The shop is situate just South of what was once a large meadow opposite Broadwater Cemetary. The meadow was named Broomfield, where during the 19th Century, there were amazing military parades and cavalry demonstrations, namely by the Arndel anmd Bramber Yeomanry. There is road nearby named Broomfield Avenue, which maintains the link with the past.
