I cannot recommend the Monroe apts in Albany ny 1. Car driver windows broken into (along with 2 other cars) 30 days after I moved in. Asked if mgmt could consider finish the parking lot fence by putting up entrance gates. Nothing done. See pics below., 2. Outdoor grounds not maintained during summer. Their maintenance person does the grounds. Grass clippings everywhere, overgrown bushes and plants. Garden beds overflow with weeds. 3. Elevator broke down. Say they r awaiting parts. 5 story building. Elevator just shut down for an e tire weekend. I'm 66 yo and have 14 yo dog that can't climb steps. The elevator seems to be breaking down daily. I've lived here for 3 years and some odd months I've been through several managers owners etc. But the current management I found to be very polite they are not rude they are welcoming and I like the improvements that I've seen. Some of those improvements would be they are running down the list of any old work orders to make sure that those maintenances are priority . They also have coordinated that the maintenance team wears bright colored t-shirts so that we can easily identify that they belong the pool has opened and it's been very enjoyable in fact he gives any kind of feedback on that is getting the keypads would be the best thing so we could have later hours and later hours to the fitness center the current hours do not meet a lot of residence conveniences. Kudos to the things that you have done please continue to give us this level of service and making our homes enjoyable . read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. I've lived here for three years, and it's a mess. It was ok before it changed management and became "The Monroe". Now, it's very bad. Rent has gone up from 750$ when i moved in..to this past month was over $1000. There is NO maintenance unless you harass them repeatedly. Even then, it's still just half fixed. The office manager is unpleasant and unhelpful. There are pest concerns such as roaches, rodents, flies are horrible in the summer. Trust me, you don't want to live here unless you like confrontation to try getting things done. We are actively looking to move asap. read more

This is the worst complex. Been thru several managers. Plumbing ruptured 2 weeks after moving in in November. They relocated us to another unit then tried to change the move in date. Continued with plumbing issues. The shower leaked into the kitchen Into the cabinets the kitchen ceiling falling in. The kitchen sink dropped down off of the counter. Dishwasher nit attached. Stove vent never worked fribtand patio lifts never worked screen door and blind never fixed. Hole in ceiling in living room fir 8 months. Flooding from plumbing issues next door. Electric outlets bad. Would nit hold anumyrhing plugged in. Shower not fixed put fans tile panels over tiled walls instead of fixing the problem. Leak in roof in back bedroom. Trying to add 2 months of rent on after moving out at end of lease. Tacked on additional fees. Rodent problems. Excuse us always. We are going with SONEONE new not well insulated. Furnace never mance. Charge you $40 MONTHLY TO PAY YOUR RENT THEY DONT ANSWER THE PHONE. The worst place I ever lived. Been living here for years and have been very happy, but when the place was bought out and changed to "The Monroe" the place went to hell. It's nothing but threats of fines, so many rules. It's like they are in a constant power trip. They've raised rent several hundred dollars. You aren't allowed to have anything on your patio. ANYTHING. Not even a grill. They half installed new things in every apartment and never finished up with them. They put in new dishwashers, but you have to open your refrigerator door to open the dishwasher. Need maintenance? Good luck. It'll take days, prayers and practically harassment to get someone to come fix anything for you. Do not move here. Do yourself the favor. Much nicer places with cheaper rent and less oppressive landlords. read more

I wouldn't recommend living here. There are a lot of unhealthy factor's in there apartments. There is black mold in our apartment that they will not fix or even try to fix. There is mold in the frigerator and dish washer. Our whole bottom downstairs smells straight up like mold. We had problems from the beginning. The office people have been notified by email and phone. They will not email back. They won't call you back if they don't answer. Their contract states that they will call you when they are going to come over. Nope they don't call you. They will just show up and let theirselves in. He was going to let his self into our apartment. They do NOT care about the people that live there. They just want you money and that's it. They do NOT care what kind of living issues you have health or not. read more

I'm going to get into details but if you want the short version it's basically this: This was an okay place to live until the new management (Beztak) came in and I expect to only get worse now that I have moved. I moved to King David apartments May of last year. A two bedroom townhouse for around 800 in a peaceful neighborhood that is fifteen minutes from downtown Louisville and within walking distance of any daily necessities. They had a nice barbecue for the neighborhood at the office and maintenance was fairly prompt. Granted there was clear water damage in their units that was pasted over and other assorted jank but you get what you pay for. In January of this year there was a notice that Beztak had taken over. Management at the local office had changed. Shortly after there was a tremendous rainfall that caused my bathroom ceiling to bow in and crack. I reported it immediately. It was never taken care of. The neighbors each side of me moved out with similar complaints. In May before I moved I discovered the air conditioning was broken. I reported it immediately and called each day for a little over a week with a constant assurance of, "You're on the list". Nothing was done about it despite the 90+ degree climate until I said I wasn't going to renew my lease unless something was done about it. They sent a repairman to do a simple wire replacement job, something they could have done pretty easily within those that time. At the end of May they sent a letter saying they were going to up my rent by 300 dollars if I did not renew my lease, a term that was never dictated by the contract I signed. At this point I decided I was through with them. Three months later I am still waiting for my security deposit to be refunded. I called Beztak accounting office and apparently there is a check for 150 dollars issued to me somewhere in the ether. When someone at the King David office does actually pick up the phone I am told, "I'll look for it" before being placed on hold for ten minutes and told, "Sorry, I couldn't find your soda-sorry I mean check. Don't know what to tell you." (For real) I called back a week later to see if it ever turned up and was placed on hold for three hours. There were two pauses in the hold music-presumably to see if I was still tying up their line. I contacted the secretary/executive of Beztak (Yeah, it's one of those companies) to see if they could assist since I suspect King David either bungled it or pocketed it. It has been a week since then and I have not received a response. So clearly at some level, either above or below, this place JUST does not care. And when they don't care then guess what? That neighborhood with the nice neighbors is going to room whoever has the money. Just steer clear. There is an apartment complex just on the other side of the fence that my ex says is working for her if you really like the location. read more

These apartments are horrible. The management is disgusting. They tack on money on the rent every month, have cars towed, treat residents with nothing but disrespect. I honestly can not say anything good about this place. To go into more detail, we had an issue with our AC unit leaking water under the linoleum flooring in the hallway. We had it fixed once last summer only for it to break again this summer. After weeks of arguing with them we finally convinced them to remove the flooring to see how bad the damage was. The company that came said it was almost unlivable and they were SHOCKED that they were only having them change the linoleum and still allowing us to live here. The never did fix the AC unit and the new linoleum is bubbling up from more water running under it now. We were fortunate enough to find a much better and bigger apartment for cheaper than what we pay for our run down one bedroom here and will be leaving within the next week.
