I've been here a few times because they have gluten & dairy free options. However, to be honest it's a tad pricey for the "show" you get. The layout of the restaurant is nice & easy going. Pass. This place is a gimmick and trying to get some "ice cream" is a slow and annoying process. They start with a cup of milk product and a bit of flavor then spread it on a super chilled plate to get it to freeze. Then they spread it around some more... and some more... and some more until it's frozen. Then they get to scrape it off into the rolls....weeeee. Waste of time. It's also expensive to get to "enjoy" this show...~$8. I was under the impression there was a kid size that was smaller and cheaper than what I got but I had no desire to argue after the ordeal. Also, don't ask for tap water because they "don't have any cups". Yes even though I could see vessels similar to cups behind the counter they could not provide me one to hydrate my children presumably so I would instead buy a bottle for way too much. The employees were very friendly and make sure that if you have any allergies they would avoid using it in your ice cream (granted you ask or let them know). There are 4 choices that you have to make: - three bases for which the ice cream is made of which includes yogurt and milk (I forgot the other one) - three choices for how it's made (in a cup, put in a donut, or made into a shake) - the flavor (at least 8 different flavors) And once they call you - as many toppings as you want. The reason I give it four stars instead of five is because while we were eating our ice cream, we noticed that there were fruit flies around the shop and ofc our ice cream. I get it, they're hard to control but it seemed a bit unsanitary. It's also kind of hard to find if you've never been to the area before. It's a very bright shop so all the chairs you sit at is blinding. Good lighting for selfies and instagram posts though I'm sure. There's only one bathroom so if it gets busy you'd better hope there's no line for that too. If we didn't see the fruit flies, I would have given this a five star. Discovered this place today while driving through town square. One of my friends mentioned that she wanted to try it so we did! It is located in a developing area. There are only a few shops open right now but they are working on bringing different shops into the plaza. It is a cute little area to browse and the trees light up at night so it's beautiful. This ice cream place is very clean inside and has a lot of space for seating. The employees are very welcoming and they guided us through the menu because we told them it was her first time here. You can pick ice cream or frozen yogurt and add anything you really want in it. They rolled it up in front of us and gave us the option to add caramel or chocolate syrup drizzled inside. At the end you can either put it in a cup or a donut and add any different toppings that you like. I tried the Namaste which was ice cream with strawberries and cheesecake and I I topped it with some Oreos and it was delicious. They also had some different options with waffles and they also have coffee and lattes. They have a set price of seven dollars so it was not expensive at all for all that we got. I will definitely be coming back here to try some more options and maybe even one of the waffles. read more

Sweet Charlie's is a great place for an evening treat - we all got our ice cream and then sat outside and played corn hole and enjoyed the summer evening. If you are an A/C kind of person there is plenty of seating. And if you have a buddy who doesn't like ice cream, they make great coffee drinks too. It is fun to watch them make the ice cream in front of you and it is nice that there is one price no matter how many toppings. This place will be hopping even more once the area is a little more developed. Highly recommend. read more

Oh my goodness! How could I not review this place! Being new to the area, I wanted to find places to experience and enjoy so I say with confidence I know the in's and out's of Amarillo. This place makes ice cream fun! They folded and blended it and make cool rolled and I cream folds. It was all so fun to watch. I decided to go with a milkshake since I wanted to take my desert away with me. I hope they add a dairy alternative instead of milk since my body some days can handle the diary and other days can't. The reason I gave this a one star is not because the ice cream is bad but Bc the management is bad. They were busy when we arrived. Only 3 employees. There were about 8 tickets ahead of us. We stood at the register to order we waited about 10+ minutes and no employee greeted us nor acknowledged they would take our order soon. One employee walked by us several times but seemed to be so focused on other things she did not even make eye contact. We knew it would be an additional 30 minute wait for our ice cream if we would have ordered. It is not the employees fault they are understaffed but customer service should be important to them...or at least good training and expectations by management/owner for good customer service. So first off my daughter loves this place but unfortunately we will be going elsewhere for ice cream. The price is kinda expensive which I didn't mind until last week. I bought a canned coffee and went home as usual and drank it. 15 minutes later my stomach was in knots and i was feeling horrible. Took me an hour to look at the coffee can since it was the only thing i had for awhile. Found out is was a month past it's expiration date! Went the next day to the VA Hospital since it was closed that night and had to be put on and IV cause of how much I was vomiting and diarrhea which dehydrated me. This coffee contains milk and that was the issue. One month over the best by date is ridiculous for a business like this. I inform them and left my info for the owner to call me and never got so much as a word. Sweet Charlie's was amazing. It had so many awesome kinds of ice cream. They started by asking us what kind we wanted. I got Kiss & Tell which was mint Oreo. Then they called me over to their workspace and asked what my name was and how to spell it. They started making the ice cream by pouring milk and then taking a mint Oreo and smash it into pieces and then that asked if I wanted any kind of syrup and I said I would have chocolate syrup. She wrote my name on the flattened ice cream and then started to roll it piece by piece. There were about five rolls. Next, she put them into a bowl with tongs and asked if I wanted any toppings and I said no. The ice cream was the best ice cream I had ever had. My husband and I came in for the first time. The girls working were very friendly and they explained how the process works. My husband is lactose intolerant and they even had options for him. They have a nondairy ice cream that was actually creamy and delicious. Before rolling his ice cream, the girl made sure to sanitize the area and used clean utensils to make his.
