I love this place! Was looking for a decent massage after a day of skiing and found Aviva on Yelp…read more Raving reviews are warranted! Called by phone to make an appointment for 2, and they were to accommodate us for an evening session the same day. It is located inside the Whistler village. We parked at Lot 2 and the walk to Aviva was less than 5 minutes. Very unique set up. Downstairs is a barber and cigar shop. Upstairs is where the massage rooms were. Upon arrival we were asked to fill out waiver forms, which took less than 5 minutes. Price was $120 (before tax) for a 90 minute session. We were greeted by our masseuse shortly and taken to our individual rooms, which were relatively small but gets the job done. Lights were dimmed and relaxing music was playing in the background. They offer Swedish massage by default, which is what I got. You start with you back facing up and they work on your back, shoulders and hips. Pressure and placement was on point throughout! I think I dozed off several times! About halfway through the session, you turn around to face the ceiling and get your neck, arms, hands and legs worked on. The experience was excellent and very relaxing. Highly recommended! Keep in mind they do not have RMTs on staffed so work insurance will not cover this! I actually think my experience here is on par or even better than most of my experiences with RMTs in Vancouver. I will definitely be back!

From the beginning of the massage Sasha made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I get massages pretty regularly, but this was definitely one of the best massages I've had. I decided to book a massage at BlueHighways and was so pleasantly surprised by the experience with Perry. Perry is incredibly knowledgeable about injuries, physical therapy, and multiple treatment modalities. He incorporated massage, cupping, and physical therapy techniques, and also gave me great advice on how to support my recovery. The session was both therapeutic and educational. If you're dealing with an injury or just want a truly skilled, thoughtful massage, I highly recommend Perry. It completely turned my trip around!

I got there about 10 Minutes early--she was finishing up with another client--no problem--I patiently waited and made no comment when we started about 20 minutes late. She said she wanted to figure out my energy. Ok--fine--go ahead. She was very chatty initially and asked me to let her know if something wasn't working, pressure etc...about 10 minutes in, I politely asked her to go a little deeper with the pressure (this was a deep tissue massage). She said fine. About five minutes later, she abruptly stopped and said "this isn't going to work." I asked what she was talking about, if I did something wrong--she said no and proceeded to sit down on the edge of the table and started what seemed like she was hyperventilating or something. Meanwhile, I'm naked laying there essentially hostage asking what happened etc..what I did do wrong? She wouldn't answer so I told her to get out so I could change. I get dressed and tried to leave--she has now locked the doors to the space and I can't leave!!! She's nowhere to be found. She finally comes back and is appearing to be in some sort of distress and says she can't treat me because our "energy" is off. Anyway--total nut job and she completely ruined my day. Stay away from this place! I would leave 0 stars if possible!

So I am highly doubt there is such a policy there. The other reason that she decided to charge me more could be she felt she took care of two things at one visit, epicondylitis and plantar fasciitis. In reality, I told her the diagnosis. She spent 2 minutes on my feet. If you want to go there, really be careful about the random questions during the visit, as they can use it as a proof of additional charge. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

They saw me despite being fully booked for the evening, did a few checks and predicted one of two types of injuries and recommendation to visit the ER the following morning when it will be less crowded. They equipped me with an amazing quality brace, and lent me crutches. The following morning one of their diagnosis was confirmed via X-ray at the ER. I really appreciate their willingness to see me and offer guidance. We were so impressed by their knowledge and service that my husband set an appt for a nagging injury he'd been nursing for months. They did fantastically with him too the next day, putting him on a much better path to recovery. If you need help for your broken body, go to Peak Performance.

