how beautiful it turned out. I couldn't believe that was myself and seeing my little girl dreams all come to life. My bridesmaids cried watching me be so happy and had to quickly stop me from messing up my fresh makeup hahah. I was so happy and so thankful for Soreya. Don't bother reading anymore and just look at my photos yourself. The proof is all in the photos after all. Well being a blonde Aussie, I had no idea where to take my fragile, thin, blonde hair here in LA. So I decided to go all out and take myself to a very pricey reputable Beverly Hills salon thinking they'd know how to treat my hair with the best care etc..... OH HELL NO!!! After they bleached, teased, heated, broke it and fried it, I considered the salon that I drive by all the time, The Phoenix Salon. Basically Jenn, the owner, gasped at the state of my hair, and has subsequently nurtured it back to, well, I've never had it so thick and healthy whilst still being quite blonde. She takes extreme care, and this to me is paramount. Not only is she an excellent colorist, and a realist, but she's a great stylist who's not snip happy. I have now been seeing Jenn for over 7 years and absolutely everyone asks me who does my blonde. For me, she's a god send. and Prices? SO REASONABLE!! I always feel like a million bucks walking out of there, and it doesn't stop the minute I try and style my hair on my own. She does stellar work. I'm almost not wanting y'all to book her up! but feel she fully deserves rave reviews. She has quite a following, and I'm definitely a disciple. Greg is so nice and helpful and always makes me laugh. Good vibes, excellent hair, low prices. What more could you ask?! Go, you'll be a convert in no time. And say I told ya so! read more

I cannot say enough great things about The Phoenix and Greg Mora! I moved to LA about a year ago and left the only hairstylist I had ever trusted with my hair back home. Thus, the idea of finding someone new was not a pleasant thought for me! I went to The Phoenix after hearing many glowing recommendations from my coworkers. I immediately fell in love with the salon and all of the stylists! (Especially Greg) He is so nice, funny, and knowledgable! Everyone there is friendly and it feels comfortable and relaxed. Greg is excellent at listening to what I want to do with my hair and coming up with a plan before we ever even get started. He is a wealth of knowledge on coloring and yet he still takes the time to talk through everything with me to make sure it is exactly what I want. I have complete trust in his abilities and will not go anywhere else. I could go on forever but I will just leave it by saying that I feel so grateful to have found Greg and The Phoenix! read more

I have been getting my hair done by Romi at The Phoenix Salon for over 15 years. She is the best. The salon is great to look at and the energy of everyone that works there is very fun. I noticed a somewhat crazy review on here from a lady who says she lived in the neighborhood and wanted the salon open at 9:45am. I think it's a huge waste of time to write a negative review about a place you've never experienced. But we all gotta vent our frustrations, I guess. On a less crazy note, I do love this place and I know the stylists all work hard to accommodate all of the very needy people in their chairs. I should know I'm an actress and a drama queen and one of their most high maintenance and satisfied customers. I love the way my hair looks and I always enjoy the experience I have in the salon! read more

Wow, literally the best salon I've ever been to. The staff are all so nice and talented. The owner, Jen has been my stylist for years and I've tried going other people and always end up back here 'cuase she's is that good. It's crazy because I've paid 4x as much at other salons and gotten massacred. Then I'll come back to Jen, she'll make things right and make me feel amazing again :) I've referred friends and co-workers to her and to another Phoenix Salon stylist- Greg and everyone is ecstatic and become converts. Plus, the salon is in a great neighborhood and exudes finesse, style, and hippness. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! You won't be disappointed. read more

I asked for a French bob and showed the stylist a picture. I left with what looked like a mushroom haircut. For what I was charged, I expected a lot better. Then there was the pricing. The website advertised "Cut and Style $90." I was charged $150 because I was later told styling was a separate charge. When I questioned it, I was told there was a notice at the bottom of the mirrors saying styling was extra. I never saw that notice before or during my appointment, and I was not given an itemized receipt explaining the additional $60 charge. If styling costs an additional $60, that should be made very clear before the customer agrees to the service, not explained afterward. The worst part was that I still had to pay $110 for a haircut I absolutely hated. I felt like if I said anything, I would have been treated like the problem. Almost a year later, I still hate the way it has grown out, hate the way it looks without product, and honestly hate my curly hair in general now. I have worn my hair naturally curly since I first learned how to style it at 13 years old, and never in my life have I hated my hair the way I do now. I have not gone anywhere to fix it because this was genuinely the worst haircut experience I have ever had that now I'm just distrustful of all stylists. Sadly, my tried and true hair stylist left the country so last year I decided to try out Shampoolio. Before Lola, I had never had a haircut horror story. This experience completely ruined the way I view my hair, how it grows, and how it looks. I genuinely wish I had never walked into that salon or trusted the social media reviews claiming she "specializes" in curly hair. She also isn't the friendliest but who cares. I don't small talk anyway. Save yourselves, folks.

He trusts Felipe with his haircut, and pays $25 for his work. Prices vary depending what you are in for. This is a full service hair salon. For women, men and children. They do perm, blow-dry, haircut, trim beard/mustache, color, chemical treatment, hair extension coloring, and removal. They also do transformation from highlights, like blonde to brunette, and more. I personally have gone there twice. Once to get a haircut, and once just to shampoo my hair. They do a FANTASTIC job. Nicole is just wonderful and I believe her parents own this business. The place is nice, super clean, & spacious. They play different genres of music inside the salon. They have a gender neutral restroom, and only street and metered parking. They use high quality products for your hair. Highly recommend this salon to everyone! Walk-ins are welcome, and accept cash and credit cards. Thank you Felipe, Nicole, and management..

I can't recommend Mark enough. If you're one of the lucky few who stumbles across this page, stop…read morewhat you're doing and book your appointment now. As many mentioned, Mark has an exceptional talent for hair. He's up to date on the hottest trends and knows exactly how to give you what you want better than you can describe it. See photos below. Furthermore, he's an incredibly kind soul who's attentive and kind of a perfectionist (in the best possible way). But it's your hair, right? So you better be leaving satisfied! Do keep in mind that he is a one-man operation, so definitely be patient when trying to set up an appointment with him. It'll be worth it. Also, that tea tree shampoo/conditioner hair wash is THE sh*t.

I've looked everywhere near Koreatown and Hollywood for a good barber, but most the ones I've been to were either way too pricey ($40+) or were only good at cutting my sides. Mark is my favorite barber in the area at cutting the top of my hair (even compared to the $40+ places). I have an undercut hairstyle and he really knows where and how to clean up the areas where my sides meet the top, as well as giving me advice on which parts need to be grown out to fit my head shape. However, what makes him stand out from the other barbers I've been to is that he really understands how to give the top of my hair a really clean texture. Price is very competitive, but that makes scheduling a little hard as I have to book him at least a week in advance. Worth it though!
