She lives nearby of this…read morePet Hospital and after she decided to rescue him from the streets, I encouraged her to search for a vet so we could get him fixed, checked and vaccinated. Since I promised to help my mother take care of the expenses, and this kitty was pretty sick, me living in Florida and my mom in PR, I found myself often calling this hospital for consultations, to discuss procedures done and bill. Even though this was all done on the phone, the staff here was very patient with answering my 100 questions and taking time to talk to me and explain everything. My mother was very happy with how everything turned out. Staff is very attentive, understanding and patient. While in PR, this past Christmas, I was able to visit the facilities and meet the people who I had talked to on the phone so many times. I'm convinced the vet here loves and is passionate about what she does and I'm so content my mom's kitty, Gatún, is doing well and taken care off. Only downside is they only take Cash, and with hospital visits usually being on the expensive side, this was often an inconvenience, but a manageable one.

They open at 8 am but you should be here 45 minutes earlier to beat the crowds. It's first come first serve so the later you get here the later you get out. I recommend them because it's worth the wait. Unfortunately they're not open on weekends. So book early if you want an appointment. If not show up early and your pet will be seen.

Our appt was later in the day, and Dr Torres along with his staff stayed until almost 10 pm to ensure our dog was fully recovered from surgery and stable. Dr. Bobé, who was the first to treat her was always attentive and loving with Atena. She clearly explained to me that although Atena was going to be under treatment, occasional seizures could still happen. Well since she's been on her meds, she haven't had any seizures until yesterday's morning, when she had one. After that in the early afternoon she had another and although I was concerned I understood that it was totally normal. The problem was when at 6:30pm approximately she had one like none before. Her head began to shake and her teeth could be seen like when they are growling. That made me feel very scared, so I called the emergency hospital number. For my surprise when I'm at the phone I could hear Dr. Vega shouting while telling the secretary What was she supposed to do at that hour with an epileptic dog? That why I didn't called earlier if I knew the dog had this kind of seizures? She can't bring her here we're her last words before the secretary came back to the phone. I obviously was upset I felt she was calling me an irresponsable mom when I just needed a prescription for emergency treatment of the seizures. Finally after all her horrible show they told me they could give me an emergency treatment, so I went and bought it. All I say shouldn't this people be more humane? Couldn't she just tell me there's an emergency treatment you could use come and get it, instead of yelling over the phone when I was clearly under stress and feeling bad enough of seen my baby under those conditions? It is a shame this woman gets to have such a beautiful profession only to benefit her pockets. It's obvious she was mad I called twenty minutes before they closed; going home was her priority and not treating Atena. SHAME ON YOU!! Dr. Vega.
