The Model Experience is an amazing group to work with to jump start your modeling career. My younger brother since I can remember has always wanted to be in the spot light. His dream is to one day make it on the screen. Although my brother has all the best qualities, tall, dark and handsome (He's definitely model material). What he lacked was confidence and experience in this industry. I can honestly say that The Model Experience truthfully helped him break out of his shell. He gained so much knowledge from the staff. They truly have your best interest in mind. He now has the confidence, experience and technique he needed to gain the attention of all the designer's looking for up and coming models. Building your portfolio is a must in this industry. You'll really need a group of professionals to help you accomplish this. I felt The Model Experience did their job by helping my brother and it didn't hurt that this company is well connected. They definitely know the in's and out's. One states they've worked with TME before but they're only now reviewing them? I call BS. There will always be someone who praises entities that prey on others...their experience may well have been positive and I don't argue that; but, supporting such a business that is obviously predatory and to do so as these last two (one review accounts) have done, is suspect. Pay heed, people. Original review: 10/17/25 There are reputable modeling agencies out there that hopefuls should take the time to find and apply to. TME is NOT a modeling agency...it's in the name, they're an 'experience' that has nothing to do with the industry. However, unfortunately, they are an expensive experience that doesn't really prepare anyone for the runway's of the world. It's more of a predatory experience where they require you to 'sell tickets' (so they can get rich) and will demand you repay the difference if you don't sell them all. Fact is, that those attendees lining the runway are moms and pops, family and friends, basically anyone feeling sorry for you and willing to purchase a ticket. Some hopefuls just pay the difference if they can't find enough purchasers. How degrading is that?! The 'training' to walk class offered is by some lessor celebrity who feels entitled to teach for 5 minutes some basics. Some hopefuls feel this is an awesome experience while others are not so impressed and wondering why they had to 'pay to play' in an industry known for paying models to walk for them. THIS IS NOT THE INDUSTRY. IT IS NOT REAL. TME is one of many businesses popping up that have adopted predatory practicies to milk desperate, aspiring models, by putting on flashy (party) events and selling tickets, charging the designers and various vendors $$$ with various fee structures included on an on-going basis, etc. It's quite profitable and there seems to be an endless supply of hopefuls out there to grift. Additionally, these businesses can be rather hostile. You have to sell all tickets or they come after you for the difference with threats (perhaps there's a legal document that empowers them?) and this 'fee to play' is often over $500! You have to wear whatever the designer requires...even if it's completely wrong for your body type, etc. If you say no to the outfit you don't walk (even if you sold all your tickets!) You're also expected to pay a fee for photos with some reporting never receiving their images! And some participants have reported having their possessions stolen - one even claimed a designer ran off with some item of clothing. Seems the security there is lax. Overall, I would never recommend TME to anyone I actually cared about. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone I didn't care about - I'm not that guy. But for some, it appears to be an exciting and rewarding experience; and, I challenge that many of those people likely have far lower expectations or were somewhat privileged - as some certainly have been - and that may be for a variety of reasons; but, one that comes to mind is plausible deniability: if some feel well-rewarded they'll likely write supportive reviews and make it seem TME isn't all that bad. In my experience, the 'community types' who are more interested in BTS and cosplaying being a model, are the ones attracted to TME - they love to party and pretend they're all celebrities on the runway and in front of the amateur photographers TME hosts. read more

I have contemplated on writing this review for almost a month after a TME Fashion Show in New York 9/11-9/16 2025 because it is going to be extremely critical. However, I'm sure regardless of my review, the Show will continue. That's great! Because we all like a good party. On a serious aspect, take into account ALL the negative reviews of this show ONLY as it pertains to becoming a Model for a reputable Agent or being in the mix of Networking looking for serious Modeling Agencies. However, if you like to party and looking for Entertainment during NYFW for a "select" cultural experience, by all means enjoy the festivities because this is an experience for you. NYFW "Festival" is the correct wording because that is exactly what it is, a Festival. However, if you are serious about your modeling career, you do better finding a reputable photographer for a good portfolio (as the photos from my client's TME photoshoot delivered blurry), putting on your best fashion and purchasing "real" NYFW tickets to open Designers, attending the after parties and Networking. You will basically spend the same amount of money maybe upwards an extra few hundred dollars as the VIP tickets for this Event are only 100.00 less in difference versus a real NYFW VIP ticket for select open designers. Follow the dates for NYFW, prepare for the day by saving your money and spending it more wisely on better odds with your Modeling career. Don't chase the dangling carrots. This event plays on the mental and heartstrings of those who have an aspiring desire to become successful Models with reputable Agencies and this event seriously lacks the networking resources for this to happen. This is not the Event to attend if you are serious about your Modeling Career. If you just want the "Experience" to have a fun night of entertainment encompassing a mini concert, with live music, Alcoholic beverages, Spot lights, with "models chasing dangling carrots" to walk a runway wearing misnomer designer clothes (unlike my Client wore clothes from his own closet) which I inquired about this and TME assured me he will be wearing the Designers clothes (This did not happen), this is the perfect event for you! A party; a festival! If you're serious about your Modeling career, be professional about it, take a fast detour, exit stage left and walk that real "run"way like a Model to a real NYFW ticket and network experience! TME is not for Models serious about their modeling careers and this review is only for those Models serious about their modeling careers. read more

