I really like the place staff was very friendly and welcomed me with open arms of course I go there so often I should have a room reserved . The guys I meet there are more than willing to help me out with any thing I want to do. I go at least twice a month and always have a good time. Awful! Upon entrance a dank and mildew smell hit me in the face. I was horny so I thought I would give the place a chance. I went to my very expensive room by bath house standards and found a used condom on the floor. I stripped down to a towel extremely thread bare. I walked around on the stained carpet where there was carpet and stuck to the floor where there wasn't carpet. Found a nice looking hairy chested man and brought him back to my room for some fun. Afterwards I hit the showers, no hot water! That was it. I dressed and left. The attendants where real nice, the only positive thing I can say about this place and made a date with the tall heavily tattooed attendant. What a soul sucking experience. This place is filthy dirty. Everything in it is old and in disrepair (and I'm not referring to the clientele.) If it is metal, it is rusting. If it is wood, it is rotting or needs to be painted. The linens are threadbare. The showers belong in a concentration camp, not in a modern business where a self-respecting person can use them in good conscience. The bathrooms were dirty, harshly lighted and the fixtures are probably long past their recommended life. Perhaps they could be rescued, if sand-blasted and re-painted. It's really that bad. The prices are not discounted to mitigate the neglect of the amenities and physical plant. Note that the management has not posted any photos of the place on Yelp. The Megapex is big. So attempted to go to this place tonight after driving all the way up from NYC the night before. I was denied because all i had was a valid passport that expired last year because my wallet was robbed the night before when i arrived in Providence. The manager was so rude and defensive for no reason because i was asking questions and for a number of the owner to call later and get clarification on this policy, he even went as far as to make a pretend phone call instead of supplying me with a number and had a make believe Q & A in front of my face (which i asked multiple times if i could speak with who is on the phone) and of course the old fool makes is so its in his favor and pretends to hang up the phone. LOLOL. And still never gave any number, who is the adult here?!? He LIED directly to my face with that whole phone conversation act that was so unnecessary and insulting but more so pathetically embarrassing to himself. Naturally I told him i do not believe you even spoke to anyone on that phone and he rudely shrugged and laughed while shaking his head and walks away... DISRESPECTFUL PERSON! I will not call him a man, you need to be credible and trusting of their word to me a man, he lies and lacks values needed to be a manager in that place! They are losing a client who traveled from NYC, it would have been my third time. I think this will be the last. The more clients you lose, them maybe you'll understand and be more respectful... and honest for god sakes. And by the way, a VALID (because it is a document with photo issued by the state department and had it for 10 years before it expired Oct 2020) passport that is expired is still valid as a form of identification in the states and for traveling with in them (why? Because it is for identity of who you are and that I'm a us born citizen and those don't change very easily at all). It is not valid for travel internationally and last i checked when buzzing me through the door after paying, I'm not stepping into another country!! My expired passport/current or previous passport is even the PRIMARY form of ID accepted to apply for a new passport or renew your passport, yet mot accepted to enter a bath house?? If you don't want my money, fine. Your ignorance is disgusting and will cost that establishment a lot! read more

I ignored all the reviews and actually drove here from Boston. I was able to park right in front..so I'll give them that. The staff is friendly..it wasn't too crowded though. I went on Sunday afternoon. Most of the guys I saw I was not attracted to... I was planning to go into the sauna to check guys out...but it's DARK. I opened the door and..come on now what is that...there were guys having sex in there in the DARK...wtf don't you want to be able to see the person feeling you up? I know I do...the steam room was weird...it wasn't like the other ones I've been too..the steam never clears up so you CAN'T even check the guys out..it was another disappointment....then I tried to take a shower and there was no hot water. I waited a few minutes for the water to turn warm, with another guy next to me doing the same thing...no luck for either one. I left disappointed. I am still traumatized by the view when I opened the sauna door...people walking inside complete darkness and feeling up complete strangers....wt... I will stick to gay bars from now on. read more

