This is what a fish & chips place should always be: friendly, affordable and most of all good. You can see the food being prepared in front of you from scratch, simply and efficiently. It's popular enough in the evening that the usual suspects are ready by the time you get in, given the turnover, and within minutes you'll be sitting on a bench outside, having a whale of a time.
It tastes even better if you've earned it busting your kneecaps fellwalking, otherwise just fake it and people will believe you.
They have a sit-down room upstairs, serving more or less the same food but in a more refined way, still with the same very friendly service. Very decent Cumberland sausage, for a change. read more
