I brought a delicate irish linen handkerchief in to be monogrammed with my new initials for an old tradition. The tradition is to wear the handkerchief with my bouquet when I walked down the aisle at my wedding, and then keep it as a keepsake for my first child. When I brought the NEW item in for embroidery, we carefully inspected it to make sure it wouldn't be too delicate for the embroidery. Never during that interaction (which took about ten minutes) did either myself or two staff members note any stains on the item. I then left the item assuming all was well. I returned a few days before my wedding to pick it up, and the monogramming looked fine but there was a STAIN right under the monogram. Before I said something, a staff member who claimed to have worked on it said she hoped I liked it bc they were worried about how delicate it was. I said it was fine but wanted to know where the stain came from. She said it was from the "steaming"?? and that it would go away when it dries. I now know that this is also not true with some linens. I assumed she was telling the truth though, UNTIL one of the original staff members who looked at the item when I first brought it in just INTERRUPTED us, and pointing her finger at her to say, almost yelling, "NO, that stain was already there when it was brought in." The nice staff member I was speaking to before we were interrupted even argued back with the other staff member to say that it wasn't there and was due to steam. I just got so angry and left. I don't like being lied to my face and I had already paid. When I went to have it cleaned (again, another expense due to this), two qualified cleaners sources told me it was either grease from food someone could have been eating while working on my linen, OR It could be grease from their monogramming tools. Idk but all I know is I have a family heirloom with a stain now and I feel cheated. I would not recommend this place. read more
