We couldn't be happier bringing our daughter to the Nook 2. We started at 3 months in the infant room with Miss Bryanna and Miss Alicia, and immediately were at ease knowing she was in great hands. We've now moved through two additional rooms as she's grown up. We loved Miss Ariana and Miss Alicia in the infant 3 room, and are now having a blast with Miss Kristina and Miss Scarlet in the toddler room. The Nook 2 has made every transition so great for us. When I say the Nook 2 was a godsend for our family I truly mean it. Starting our little boy Teddy at 16 months after being a stay home mum, I was so worried about the transition for both me and him. But Ms Flor and Ms Precious couldn't have made it smoother for us. From pre start video calls and tours, walking us through what his routine would look like and then having regular updates on the Brightwheel app throughout the day it really put our minds at rest. He loved it from the get go and really developed a special bond with all his teachers. They helped and guided us through sleep regressions, potty training and so much more. The variety of activities and enrichment the kids get( Art, Music, Yoga, Spanish, walks in nature) along with great meals and a caring/fun atmosphere made me feel so secure in leaving him there everyday. We were so sad to leave for preschool this past month but we have kept it in the Nook Family moving to The Nook Studio and couldn't be happier with the decision. We have absolutely loved the Nook2 from the minute we dropped our 3 month old off to his last day. They provided such an educational and comforting environment for both my son and us as new parents. The teachers really cared about our sons progress and worked with him to teach a variety of things. He was safe and well loved. From Spanish, sign language, yoga, music, colors, counting, art, sitting at the table to eat, etc, they were doing a great job providing a well rounded yet useful set of skills. Not to mention the diverse food options they provided. Their communication was timely and they were very flexible with us as we were changing his last day due to our move schedule. We are very sad to move states but happy someone else will get his spot at this school. Keep up the great work! read more

My daughter started at the Nook when she was only 4 months old during the first wave of the pandemic. The Nook has been such a bright light during these crazy times. We have transitioned through all the infants classrooms and 1 toddler classroom since she started, and she has loved every single experience!! The teachers have been absolutely amazing--so creative, caring, and energetic. Our daughter is constantly talking about her teachers and classmates by name at home! They have an outdoor space, and are constantly doing such great activities with weekly themes. Last week, the theme was fire fighters and they actually took a field trip to the local fire station! The Nook got us through a lot of uncertainty during a global pandemic. It has been such an amazing comfort to drop our daughter off while working, knowing that she would be so safe and well taken care of. We ultimately moved and are having to transition to a new school closer to our new home, but we will forever cherish our daughter's earliest days at her first school. read more

What can I say! I work down the street for almost three years I'm so blesses when I found out I was pregnant they had a spot for my baby boy down the streets. I was so nervous to leave him but I told Florisela I wouldn't trust him with any one but them.. and I made the right choice. My daughter attended the Nook 2 from age 3 months to 8 months. The only reason she no longer attends is because we moved out of state. If we were still in Chicago, we'd have kept her at the Nook 2 until preschool! As first time parents, choosing a daycare was daunting. We could not be happier with the level of care our daughter received while in the Infant room. The director and assistant director (Kayleigh and Tati) were super communicative and enrollment was easy and well organized once a spot opened up. Bryanna, Juanita, Kristina, and Angie were the best! As our daughter transitioned to daycare, they helped us develop a solid nap and bottle schedule...and also played a huge role in introducing solids. They sent lots of updates and pictures throughout the day in Brightwheel so I always knew what was going on. They truly cared for our daughter and it was so reassuring to know she was loved there. We noticed so much growth over these 5 months! The infant curriculum was amazing. My daughter took part in weekly music, yoga, and Spanish classes. There were also weekly lessons plans posted. I cannot rave enough about how amazing Nook 2 is! Our son joined the infant room at 12 weeks and are so grateful to have found Nook 2. The teachers, administrators, and chef are so passionate about their jobs, caring, creative, and energetic. Communication is great and we love the constant updates and pictures throughout the day from their app. Plus, his teachers plan the best activities every week to keep the kids engaged, have fun, and work on their development. My daughter started in one of the toddler rooms at Nook 2 when she was 14 months old. She was a super clingy pandemic baby with significant separation anxiety who had had difficulty adjusting at another daycare, so I was nervous about the transition. From her first day, though, it was clear that her teachers helped her feel safe, loved, and secure. After a year there, we have a super social, outgoing, independent, loving, silly, and happy toddler. She's developed such a tight bond with Miss Tati, Miss Monica, and Miss Cheri that she talks about them every day. They've not only taught her so many things from an educational perspective, including ABCs, numbers, colors, songs, Spanish, etc., but from a social perspective as well. She's great with sharing, interacting with her peers, and is learning how to navigate her environment safely. I know she's not an easy child, so her teachers have clearly guided her with a lot of caring and patience. She recently moved on to the Tikes room and she's quickly growing attached to her new teachers, Miss Giselle, Miss Nayeli, and Miss Porcha, who are helping her to grow even more. Outside of how wonderful the teachers are, the communication is great. We receive quick responses to any questions that we have and Kayleigh, the director, keeps everyone up-to-date on everything that is happening, which has a been a huge relief as we've navigated the various COVID waves. We also love how the day is structured--a really nice blend of activities, independent play, and outdoor time (weather permitting)--and how much interaction we have with the teachers. Even though they're swamped at pick-up, one or more of the teachers always takes the time to tell us about their day and how our daughter did. It's clear that they care so much about the kids. Overall, Nook 2 is an amazing place and we're so happy to have our daughter there! read more

