Shawn is an incredible attorney and advocate! Maginnis Howard is the top tier Personal Injury firm in NC, and if they will take your case, you are in the best hands possible. After many frustrating years of dealing with a co-parent that refuses to co-parent, I reached out to Kathleen. Kathleen took up my case in the middle of an extremely stressful time for my family, and within 24 hours, was preparing and filing motions to protect my children. Within just two weeks, she knew every detail of my case, and was able to successfully resolve a show cause that had been dragging on for months. The journey is not yet over, but I am looking forward to working with her in the future, and feel that I've made more progress in the last 4 weeks than I have in the last 4 years! I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a family law attorney!

Last year I asked NicholsonPham to help me with a name change. They provided me with a long list of…read moredocuments to obtain and paperwork to fill out. I struggled with this. I have a neurodevelopmental disorder. I found the list overwhelming and the whole point of hiring a lawyer was to minimize what I was going to need to do myself. I was also seeking a name change to remover my former abuser's name from my identity and dealing with this was triggering. I tried to explain this to their legal assistant but that didn't make any difference. I would have paid for additional help, but none was offered. No empathy was available. In fact, their legal assistant was rude and hostile with me, and with the friends who signed my legal attestations. My experience with NicholsonPham was horrible. Their assistant at that time made me feel awful. What should have been freeing was instead re-traumatizing.

Lynn Prather is an amazing family law attorney. She navigated me through two mediations (separate…read moreissues), a 50B renewal, custody evaluation mediation, and a custody hearing which ended with a Custody Order by Consent in my favor; all with great success. Lynn dealt with my bullying ex and his unreasonable attorney (both gifted with great verbosity); she listened to them to learn their few strengths and many weaknesses and used them all to help me get a better outcome for my case. Her understanding of family law, court, and the Judge assigned to my case and how to use it all to my best advantage was perfect. I have already recommended her to a couple of people and will continue to do so. For women who are dealing with custody and 50B issues: Lynn will GO TO BAT for you and make sure you stay protected AND help you protect your child(ren). I felt like she took a personal interest in my case but still remained objective, and was able to step back to make sure she had every piece of evidence and case law available that we needed to show why I was in the right.

I paid $20 for a bankruptcy consultation and left feeling like I received almost no value from it…read more The phone call lasted only a few minutes, and very few questions were asked about my financial situation. As someone exploring bankruptcy for the first time, I expected the consultation to be more informative and guided. Instead, I felt like I was expected to know exactly what questions to ask, which defeats the purpose of seeking a consultation in the first place. One of the main reasons I contacted this firm was because their website suggests they assist with student loan issues. Unfortunately, I left the consultation without receiving any meaningful guidance on that topic or on my overall financial situation. What made the experience more disappointing was that I later had a consultation with another bankruptcy firm that lasted about 45 minutes. They took the time to understand my circumstances, explain my options, and answer questions I didn't even know to ask. The difference was night and day. When I requested a refund, it was denied. While I understand they have a nonrefundable policy, I do not believe the service I received justified the fee. I would recommend speaking with multiple firms before paying for a consultation from this company.
