Management never calls back. Nice equipment but the way my concerns did not get addressed made me not enjoy this gym

This comes after they repeatedly reduced up-front parking quietly throughout all of last year, first by reserving two spots at the front for EMPLOYEES (why should paid employees park in front of customers???) and then later by blocking the corners and some of the fences from being parked on for no good reason. Up-front parking at the new location is now beyond unacceptable for a gym that costs $70 per month, and it's a huge betrayal to long-time members like myself who have been coming here for years and remember back when there was plenty of up-front parking at the old Brickhouse. Now we have to drive 5 minutes further past old Brickhouse and (if you park in the overflow lot which is RIDICULOUSLY far away) you walk another 5 mins to the gym so you waste an extra 20 minutes round trip for every gym day. That's an hour per week wasted if you workout 3x. Who decided this was a good choice for the new gym??? The inconvenient location and parking far outweigh the larger size of the gym, which btw still doesn't have enough barbells for all the racks and still has outdated equipment in disrepair. I have tried to be patient and give them time to work out their childish quibbles with ETV over the closer overflow parking lot, but I'm not sure how much longer I will wait before canceling for good. Shame on Brickhouse for choosing this location knowing that the parking would be terrible and then deliberately making the parking even worse!!!

This gym was previously on Broad River rd., and has been open on Main st. a little over 2 months…read morenow. The staffed hours are M-F 8am-7pm (if you're wanting to join/inquire about memberships). It is one of the better 24hr gyms I've been to... it has free weights (including kettle bells), machines, multiple squat bars, TRX bands, and even a crossfit rack downstairs, and all of the standard cardio equipment (as well as punching bags and even the JACOB's LADDER) upstairs. It has a loft style feel to it. There is one shower in both the male and female bathrooms for those wanting to workout before work or during a lunch break. There are 4 TVs upstairs but cable has not been installed yet (they're working on that). The peak hours are usually M-F 4:30-8pm. I think it's a great little addition to the booming main st!

Being able to come here for my workouts is a breathe of fresh air when compared. Weights are always put back and everyone cleans up after themselves! I am so amazed each time I come here with how tidy everything is. The price is great only $20 a month and you can come anytime, literally! The cardio is upstairs and offers treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, rowing machines, and even a mountain climbing machine! There are punching bags upstairs as well. TVs are upstairs and music plays throughout the gym. Downstairs there is a free weight area, TRX area, and machine area. Literally everything you could need! Weights belts, boxes, and all the attachments for the wire! Love this place and so happy we found it!

*UPDATE* Owner contacted me via Yelp and said that climbing is no longer offered at this gym, so…read morethis review is probably no longer applicable. ---- We went there for the rock climbing. Apparently the current owners aren't rock climbers but took over the gym from the previous owners who were. There's a lot of neglect in the climbing area, but apparently the owners are still invested in the climbing and are still planning on investing money into the climbing side of the business. The walls are plywood, the pads are busted and worn out, and some of the routes are stale. That said, the setter(s) (looks like there might just be one or two) do a good job, the holds are good, and the walls have a lot of interesting features. You can definitely get some good climbing in - especially if you stick to the incline or curved section (the flat walls are a bit neglected). We didn't try the routes section, just the bouldering cave. You're not going to find another climbing option in the area unless you're a member of USC (and from what we were told they don't have a great climbing gym either). Go give this place some money and help convince them rock climbing is a viable business in this area.