I attended the most recent event in LA and had an amazing experience. Every detail, from event parking to the event line up with each designer's schedule was well organized and well thought out. The checkin and ticket process was very smooth and event staff were very friendly and courteous. I enjoyed the runway designs from glam to casual looks, and even some bridal fashion. The models were of all beautiful of all shapes and sizes . The event catering for purchase was delicious, great vendor areas from clothing to personal care, and the VIP garden had great selection of drinks and amazing views. This day and age if you truly want to be in a show it's either you are invited or you try your put yourself out there for free ! I paid for a virtual ticket to see my daughter model in NYC from a link she texted to me. I checked everything in my emails after paying for the ticket and" the model experience" sent me ONLY a receipt for the payment, they never sent the link for me view my daughter walk the runway. I paid to see my daughter model and the staff there stole from a 100% Disable U.S. Army Veteran ,took advantage of me; and I hope the company feels good about themselves. We participated in the Model Experience as a designer during their NYC Fashion Week Festival Fall 2024. We were lucky enough to showcase a collection of ~32 looks. Overall we were impressed by the models. Although many of them were modeling for the first time ever, they brought great energy and lots of enthusiasm. With such a large venue, the day can feel chaotic. However, with a great team behind you, you can easily push through and create a beautiful runway moment! read more

Walked for them in 2021, didn't take good care of the models. There was even an after party where they had a handful of people stand outside for 2hours in the rain while a handful of selected models were already inside the empty room getting "inclusive" group photos taken before letting the rest if us come in. Second attempt was last year, I sold tickets as a returning model. There was a ticket deadline I missed by a day and was informed that the link won't work after that time. I missed the deadline by a day and assumed I'd need to try again next year, however 4 of my loved ones who werent aware of the deadline, used the same "expired" ticket link to purchase 4 tickets. TME accepted the payments of those tickets after the ticket link deadline abc informed me that I still couldn't walk the show even if all my tickets were sold. After i told all my people I still couldnt participate in the show, they demanded the illegal processing of their tickets back. TME has done nothing about this and I feel so robbed. I had the pleasure of being a vendor at The Model Experience and it was nothing less than amazing. I had a chance to meet Don Benjamin Ave the basketball wives. This was by far one of my most successful events. Extremely professional and well organized. Everyone was so kind and attentive. I recently did the model experience and had a photo shoot back in May and never got the photos. I was told that as soon as you sell your 10 tickets you would get your photos, and I never got them. I've sent out lots of emails and never got any response back. I started calling and was told I was going to get my photos with the fashion show photos all together. I got the fashion show but never the photos shoot. I called again and Ashley told me she would get my photos ASAP within the next 24 hours and I still never got them. That's the only bad experience I had other than that my designer was really sweet. read more

I signed up for this. I realized I didn't want to do it when they said you had to sell presale tickets to the event (pay to model gig?) I politely told them I didn't want to do it anymore, and they understood. Then they sent me another email telling me how many tickets I didn't sell. I am an assistant designer to my sister for Junkie Boutique. We have worked with The Model Experience maybe 3-4 times. Diandra, Ashley & Rio are truly the dream team. They make sure that the models feel confident within themselves to rip the runway in front of their friends, family members & industry professionals. I give them 5 stars because they have helped so many models AND designers. Every experience in the industry is what you make of it, so if you are a model or an aspiring model and you see someone with a camera in their hand - chop it up with them. We all know that the men and women coming to walk in these shows don't have all the experience - that's the whole objective. That is why we are here, to help. Speak up, ask questions, we all love what we do and if we can help you further your career in what you love EVEN BETTER!! read more

This was a horrendous disaster and a joke of a show. One star is one too many because professionalism was completely non existent. They ask you to sell tickets with little advance notice to the show date, promising that there will be agencies and big name people to talk to, only to make excuses as to why none of them showed up. The designers were late, did not communicate with us at all except for the last minute, and did not get the measurements correct so had to scramble to fit us in to something half presentable. My fiancee got a VIP ticket and that was even more of a slap in the face with the VIP section tucked into the far corner, nowhere near the stage where you couldnt see anything, not even a screen. The promised "gift bags" were gone??? How do you sell a specific number of tickets yet run out of gift bags? All in all I recommend avoiding this place like the plague. They make it sound like a great opportunity but what they deliver is excuses and thanks for lining their pockets. Never again. read more

