Review for Kathy Longwell by Nicole…read more Puppy Training Where to begin?? I really can't say enough good things about Kathy. I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to because of her outstanding expertise and help in training my puppy. Kathy's professionalism, care for the dog's wellbeing, and ability to clearly and effectively communicate with me are only a handful of reasons why I'd strongly recommend Kathy's services to anyone. What I failed to realize in the beginning of working with Kathy is how much dog training involves human training...specifically training me, the dog owner. In order to get the most out of training, I felt I needed to keep an open mind to Kathy's suggestion and never take it personally. She truly has the dog's best interest at heart. For example, one suggestion Kathy made was to start loose leash walk training indoors, then in my backyard, then front yard, then finally sidewalks. (I compared the concept to a child going to kindergarten first, then elementary school, then high school, then finally college.) Implementing her input was the best thing I ever did! He walks really well on a loose leash now outside on sidewalks (at barely 5 months old!). Had I not checked my ego at the door and openly received and diligently implemented Kathy's sage advice, my puppy would never be as well behaved as he is. Do yourself, your dog, and our community a favor by hiring Kathy.

We were in Palm Harbor for a week to visit family and brought our blue heeler Charlie with us. K9…read moreAdventures did a fantastic job making Charlie feel welcome and loved at day care! From the first time I called to ask about day care, to the last day he attended, the staff was caring & helpful, and they sincerely loved my doggie!! Each day I brought Charlie in, he was so excited to go play with his furry friends. He ran in the door and knew exactly where to go! He came back to us exhausted at the end of the day, it was perfect! Next time we're in town, Charlie will definitely be coming back to play!

Someone mentioned k9 adventures heck yeah! Since it has become Dogtopia heck NO!…read moreMy daughter was married in January this year! She had her shower the previous November. I took my fur baby to Dogtopia for overnight boarding. I picked her up after a few days and she pooped everywhere! It was awful! I took her to our Vet and he did a number of tests to find out she had parasites! I called Dogtopia to inform them what happened and they said they had no other reports. So then come January, the big day, I took her back to Dogtopia and when I picked her up a week later it happened again! Oh noooo! I again called Dogtopia and again no big deal! My vet told me this is from the staff not cleaning up feces properly, dogs lick their paws and I guess that's how it begins. I wrote to them and never heard back. I would NEVER take my dog back there!

THIS PLACE LIBERALLY SAVED MY RELATIONSHIP!! Remmy was a surprise rescue. My boyfriend Brandon…read morenoticed him in a day laborer's trailer and the pup was very emaciated, covered in fleas and eating his own poop. He gave the guy some beer and came home with a hyper pitbull puppy with a poor relationship with food and no potty manners. We both worked long hours and had to crate him for up to 9 hours a day; puppies need to potty every 2-3hrs. Needless to say, we were constantly coming home to a puppy that wanted another 9 hours of playtime, poopy crates and an existing hound dog who was not happy about not being an only child anymore. We were so tired by night's end, Brandon and I barely had said 4 words to each other all day; we were not sure we could keep him Remmy. Cue K9 Adventures, suggested by our vet. He gets the 9 hours of play he needs, he is being social (so important for pits AND his relationship with our hound dog is better since he actually knows how to play without nipping now) and he comes home a perfect, well behaved little gentleman. Despite spending his first months without food, they taught him to sit for meals, something we hadn't taught him but now enforce. This doesn't even account for the kindness and knowledge of the staff who knows my car and Brandon's car in the parking lot and the wonderful owner who has worked with us during financial hardships. I drop Remmy off by just opening the door because he is racing to get to staff members who sit and lay on the floor to just greet my dog. I don't even get on the floor to greet my dogs. He has puppy friends and he is easy to take care of at home. If you're struggling with your relationship with your dog or just want quality care, I could not recommend this place enough. We looked at other places and they were crate based with staff members in perfect, non-messy uniforms; cleanliness is impossible if you're giving dogs love and constant attention. K9 Adventures constantly delivers and crate free cannot be beat.

During orientation, was not allowed to see where my dog would board. First concern but I read good…read morereviews so thought we would give it a try. When I picked my dog up after a few nights of boarding, he had the skin of his nose scraped off and a bad cough. When I asked about it, staff members said it was the first time they saw the condition of his nose and the first time they heard him cough. They said his nose was probably from trying to get out and nudging at the door a lot. It looks like teeth scrapes from another dog. They were so dismissive of my concern. We will not be back.