This dump is just insulting. The owners have apparently given up and are just letting this place death-spiral to closing down. The staff says they have no contact with the owners, no way to reach them, and no authority to do anything other than take customers' money. Yeah, it's a sex club, but for $25 admission (locker + day pass) it shouldn't make you feel like you've hit rock bottom. There's a huge difference between "rough & manly" and "dilapidated & run down". The TV in the JO room flickers badly, the place isn't vented so condensation drips from the overhead pipes like you're in a sewer, toilets have chunks of porcelain broken off, carpeting hasn't been cleaned in so long that bare feet stick to it. The crowd is a decent cross-section of Providence and Boston guys, mostly middle-aged. There used to be a large area with playrooms but that's closed now. Not much to do but walk the loop around the rooms and wonder exactly when you lost your self-respect. read more

The place is absolutely filthy and freezing cold. The only plus was the music wasn't bad because I brought my own and they played it. Other than that - the best thing in that place was me and my music. The staff was your typical bitchy bathhouse bitches (without teeth, yes, that's true). The crowd was your unusually plump and rather stoic crowd - sort of like you took a nap and woke up on Jupiter - they could've even passed as creatures from another planet - not pretty. I've been to many of these places all over the world, and this place is fine for what it is: a basic bathhouse in a small city. I've never seen it especially dirty; it's no more run down than a typical big-city gym. It has a steam room that gets too hot if anything, plenty of rooms, a big 'living room' with couches and a non-porn TV with movies, and a staff that's no less friendly than any other bathhouse staff. I've never been refused a fresh towel when I've asked. The crowd is pretty diverse in race, age, and body type. I'm tall and muscular, but I'm no spring chicken (in my 40s), and I've never had any problem finding plenty of fun there. Personally, I think that people who go to baths have to be realistic in their expectations. If you're 45 and paunchy and don't take care of yourself, the 23 year-old kid who looks like an Abercrombie ad probably isn't going to be interested. This isn't a fair reason to hate/slander the entire place. Soooo....if you're expecting to find something comparable to places in Ft. Lauderdale or Chicago, you'll be disappointed. If you're just looking for some casual fun in a decent place, you'll be fine with it. read more

My previous bath house experience was limited to a couple of trips to two of the large chain saunas out of state and CBC in town.. The Megaplex is definitely in a lower class than those, but I found it to be clean, albeit quite thread worn. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and I had a comfortable and quite enjoyable experience. The facility is obviously losing out to the competition from the internet and hook-up apps and I hope that it can survive. My disappointments : - No web site or decent Facebook page (WTF??), - The towels were pretty threadbare, - Limited dark room availability, thus most of the action was in the dry and steam sauna rooms. It would be really good if they could convert a block of rooms to a dark room or small maze. - The glory holes set up was kind of lame and the 'play room/tv room' wasn't very enticing for public play, All-in-all, I did enjoy my time there and will continue to visit it occasionally. read more

While not up to the standards of some of the fancy places in Florida with their chrome and steel, the Megaplex isn't as bad as Jim J. People are there for one purpose so management is not going for the Hilton look. The steam room does have steam and at times is a bit too hot and one can't see across the room. Pleasant though and relaxing even if the tiles are just 12X12. The sauna does get cool but it is because people come, open the door to see who is in there and then leave. They are looking to do something with someone, not enjoy a good sauna session. Things change as recently the management opened up 2 rooms into a large gathering place in the annex and people seem to go there now to "play" and sauna does get hot. The lockers are older gym type metal ones and while they do not look like some of the fancy ones available today, they are functional and serve the purpose - lock up ones clothes. A lot of black walls but serves the purpose of covering the wallboard. Showers provide much hot water and servicable. Cold - sometimes in the winter they have heating problems and things can be a bit cool but you can always go in the steam room and warm up. Like any place, sometimes it's good, sometimes not, depends on the crowd. Ranges from young to old. I've been going there on and off for several years and of the 2 baths in Providence, find it the better of the 2 as far as people roaming for something. As Boston no longer has baths, people come down from there along with the Connetticut area. read more