Booing is easy through the Mindybody app and classes are reasonably priced at around $20 US for a 75 minute class. We did the Vinyasa class. It's a small studio with village views and class sizes are limited . We had 10 people in our class. Everything is already laid out rest to go - Mats and blankets and props are encouraged. The class was very good. The teacher asked beforehand if there was anything she needed to know before class which is important when teaching new students and her practice was very good, taught very well and very safe. In the years since I have been here, I became a yoga teacher with two credentials and it has given me more insight into practice and instruction- and I have realized that many cues are often not the safest such as pigeon but this instructor was great and very well versed in sage alignment. The only thing I don't love and I have noticed it on both visits as well as my daughter picking up on the vibe, is that it does not have a warm or friendly vibe. I cannot pin point it but it does not encourage me to come back - but maybe it's because it's a class full of strangers due to this being a tourist spot . Small point as the studio and instruction is great. I felt much better after the class and ready for another hike !

When I recieved no response during the day, I went in at the start of the evening class to asked what I can do about a credit. The instructor didn't seem to belive me to be sick and asked me to join the class or write to the owner but that I had missed the chance for a refund. Unfortuatnely a couple days later I tested positive for Covid. I wrote Emily, the business owner, with a screen shot of the google listing. She implied that I was faking it and trying to get out of the class with a loophole and said, "No, we did not get your voicemail and I do not recognize that number. I've been in touch with Google to see what happened. We don't take voicemail at this time." Then she berated me for harassing her employee. Follow up from Emily: "I've processed a refund to your credit card, upon your demands, in the hopes that you do not return to the studio."

The walkway was not very well cleaned of snow and for us golden Agers this wasn't a good thing. You check-in after walking a couple hundred yards from where you park, less if you're dropped off at the turnaround. One area going slightly downhill could use a railing for snowy rainy days. You are checked in and given two towels and a rope and a key to a locker. You need to bring a swimsuit and sandals. After changing you are than led to a room for an hour massage. I had asked for a Deep message and what I got was far from that. Very disappointing!!! My wife had the same experience. Next you shower and go to the different outside areas. I started with the cold pool then the hot pool. Next the sauna on to the Eucalyptus room and the Relaxation Solarium. It's a beautiful property and they stress QUITE! The one pool with a waterfall was closed for maintenance. I like the Eucalyptus Room and Solarium the best. After showering, we had a very good lunch. The overall experience was really spoiled by the poor massages!

The therapists knew their stuff and knew how to get at problem areas. Usually spa massages are just okay - this one was worth it. The spa reminded me of places in Iceland - lots of areas to take on different hot and cold therapies and relax in between. It was great to have a silent and digital detox rule to not hear everyone else's conversations. We went on a sunny day which made the hot areas a bit too hot for my personal taste, and nervous about sunscreen sweating off - but I'm not about to complain about being outside in a beautiful area with mountain views. Also very reasonably priced given the quality of the experience.

Preamble: i'm deftly afraid of needles - as a child i had to be restrained for a blood draw,…read moresecondly i was raised in the 80's in an eastern european family - something like acupuncture was considered as good as snake oil. The story: may 14, 2018 i suffered a horrible ski crash severely damaging my C5-7 nerves from spine to fingertips of my left arm rendering it as sturdy as a flailing empty garbage bag - no electrical signal whatsoever. By November my atrophy started reducing in my arm but the entire shoulder blade area was still unresponsive - my scapula winged so much my shirt would get stuck pulling it off. The only thing i had going for me was the perseverance to heal. So i decided to try acupuncture, i was willing to try anything. During my first session with Chris my shoulder blade area twitched for the first time. Over the next days the area kept 'fluttering awake.' i decided to keep seeing Chris weekly and it made all the difference - in january my healing progressed so much that my physio was giving me exercises he hadn't planned on assigning me until spring. Furthermore, he assigned me 10 new exercises because of my progress (up from 3-4/month since the crash). At this time my neurologist was forecasting a year until full recovery. It is now the second week of may and i have full mobility and am transitioning this month to traditional gym exercises and swimming laps. I'm now just rebuilding muscle lost to many months of atrophy. Chris is a true passionate healer! What makes him different is his approach - no bullshit, explanations in layman's terms, eagerness to help and inform and lastly he is constantly researching and staying on top of the tech/discoveries in his field (it was actually the laser therapy that 'popped the cork') and relaying the info to the patient. O ya, lastly, Chris needled the shit out of me and not once did i even flutter with anxiety.
