This non-listed traditionally shaped granite monument was unveiled on the 21tst of August 1994. It commemorates the fallen and wounded from the Normandy Landings, a battle which ran from D Day on the 6th of June to the 20th of August in 1944.
It adds some cultural and historical weight to a walk in the park, and rightly so. History is something which Britain is rich in and this is a fact that is sadly often forgotten. What better opportunity to remember our past by taking a moment out and appreciating this monument. read more
