I had my small 12 lb dog on the trip with me but explained to Jan that since no dogs were allowed, that my dog would continue staying with my sister at her cottage down the road. I went on to tell her how my dog loves my sister and she would be more than fine there. My dog never once stepped foot on her property. The experience once we arrived at the property was absolutely terrible. The property was in deplorable condition. Weeds had overtaken the 'walkway', the home was so dirty, windows were yellow! Curtains were dusty and filthy. The best part was the blood stained sheets on the bed. The house had an overwhelming smell of old & musty mixed with mothballs. So on top of the blood stained sheets on the bed, dried blood in the trashcan, the smell of musty and mothballs made my pregnant daughter in law sick. I immediately reached out to Jan and explained my concerns. Not only did she not return my text for a few hours, she accused me of not being forthcoming with who was going to be staying, accused me of having my dog on her property, and had the audacity to tell me she advertises the cottage as 'rustic', and as 'grandma's cottage' and if I wanted stainless steel and granite that I should've booked elsewhere. She never once took any accountability and lied to Airbnb trying to screw me out of my money. I would avoid doing any business whatsoever with Jan Davies. BEWARE!

It was clear that they do their best to make their guests comfortable. The studio had everything I needed. Jan was kind enough to loan me a couple of appliances when I needed them. The place is conveniently located and is almost on the 24 bus line that serves U-M. It is also very close to other lines (6 and 5). Briarwood Mall is close by as well. I am very grateful to Jan and Larry for showing me around Ann Arbor, being there for me when I needed an urgent ride, and helping me with my move. I understand that these are not standard services, but it is nice to have good neighbors when you are new to town. I am frankly puzzled by some of the comments on this site. They do not reflect my personal experience. I have nothing but praise for the place and the management. After all, having stayed there for 90+ days should count for something. Enough with the negativity! I would highly recommend Davies House Inn and I would definitely stay there again.

Although they cleaned and replaced, this should all be done before quests arrive and not because they complain. Could be a nice home but needs lots of repair and maintenance.The location is also a dicey neighborhood. Some nice homes next to neglected and trashy rentals. Never again.

One was $12,000 more than our original house and another was close on price but did not have the same amount of rooms or space. Dealing with customer service was a nightmare. Nobody would help try and solve the issue. They would not even consider covering some of the costs to try and find a property that we could agree on. Good luck to you if you choose this company. TownePlace Suites is a Marriott property located on Briarwood Circle along with other nicer hotel…read moreproperties recently built in the last 10 years or so. It's also walking distance to Briarwood Mall. The staff here have always been warm and welcoming and on this last visit were even able to accommodate an early check-in. The guest rooms are little efficiencies with everything being clean and modern. I'm a stickler for staying at a clean hotel and this place has been spotless on every visit. There is plenty of closet space and storage as well as a large desk area. I only stayed overnight this time but if I was staying longer this would be a place I would want to stay. They have a fully stocked kitchen with all the essentials. The bathrooms are large and clean. Modern hotel chains are ditching the standard bathtub in favor of standup showers but I still prefer the bathtub/shower combo. There's a swimming pool, fitness center, and a free hot breakfast every morning which is always appreciated. Even if you're just grabbing a cup of coffee on the way out it's a nice added touch. The rates can fluctuate depending on U of M related activities (football games, graduation, etc) but I've been able to score this place for a very reasonable price through third-party like Priceline or Hotels.com.

We had previously been with another property management company for ~5 years, and we lost A LOT of money while with them. We are very trusting, but over time we couldn't trust them, as they're accounting was horrible. Hey couldn't understand the simplest of requests. They used antiquated systems, and we would get statements 1-2 months late. It was just horrible. We knew it was time to change, and to be honest we didn't think there would be a huge difference between management companies. We interviewed 5 places. One place has been in the business for a long time, but he was too arrogant, and the others were nice but didn't seem to do anything extremely special. We settled on one, not J Keller at first, and then Jon convinced us to just give his company a shot so we switched last minute. We were impressed by his motivation and professionalism. We can only thank Jon tremendously now for convincing us to go with him because for the first time in years we are in the black. He is honest, organized and uses updated technology for accounting. His team is excellent at communication, and we trust them 100%. We were at API t where we couldn't afford the losses we were taking when with the other management company, but we have now decided to keep the properties since with J Keller they are in excellent shape, and we finally have cash flow. You have to be crazy not to go with J Keller, and I say this after being a landlord for over 10 years and having worked in the Ann Arbor real estate business. I know who the other companies are, and J Keller is head and shoulders above them all.

It cannot be compared to 5-star luxury hotels, because that's just simply not what it is. It is a very nice, mid-range, chain hotel that offers an excellent option for extended stay. We have a huge suite, with an open kitchen/living area and a separate bedroom. The rooms are pretty new and very clean. The beds are comfortable and the comforters look & feel CLEAN. Complimentary breakfast (Eggs, bacon, toast, french toast, bagels, fruit, etc.) is served daily, and a different (light) dinner featured M-Th. There is always complimentary juice and coffee available to guests. As well as fresh baked cookies! The entire hotel has free WiFi and there is free access to the internet at a computer in the waiting room as well. There is a pool (definitely not the nicest, but at least clean). And the people who work here are super nice. I definitely recommend it, especially to anyone attending the UMAP program at UMich. The shuttle service to the school & hospital is amazing.
