What I qualify as unethical are companies that take kick backs to refer associations to a specific business. It is my opinion that Chris belongs in this category. I own many properties in the Indianapolis area and work with a lot of HOA's. I have been the President of one HOA and have advised many others. One of the biggest problems HOA's have are in the collection of dues. If someone is having problems paying a fee of $200, turning them over to an attorney and adding an additional fee of $225 is not a path to success. Turning an account over to collection within a 60 day period is unusual for the industry and is doing nothing more than lining the pocket of the attorney in my opinion. This makes me suspect there could be kickbacks going on. Also, I have found thru asking other homeowners that they never received the notice or invoice. Almost every year I have had to contact Chris to find out the amount of the fee and how I can pay. I have contacted other owners and they say they have the same problem. Invoices not being mailed on time or at all makes it difficult for owners to pay their bills on time and keeping the dues current. Chris will not add value to your association in the area of collections. Also, Chris has associated his HOA's with an unproven company for online payments in my opinion. A fourth party for collecting dues is unnecessary and the vendor could be easily hacked. It appears when you log into this system you are providing Chris and another one man office with your bank, account number and password. You have no idea what will happen to your information. I retired from working many years as an executive for a bank and do not feel safe using their system. Living in Silicon valley I can only tell you the method used is not customary. His methods are not customary and it is my opinion it could easily cause liability to the HOA. Add that to every year since he has been involved I have never received an invoice from this HOA. When I have spoken to him he has stated that he sent two invoices. Another time he said he sent three. All I can tell you is I received the letter dated 5/7/18 on 5/22/18 from the attorney for the HOA. I have had no other problems with my mail. Paying my dues is not the problem. I refused to pay online and mailed my payment. This payment was mailed with one other item. The other item was received in a timely manner. I find it very curious that my payment was not received by Chris and no attempt was made to notify me of any problem. There are too many coincidences in my situation. Anyone dealing with collections knows that more than doubling a payment for someone who may not be able to afford this bill is only compounding the problem.

I have been in business for 30+ years and I can promise I am known for my honest and personable reputation. She moved around so much. Indy California back but she never had her mail forwarded so why is that my fault she didn't get her mail. Legal fees. I will admit they are high. Anyone that has been through this would agree. And it's usually 90 days not 60 as Pat D stated. Again her accusations are simply those of an angry lady who felt she was wronged. I have many happy clientele. Many that have been clients for decades. I have worked with small business and HOAs and they love the services I provide and at reasonable rates.
