Ever since Albe left, the quality of cuts at this barbershop has dramatically fallen off. I've gone through 3 different barbers after Albe at Patron, given reference photos, and told them exactly what I wanted. Doesn't matter, they'll still cut your hair their own way and botch it. I paid for a fade and eyebrow trim - they shaved off part of my eyebrow, and the fade is way too short than what I asked. Listen to your customers, otherwise they won't come back. read more

Took my son in for a back to school haircut. He's quite picky when it comes to haircuts. The first photo is what he wanted it to look like and the others are how it turned out. Disclaimer: This is hubby's (79) first trip to a true men's barber for styling hair, beard & eyebrows. He has always believed the $5 cut is sufficient. When we entered The Patron Barber, hubby's beard was longer and way out of control sticking out the sides like filled up squirrel cheeks; he had cut {sigh} his mustache in a weird way; and, hair on top was "interesting" with all kinds of spikes, curls, etc. So, the 'before' picture is actually looking somewhat groomed. Chris made me a great mug of coffee to enjoy while he started hubby on a new journey to look perfected. The whole vibe at Patrons is wonderful. The music had me humming, while I watched Chris work magic. Well over an hour was spent, with each snip to ensure hubby would leave looking sharp and with a promise that some of those homemade mistakes could be fixed over the next few visits. The best part? Hubby totally enjoyed the pampering, getting to know Chris, and the final look. He came away with an understanding of what an expert cut would do for him. And, he's looking forward to returning! Just moved to the Twin Cities and needed a barber. They were able to get me in next day (despite just re-opening after Covid). I scheduled an appointment with Teng for 10am. I walked in around 9:55 and he took me right away! The whole place is super chill and everybody was kind and welcoming. Teng listened to exactly what I wanted and meticulously crafted my hair with my design in mind. He checked in several times along the way to make sure it looked alright and if I wanted anything different. I love my haircut! The price was very reasonable and the ability to schedule online was simple. I plan to be a regular here and am looking forward to coming back! read more

I've been going to El Patron Barber for the last two years after switching up barbers again. Prior to El Patron, my old barber was awesome but his hours were never consistent. Sometimes I'd wait two hours for a cut and I'd fall asleep in the shop. It was walk-ins only so I knew I had to make switch reluctantly. My second barber was even better and more of an old school guy. However, like the my first barber, the hours were inconsistent and again walk-ins only meaning I had to wait a few hours at a time to get a cut. After searching around, I found El Patron which was not too far from me and I've been going ever since. I've worked with both Harley and Teng but primarily with Teng. Teng pays a great deal to attention. He will study your hair, let you know what will work and won't work with your head shape, hair type, and the hairstyle you want. He takes his time to perfect the cut and it's well worth it. He also will help educate you in how to stye your hair if you ask. I've never been disappointed with Teng and you won't be too. He is a master barber and I'd highly recommend him every time. read more

Let me begin by saying I haven't gotten a haircut in more than two years. (My former barber moved on to another career path.) I've looked everywhere on the east side of the metro. I tried Booksy with several different barbers. All of them cancelled or tried to reschedule last minute. I gave up and even tried to do a walk-in at Great Clips and Fantastic Sams. Great Clips had a long wait and Sams was closed for some reason in the middle of the day... which turned out to be huge blessing, because then I decided to try The Patron Barbershop. I booked with Chris Tahti on Monday night and he was ready to go for my cut Tuesday morning. The shop is a vibe, but Chris even more so. Most importantly, HE GAVE ME THE BEST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE--no exaggeration. He took his time. Great attention to detail. I couldn't be happier with the results. THEY RUINED MY BEARD!!!!! I am shaking with anger, frustration, and sadness right now. Months growing my beard, and it's ruined. I saw other beards look great while I was there. I am so sad I can't say the same. He didn't listen to my requests, cut it how he wanted, and did a horrible job to boot. Cut inches off where I asked to keep length, and left 2 inch stragglers everywhere. My 8 year old would have done better! I have been looking forward to this for weeks. My beard WAS finally at the fun stage. Crushed by 1 barber who refused to listen. I would have been better off never coming in. At the end, he didn't even have the common decency to apologize. I've booked two appointments there and both have failed miserably. Both times I waited, over 10 minutes without being greeted and had to get someone's attention myself. I booked a 10AM appointment (right when they open) and at 10:20 the other staff told me my stylist was late and they had no idea why. They proceeded to tell me that he has a client and I'll have to come back at 2:45 or re-schedule. I'm still baffled as to why the client after me was the priority when my appointment was the first of the day. Sadly for me, they do seem to give great cuts (from the clients I've seen leaving) if you can actually get in a chair. The staff seems cool but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I am absolutely floored, and you'll understand why if you look at my previous rating for another hair salon. I've been getting "men's" haircuts for years at varying prices, and skill levels. This is one of the greatest, if not best haircuts I've ever received. I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment, but Steven welcomed me in and asked how I'd like my hair done. I specified nothing off the top, and just a fade and wow, did he deliver. I found it pretty evident how much Steven cared for his craft and doing a job well done. He cut my hair with such precision and attention to detail, it made me regretful that I had not heard of this place before. Obviously, the hair cut is impeccable and Steven's skills are unmatched. What made this trip even more exemplary was the hospitality. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you're welcome there. Everyone here is kind and genuine. It felt like a dude's Spa Day in the best way possible. I booked an appointment and was seated easily. Sergio was absolutely fantastic and listened to everything I was looking to have done (which was admittedly a lot as I had let my hair grow for way too long.) He really took care and time with every piece of my Haircut, Shave, and Shampoo. Every step of the cut was thorough and made me feel like I was getting a truly special experience. Not only a standard cut, but also a razor finish keeping everything clean and feeling incredibly fresh. And don't get me started on those hot towels (truly something to experience). I came in for a sides-only fade but asked that he be careful to blend it nicely with the top. The barber Steven(?) did a great job. Even with simple haircuts usually you will see one or two little things you wish were different or whatever, but this cut is without a flaw. read more
