I scheduled an appointment using MyChart for a new patient visit over the phone. I have updated…read morelabs from a couple months ago on my records and just needed to touch base with a doctor for medication management. On the day of my appointment -- half an hour before I expected the call -- I got a phone call telling me I had to come in person. I could NOT, which is the reason I scheduled on the phone... I was told the cancellation wouldn't be held against me. The front desk lady fumbled around on the schedule and scheduled an in person visit for two days later. I woke up to more news about the measles outbreak and decided it was unsafe to go in person as I have a five month old baby who would have to come with me. Just a few hours later I received a MyChart letter addressed by Brittany Ellis, NP (thought this was fairly unprofessional. Why not use the clinic name?) telling me I was no longer welcome to schedule there because I "canceled" two visits. I canceled ONE visit. They allowed me to schedule a phone appointment and then told me "OOPS! Not sure why it let you do that!" Just very much annoyed I was told the first cancellation wouldn't be held against me since the system allowed it to be scheduled in error. I cannot find good primary care in the upstate and this continues to be true. Cannot wait to move.

The previous review is very unfortunate both in content and the reviewer's experience. However, I am quite sure there is much more to this story than the reviewer is choosing to tell. Calling other people "monsters" on Yelp is completely ridiculous. They are unable to defend themselves or comment on HIPAA related issues on this site. That is childish. I encourage anyone who wants to improve their health to reach out and see for themselves. Don't take my word or the previous reviewer's word for it just because you are reading our comments on the internet.

These people are monsters…read more Dr. Blankenship was my mother's primary care doctor. She had severe pain in her belly for a month and Dr. Blankenship failed to investigate or diagnose or even order an ultrasound to diagnose what was wrong for a full month. *Severe belly pain is something that should be scanned immediately.* I've spoken to multiple doctors and nurses who have been shocked that she failed to even order an ultrasound immediately. My mom even went to urgent care because the pain was so bad, and Dr. Blankenship still failed to order any scans until my mom blew up at them. She finally ordered the scan the next day after my mom blew up, only to find Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Now we have canceled their rip-off well-being subscription service for obvious reasons, but they are still charging a cancellation fee. *To a terminal cancer patient for canceling a "well-being subscription."* This is outrageous considering they might have saved her life if they hadn't failed to diagnose her. Please stay far away from these terrible people who have absolutely no morality.

She has listened to everything we say and treated us with so many different problems. I don't think I have ever had a more thorough and caring PCP. I also love the staff. Everyone is so kind and professional and I appreciate all the people in that group. They stay busy, but my husband and I never feel rushed. She also said the doctor only does one new patient appointment per day when I asked for a back-to-back appointment with my husband. Receptionist tried to discourage me from seeing same doctor as my husband even though she had no idea why I wanted that. This doctor may be great, but I will never know-- no chance to make an appointment. This receptionist's handling of my call just cost this practice the revenue stream from two new patients. Seems like they do not care. Frustrating. If I could have put no stars, I would have. I wonder if the doctor knows how the front office is handling calls.

My doctor is very good. BUT the practice is managed very poorly, dangerously in my opinion…read more Messages to your doctor are read by / replied to by various office staff. I've had two significant issues with communications to my doctor. My most recent experience was that the office staff did not know my doctor had changed my medication and didn't convey that to me when I reached then (a day after the new medication was sent to the pharmacy). Two different office staff were contentious about having the nurse call me back. I insisted. When we spoke I discovered that my doctor had changed my medication. The people reading and answering the emails on MyChart had no clue what my doctor had done or either they neglected to let me know of the changed medication. In addition, they created a post dated email chain to cover their oversight. Any of these is unacceptable if you are to believe you're communicating with and being cared for by your doctor or their nurse. Practice management at Coventry Primary Care RISKS patients' health, IMHO. My doctor is great.., BUT if you want to be assured that the intended doctor or nurse received your communication, in my experience, it must be by US mail since it"s unlawful to open mail addressed to someone else. Using MyChart, there is no telling who reads the email you think you're sending to your doctor or whether the message you needed to get to them was ever delivered. Oh, and there is no calling the practice directly. All calls are routed through an offshore call center that you must go through and they determine whether or not you can talk to someone in the practice. Again, only my experience, my opinion. But based on two significant issues revolving around poor and inaccurate communication, I would look elsewhere for a doctor.