I have been working in childcare for over 15 years and I can honestly say that the Nook 2 quickly became my home away from home when I joined the team in April of 2017. The thought and care that is put into every decision by the Director Kayleigh is truly humbling. The environment for the children is warm and welcoming, giving them all the support and opportunity to learn and flourish. The teachers work together as a team, we do monthly activities that create a stronger bond outside the classroom as well. We also receive monthly training's to keep up with our professional development. The Nook provides amazing employee benefits as well. We love the Nook 2! Our son has gone here for daycare since he was 4 months old (he is almost a year now). Here are the things that really stick out: (1) The teachers are fantastic - energetic day in and day out, attentive and creative and we are so grateful for that (2) They seem to have a good system of covering for each other and giving breaks and I think it makes a difference, compared to other places we looked at the teachers really seem happy and I think that carries over into their work (3) They do some structured activities like music and art but leave tons of time for free play, it seems like a good mix (4) It's really nice to get updates through the Brightwheel app - pictures, naps, etc. We even forward the digest to the grandparents out of town and they feel less far away Also they are one of the few daycares that takes drop in students which is a great way to test it out and see if it's a fit. I wanted to update this review to reflect how important the Nook2 family has been to our lives. We always knew our daughter would have to leave Nook2 when she turned 3 but moving away before then feels like we are taking her away from someplace special before it's time. Our daughter was here for 18 months. As first time parents in the middle of a pandemic, Nook2 was the community we needed. Everyone from the Chef, to the special facilitators, to the teachers, to the administrators were so caring, talented, smart, and passionate. Because of them, our daughter is smart, generous, curious and independent. When I say we are going to miss them that is an understatement. Leaving Nook2 feels like a loss, but I hope another family gets to experience how wonderful this place is. We started our daughter at The Nook 2 at just 3 months old - with both parents working full-time we wanted to give her an environment where she would be cared for and where the staff would put her development first. After a year and half I can say that we are so very pleased with the experience. She is so smart and independent and we know that The Nook 2 helped play a key role in that. Every day she is so excited to go to "school" and it's because every single staff member cares and looks after the Nook kiddos! I have been incredibly impressed with the way the staff/management has handled the pandemic. Our daughter has been going to the Nook 2 for about a year and a half and we could not recommend them highly enough. We are moving out of state and one of the hardest parts about leaving the Chicago area is knowing that our daughter will be leaving this school that she has come to love. They have taught her so much and we can tell they truly care about her. I feel so comfortable and happy dropping her off there knowing that she will be cared for and have fun. The teachers are all wonderful but we have particular appreciation for Miss Alex, Miss Nayeli, Miss Tatiana and Miss Monica. Administration is also wonderful and it's always pleasant and easy talking to Kayleigh and Zahra. Could not be happier with the care and support that The Nook 2 provided our little girl! This was our first child and first experience with daycare, so we were uncertain how it would go, but from day 1 the team at Nook 2 made our little one feel safe and brought so much happiness to her day-to-day. We started our son at The Nook 2 mid-pandemic, when he was around 5-6 months old. As all parents know, handing your baby off to a "stranger" is tough during normal times-- the pandemic has made it infinitely harder. So we were incredibly lucky to land at The Nook 2. The Nook team simply couldn't have been more reassuring, or more worthy of our trust. They were caring, warm, communicative, fun, and reliable. It was clear that they genuinely loved and cared about our little guy, and it made all the difference. Plus, the activities and lessons they do for the kiddos are heartfelt and sometimes hysterical (aka lemon day, frog slime day, etc.--we lived for these updates via the Brightwheel app). We only left this amazing place behind because we moved to Oak Park (note: we briefly considered commuting to the city purely for daycare!), and we were hearbroken to say goodbye. We will be lucky if we can find an option half as good in our new hood! read more

