And there's a wine bar across the way. Door County easily fulfills all of my needs on one single street. I have children, but I didn't have them with me, but nevertheless, I made a beeline for the children's section. The kids area here is fun and colorful, with a nice couch to sit on and read, lots of picture books and graphic novels, and a stool for shorties who can't reach. Novel Bay gives teachers a 10% discount every day, which is nice. The whole shop is tidy and well organized, and there's a good selection without it being overwhelming.

This place has an amazing selection, especially of literature in translation and history. There are some great finds if you are into more obscure stuff. However, I don't think the inventory has been updated since the mid-1990s. And some of the books are literally covered in dust. Definitely was worth the stop, even though we never made it to GIlls Rock. The owner seems to be mostly retired and has weird hours (he says he leaves at 3 or 4 if nobody is in the store) so best to call ahead.

They have an incredible selection, including tons of gorgeous special edition classics like Jane Eyre, making it so much fun to browse. The store is cozy, welcoming, and full of unique finds. We were greeted right away by who I presume was Margaret. She was very friendly. Huge selection of items new, used and local. Definitely something for everyone here. My husband found something he couldn't live without. David rang up our purchase. While paying we got to talking about the supernatural (a local ghost hunting group has their business card on display at OtherWorld Books which prompted the conversation) and David explained to us the 'haunted' history of the building itself.