They do send an overwhelmingly amount of emails pressuring you to sell 15 tickets which adds up to $640... I went to the "coaching session" they told me I was unable to participate because I did not sale at least $300 worth of tickets yet.. If anything they should be paying us! the models! hello!? lol What sucks the most is that it states no where in the emails whatsoever, that if you do not sale your amount of tickets you cannot participate. It is no real recruiting agencies at the shows. They're constantly sending you overwhelming emails about selling tickets that cost a total of $400.00. The designers and models are not industry material and very inexperience. Please do not let em persuade with their saturated advertisement trust me this a joke. Mostly everyone involved with this is agency is not savvy in the model industry except Rio and she wasnt even a winner of ANTM. Honestly, the moment i met her i wasnt even impress. it is the worst modeling agency that you can ever imagine. They promise a makeup session, but there just isn't one. You can make yourself up or you get something on your skin that is totally not part of a make-up session. Furthermore, the coach is very unprofessional. She didn't even introduce herself so I don't know her name. The photos from the shoot were received after 3 weeks. 4 pieces and even the worst one. In addition to the amount you have paid for the workshop, you will have to pay extra for the best photos. Furthermore, you will never receive orders from their agency. I've recently been accepted to be part of The Model Experience. So far the process has been smooth and simple. All the staff have been so helpful and patient. They send emails with every detail to help models understand what is asked of us and what we will gain throughout the process. The services that they provide for the experience can be very expensive if you were to do everything on your own. From photo shoots, the coaching class and the fashion show. This can easily coast anyone over $1000. The Model Experience only asks you to sell 10 tickets. You can sell these tickets to your family, friends & even promote on your social network! The Model Experience is a fun way to break into the modeling world. I don't know if anyone has actually ever gotten a paid job from it though. To me, it was just something to do for fun. I personally don't think it's something that will "jumpstart" your modeling career, but I could be wrong. Meeting with the designers was cool, and pretty much all of the girls that I walked with were friendly. Not genuinely nice, but friendly. You do a photoshoot, fitting, and then the walk. So let's start with the photoshoot. I had to bring 2 outfits for 2 different colored back drops. One of the photographers was very helpful and gave the models poses, direction, etc. The other photographer was kind of rude and spent more time with the more "experienced" girls and gave them more shots. My photoshoot was very short (I'm a beginner) and I didn't appreciate getting a shorter amount of time with the photographer simply because I had less experience, when the entire purpose of this "agency" is for UNSIGNED MODELS. Everyone should be getting the same amount of shots. It was fun nonetheless. Bring snacks to your photoshoot because you will be there for a while. The fitting is where you meet the designers and try on the outfits you will be wearing for the actual fashion show. Try to make as many connections as you can during the fitting, and exchange your instagram names with the designers. They were all wonderful to work with and very nice. I never felt uncomfortable or anything like that. They have tents and the bathroom for changing your outfits. I recommend bringing a nude and a black open toe shoe. For the fashion show, you're supposed to arrive 4 hours prior to your walk time for hair, makeup, and runway coaching. The hairstylists and makeup artists are in cosmetology school, and are not being paid to be there. Therefore, I highly suggest bringing your own makeup and styling your hair as best as you can beforehand. By styling I mean have your hair at least blow dried out and pressed beforehand. There was a manager from The Model Experience in the hair and makeup room who kept "forgetting" that I needed my hair and makeup done so she kept letting other people go before me. I honestly didn't care because I came prepared with my hair pressed out and my makeup in tote. She reassured me that I would be next in line. I told her that it wasn't a big deal and that I could start doing the base for my makeup (foundation, contour) and she told me no, and that it had to be a certain way. How does your base need to be a certain way? I wear makeup everyday I know how to conceal and add foundation. I told her that I would just be doing the base to speed things up and that I wouldn't add any eyeshadow or lipstick or anything. Then she got rude and told me "You're good. It needs to be a certain way." I chuckled, whipped out my concealer, and started applying it to my face. You can't tell someone they can't do their own foundation, get a grip. Especially because a lot of the staff said that the hair and makeup was optional. Anyways. I have super short hair. And had it pressed out before I went there. When I go sit in the chair the hairstylist is like "your hair is basically already done." She asked the manager what should she do with my hair, and the manager told her to "slick it down." Anyone who has any kind of texture in their hair knows where this conversation is going. So I'm not going to get too deep into this but let me just say it was very uncomfortable to have people jumping in and giving their opinion on how to "slick down" and "style" my very short hair, which again was already pressed out. Lol. Some other things I wanted to mention: they send a truck load of emails which is kind of annoying, especially since most of the emails contains the same information as the previous email. You have to sell 10 tickets to your show, otherwise you need to cover the costs. Don't expect to get your photoshoot pics back right away. It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't gotten mine back. The "coaching" by Rio Summers is super short like 5 minutes. She just gives you some pointers and leaves it as that. She doesn't make any special effort to help anyone. All in all, it was a good experience and I would do it again. read more