The Nook 2 has been our daycare since our little guy ( 2 now) was 4 months old! I remember interviewing places during my maternity leave and the whole thing felt so scary- to leave my baby in the care of anyone else! I felt comfortable with the Nook right away- the director there Kayleigh is very welcoming and easy to talk to- and too many great teachers and assistants to mention! Kelsey was the lead in our first infant room and then we had her again when she moved to toddler 2- she is all pro I feel 100% confident in her abilities to keep the kiddos safe and happy and always learning. The communication is fantastic and we have come to think of the team there as an extention of our family so leaving him there doesn't feel so scary anymore. The socialization has been really great too for our little shy guy. He loves the enrichment classes- especially Music Class and the storyteller- he was even coming around to yoga! The Nook 2 is the most amazing daycare! As a new parent, finding the right daycare to take care of your child seems like an impossible task, and you want to make sure to pick the best possible place. From the moment I went on my first tour here, I knew this was the right fit. Every person who works here is incredibly warm and caring - from the director Kayleigh to every single teacher. We could not be happier with our experience at Nook 2. We had two kids there, our first from 4 months - nearly 3 years old, and our second from 3 months - 13 months. Kayleigh (the director), the teachers, and all of the staff are so genuinely attentive and caring and enthusiastic. There is some turnover, which is to be expected, but they do a very nice job of keeping you up to speed about those changes and we had just great experiences with nearly everyone who cared for our kids. The activities they offer (yoga, music, Spanish, plus a unique lesson plan each week with a theme and various activities to go along with it) are fantastic, the environment is wonderful, and they are great at communicating and sending pictures and updates throughout the day. We were already very happy with our experience, but their handling of the pandemic really drove home how dedicated they are to their kiddos and employees. A transition to preschool and move out of the neighborhood are the only reasons we left, and we were so sad to go. read more

Starting our 6-month old daughter in daycare in the middle of a pandemic was no easy decision! We have had such an amazing experience at the Nook 2! Our daughter started when she was 3 months old and now is 2.5 years, so we've moved up from the Infant room to Toddlers to Tikes. All of the teachers and staff are SO incredible - kind, caring and fun! We really love the classes (yoga, music, Spanish class) they offer for the bigger kids too. My daughter started at the Nook 2 when she was 3 months old and is now preparing to move on at 3 years old. We have loved our time at the Nook 2 so much we are continuing on at the Nook Preschool as well. I cannot recommend this daycare enough. The teachers are caring, attentive, energetic, and creative. It is clear that the teachers love what they do and love the kids. It is obvious that they are well-supported by the school directors, which makes a huge difference in the quality of lessons. I, myself, am a teacher, and I am impressed with the way they use the most current best practices for early education - play-based learning, growth mindset, and a language-rich environment. One thing that has stood out to me about this center is the family-feel and how they always go above and beyond. The ENTIRE staff knows my daughter, engages with her, and shows they care for her, from the chef to the director. Kids come first here. When we have to leave for road trips straight from school, teachers would warm up extra bottles and send snacks with me so I could come straight from work. The cook has brought my daughter into the kitchen "to help" when she was having a rough morning and my daughter loved it! One day my daughter got very sick and when I came to pick her up she was snuggling, asleep on the lap of the director while she was holding a meeting. THAT is what it is all about. I was so touched that she was comforting my child with that extra care in the midst of her busy day. We love the yoga, the music classes, Spanish class, and the extra lessons from the cook (helping to make soup and building gingerbread houses are still some of my daughter's favorite memories). We can't say enough good things about The Nook 2. All of the teachers, especially her lead teacher, Yani, are wonderful. They are warm and loving and creative and really go above and beyond to make both your child (and you!!) feel comfortable. We feel confident that our daughter is safe and having fun. We were initially skeptical about the open layout--we worried it might be too loud and chaotic...but the staff there does a great job keeping each room cozy and calm. They make all the food in-house and we love that our daughter is being introduced to so many new tastes every week. Highly recommend The Nook 2! My daughter has been in the Tikes room for a few months and unfortunately we are moving to the suburbs and have to leave The Nook 2. I am very sad about this because my daughter has really loved her teachers, the staff and all the friends she has made. The Nook makes you feel like family from the very beginning and continues to treat your child as one of their own. They have an app system that they utilize to send updates throughout the day and send fun pictures along. It is great to get a picture of my daughter while at work and to know she is safe and having fun. Her teachers take the very best care of my daughter - she is always happy to be dropped off and talks about her teachers and friends after we leave. The teachers post lesson plans for each week in the app and are very organized with the curriculum they have developed for the age group in which they work. My daughter has grown tremendously since being at The Nook. She is more independent, her vocabulary has increased at a rapid rate and she listens and responds very well. All meals are organic and the menu is posted weekly through the app, as well. The communication from her teachers/staff to parents throughout the day is wonderful as it is never easy to have to leave your child to work all day. I have started looking at daycares in the suburbs and can honestly say I am very disappointed. The Nook 2 has set the bar high and I am absolutely going to miss having my daughter at such a wonderful daycare. read more