I love the place and God knows I have been a frequent traveler and was basically raised in them. Paris, no matter how you wee it, had/has the best and most diverse bath houses and all the Megaplex lack is the touch of someone who wasn't raised around here, without the inhibitions that most Americans have about sex, and enthusiastic enough to be willing to show the educational dimension of such establishments. I am French, I am 55 and have lived in Boston for 25 years and am a total sex addict and a guru for many.For many years I ha parties at my place every weekends teaching most of my guests the basis of sexual intercourse, which is not just fucking, the only thinking really People here do. The Megaplex is the ideal place to break down those kinds of barriers and taboos breaking. Its mix of clean sleaze doesn't need much to put it back on the trendy list of any serious ass player. It;s the only one of that size in the tri-state and there is at least one day a week when there is nobody. Its unbelievable. You can do so man things in such a place, fucking sure, resting, watching, listening touching... and the only way to loosen up dudes is through exposure. They have to do the time, no shortcuts, Sometimes quantity is what is needed and not quality.The more someone would come to the Megaplex and see with his own eyes, touch with his hands all sorts of dudes' junks, the easier it will be for them to finally be able to ace themselves in this maze and have a better idea of what might interest them. I;d love to manage the place and try to give it a second life.I always wanted do it... damn it, in the eighties in Paris I spent countless hours face down, butt up, stoned and happy. The rules of the bath are simple, its a meat market where u put out what u have to offer and let your self be assessed, summary judged sometimes, getting to fuck some of the hottest ass ans riding the hottest dicks around in ways you couldn't do anywhere else.and most-of all, It teaches to accept yourself as you are, and not being scared to surrender yourself to the needs others and also being able to know where you stand in the middle of it all. No more VGL when the VGL is found being a totally challenged dude when it time to perform. .No more fake pics and weird pseudonyms, you are there as is and in the long run, you understand better what people are looking for and whether or not you can get a piece of the action. WHAT A DUMP!!! I went there last night only to be greeted by a toothless (but pleasant) clerk manning the front window. The locker room was carpeted (yes, carpeted) and just filthy, filthy, filthy (and no, I'm not a germ-a-phobe or anything but this was just over the top dirty). The lockers were rusty and had seen their better days long ago! The place is large and simply freezing. I couldn't get warm at all (and no, I don't have a thyroid problem!). The dry sauna is in no way a dry sauna. It's not hot!! In fact it was barely even comfortably warm! The dry sauna is a dark little cubbyhole where the least desirable of men suck each other off. The steam room is hardly a steam room. Small bellows of steam enter the room but fail to fill it. It's only warm in there at best and is in no way a hot stream room. It wasn't hot enough in their to even warm me up. The seats are made of that cheap 12x12 black tile which was cracked and broken. I even got a skin graze my lower butt cheek sitting on this broken tile. The shower room was well lit but very run down. The corners of the shower room walls were dirty and rusty and I had to be careful where I stepped while inside the shower room because of the loose tile grout. The overall aesthetic was DANK. Yea, dirty, unattractive and just DANK. It reminded me of a similar place I visited in Nicaragua. In a poor country like Nicaragua I expect poor conditions, rust, and a sub-par environment, but not in the USA. Honestly, the condition and physical environment of the Megaplex reminded me of something in the third world. It wasn't sexy, it wasn't warm, it wasn't nice. It wasn't nice at all. I have no complaints about the patrons. I was too cold to have any fun with any of the guys and was grossed out by how unsanitary the whole place felt. I lasted less than 1 hour before getting dressed and leaving. I remember saying to myself "write a review about this place ... let other guys know not to throw their money away" If you want to be disgusted, cold, and just all yukked out then go to the Providence Megaplex. In my opinion the State of Rhode Island should shut it down! It's one NASTY, DANK, ICKY place! read more
