On the beach there are swings and bouncy castles for the children (at a charge, in season) and there are a few kiosks selling drinks, ice creams, buckets and spades etc. Dogs are allowed onto sections of the beach, which make an ideal place to walk your pooch. There are various cafes and bars loacted along side the beach as well as some arcades and amusements. Watch out for events being held at the seafront, such as continental markets, and try to catch one of the many fireworks displays scheduled around the year - fantastic free displays set off from the sea!

They were looking for a simple beach vacation. But guests have gotten more entertainment than they bargained for. Just a few dozen meters from the shoreline, a single dolphin has been frolicking in the waves and wowing families on the beach this week. The dolphin put on a show for the increasing numbers of beachgoers gathering on shore hoping to catch sight of him.

During that time (I'm now 25 and took my partner here yesterday ) and up until now, not a great deal has changed. This however is not a bad thing. The beach is beautiful, windy at time but regardless, one of the most softest sands you will feel on British soil. The dunes make for a fantastic view and offer some relief from the wind (if you have it that day) I highly recommend visiting this beautiful little town, it's beach and the local town of rye. This isn't your normal great British beach, this offers just something more that feels special.

Forget the summer, that's all Stella Artois, dodgy tats and lobster coloured sunburnt yobs & no-place-to-park territory. Autumn, winter & spring are for those 'in the know'. This place is massive, really big. I was there a few years ago and there was a beached ship the size of a Dover-Calais ferry there - look at the photo! I missed it initially!!! If you imagine a vast stretch of sand running for miles with wrapped up people walking, horses galloping and wind & kite surfers everywhere, then you have Camber Sands. Fantastic place. Camber itself is a curious run of wooden bungalows looking lost and beaten up by the elements & there is a Pontins style holiday camp too. Cripes! Ignore this & Qype Camber for some of the fantastic beach cafes that are about. For dinner & drinks Qype Rye. A beautiful place if you've never been. Can be a little 'cream tea' but there are some excellent fish restaurants too. A final tip is a stroll round Winchelsea. My favourite East Sussex village. Beautiful.

Large soft sandy beaches to lie on in the occasional hot sunshine found in Wales, and swimming, surfing, sailing and kayaking in the sea. There are boat trips from the harbour for dolphin spotting and other wildlife in Cardigan Bay. Plenty of shops nearby where you can buy buckets and spades, beachballs, inflatable dolphins, sunhats, flip-flops and other necessary items for the beach, and there are several good ice cream and burger/fish and chip take-aways as well. A gorgeous place to visit - I was there two days ago and loved every minute!

Nice and quiet beach - dog friendly at dusk…read more A very short stroll away from the town Centre is the great Stone Bay. I liked it better than Viking Bay in town. It is a very lovely beach, bigger than Viking, but also a lot more quiet. It is backed by a long array of colorful beach huts. It is mostly a family beach during daytime and gets more quiet after 6pm. That's also the time when dogs are allowed to run free. Besides that you are allowed to BBQ after 6pm ON the beach. At dusk you have the beach pretty much to yourself. We visited in high season....and it was quiet.Of course for our dog it was heaven. Played a lot and met lots of doggie friends. Just make sure to pick up your dogs "business" pls. We enjoyed this beach, the sun....the quiet. Surely a must-do when in town, especially as a dog-owner.

Next time you're coming to Southend on a day-trip, don't follow everyone else who gets off the C2C line at Southend Central and walks through the town to Three Shells Beach. Stay on to the end of the line and you're in for a treat. East Beach is actually a beach with sand, rather than the small stones which cripple you on your way to the water at Southend's other beaches. The water is great for windsurfing and you don't have to rely on high tide the way you do with the Estuary-side beaches. There is also a huge grassy area before the beach so if sand isn't your thing, you can always set up a few deckchairs and catch some sun. For those who drive, the parking is plentiful although there is a pay and display system. The only thing letting this little gem down is the lack of refreshments available. There was a snack bar by the beach, but this burned down a few years ago and hasn't been rebuilt. It wasn't very good anyway. I understand there are plans to for a new restaurant but this could be some time coming.

Chairs can be rented too. It is a very clean beach right in the town center. Next to is also a Pavillon, where was live Swing Music at the time we visited. It's a good beach, but not really huge and not really different. A quick visit was enough. I did prefer Stone Bay, which was more quiet. And the main point: Does allow dogs after 6pm. No dogs at any time in high season at Viking Bay.

Viking Bay is the most popular beach in the archetypal British seaside town of Broadstairs. The…read morecrescent of sand is one of Broadstairs main draws. The beach at Viking Bay is a sandy beach, nice size and very clean but be warned there is a lot of seaweed around in the sea and at the seas edge of the sea so if you don't like seaweed then this might not be the beach for you. On this beach there are changing huts, summer huts (which can be hired at a cost), a promenade and even a pier of sorts. To the northern end of the beach is a small harbour which is home to a little fleet of fishing boats. Overlooking the harbour is Bleak House where Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield. Viking Bay is a winner of a Blue Flag award it has excellent facilities and in the summer a lifeguard service ensures safe bathing. As well as all the beachside shops and cafes you would need. There is even a cliff-side elevator at the southern end of the beach so very good for people hard of walking and the disabled to get down to the beach easily. This beach is also dogs friendly beach however between 1st May and 30th September dogs are not allowed on the beach. Activities: Donkey rides, good fishing, swimming/bathing, surfing, trampolines, bouncy castle plus other children's rides and nearby a amusement arcade Facilities: Cafe/restaurant, toilets, disabled facilities, first aid point, deck chair hire, sunbed hire, umbrella hire, beach hut hire, promenade and small pier This beach is easy to get to from London (takes just under 2 hours with no changes) and then just 10 minutes walk from Broadstairs station only to the beach. I would definitely visit this beach again on a sunny day.
