The Meat House is a golden nugget pandemic find for me. It's an Edmond-y version of a bodega, with a prideful selection of fresh cuts of meats (beef, pork, chicken). This place will definitely take your backyard grilling game to the next level. On one occasion in, the butcher team was able to provide me with a cut of exactly what I was looking for (porterhouse steak) from a selection they had in the back. Though their footprint is small, they stock a high quality selection of local and national brands for everyday needs things like: eggs, milk, bread, honey, beer, pickles, balsamic vinegar, fish, a small handful of fresh produce, specialty cheeses, and the list goes on. My most favorite Meat House find (beyond the beef) is Jan's Pickles. Jan's Spicy, Sweet, Garlic, Dill pickle is about the most perfect pickle ever. Was in the area (soccer fields nearby) on my way home from work!!!! This place has the meat you need ! The staff is so friendly and will educate you in cuts and your meat selection. Krystal did a FANTASTIC job of getting my order prepped as I couldn't decide on just one item. Her professional attitude and getting answers to my questions... Top notch. Should be commended! They have large amounts of meats in the case...but I was here for the chicken...it caught my eye! I went in for some random meats to throw on the grill for this evening. Chicken breast x 2 (smokehouse seasoned, garlic pepper) Italian sausage x 2. Jalapeno Kielbasa x 1.... They took great care of me! I've only been in this area for less than six months. To me, my stumbling across The Meat House was the equivalent of finding out that you've inherited a great deal of money that you never knew existed. I would admit that this shop being attached to a bank threw me off guard at first -but- any reservation that I had quickly dissipated upon walking inside. The storefront did however have a professional logo and looks very nice from the road. My son adoringly calls it the cow store. But the instant I walked in I was impressed with a neat, tidy, well laid out little shop with friendly staff dressed in polished uniforms. I was greeted promptly and welcomed into the store. While the Meat House is not very large it packs a punch for what they offer. On my first visit I started small and just ordered 1 pound of ground beef. I after I got home and cooked up the hamburgers for our family dinner - I was blown away! I will admit I am pretty picky about the meat that I purchase. I've said time and time again over the years that I haven't had good ground beef and a fabulous hamburger in a long while. In fact, not since my childhood have I had such a burger! My mother would always go to our local butcher to get the ground beef for our meals. Well, I can say with all certainty that my opinion has changed since I found The Meat Market. Their ground beef is top notch! On my next visit I returned to buy more ground beef AND I also purchased some of their beer bratwurst. Now my tiniest tot is a pretty picky eater and she thought the bratwurst was the best thing since sliced bread! Well you know what this means... I've got to go back and get more ground beef, more bratwurst and this time I purchased rib eye. Look... I'm an East Coast girl... which means I have to have a Philly cheesesteak from time to time. I made a special request and asked if they could slice the ribeye paper thin for me. He asked me if this was for a Philly cheese steak and if I minded if it fell apart while cooking. I grinned a huge smile from ear to ear and said emphatically, "No I will not mind at all" I left with exactly what I was looking for. I haven't been able to get steak like this in many years. On a different note I also make my own handcrafted soap. I asked them if they would sell me beef tallow to use for my soap. I explained to them exactly how I needed it and they were very sweet and kind to accommodate me. They called me when my order was ready and I went in to pick up my beef tallow along with several other amazing goodies from their shop. To give you a idea of what you can find at the market I will say that they sell a variety of rolls, deli items, desserts, meats, poultry, sausages, pre-marinated selections as well as seafood. They also have a small selection of fresh vegetables. In addition to that they have several specialty items that are bottled on shelves in the back. They also have a cold case of various items such as sauerkraut, cheeses etc. There is a freezer case full of packaged meats and other frozen items. I was also pleasantly surprised on my first visit to see that they also stocked honey and specialty olive oils. Oh and let's not forget the little doggie biscuits! So cute!! Here's the wonderful part...that sadly I wish I knew about on my very first visit... they have a rewards system!!! I probably would have already earned a reward or two (ok maybe 3 or 4) by now but I still am very happy to know that I am now enrolled and can begin to accrue points from this point forward. Oh this is very dangerous for me. I love nothing more than a specialty grocery store... and this one is fantastic. On my first time in, I was proud of my restraint. I managed to only get what I came in for, some flank steak and some chicken. I went with the lemon pepper chicken and I'm so glad I did - it was fabulous. For father's day, I bought my husband a Rec-Tec smoker, so I imagine this will be a frequent stop. We love to entertain, especially in the summer, and the new smoker makes cooking, even for a big crowd, a breeze. Buying the pre-marinated meats from here means absolutely zero prep. I'm sure the next time I go in, I'll be in the danger zone, since I now understand they have so so much more than meat! read more

Can't believe this is my first time here. I have now lived near The Meat House for 2-years, but never thought to stop in until now. I'm not a huge carnivore, but my fiancé is. It was nice to see a wide selection of steaks, chicken, fish, sashimi grade tuna, and even marinated steaks and chicken. They also have an prepared food area with pasta salad, some veggies, and some desserts from La Baguette, and another bakery. When we went there weren't much "grocery" items, but we did see some condiments and pickles. The workers were helpful, and their meat selection was plentiful. Definitely, a good place to buy some quality steaks to grill at home. I'm sure my fiancé and I will be back soon, because he loves steak. read more

The Meat House is Ok. They have a good selection but you definitely pay for it. They are on the pricey side. $29/lb for a ribeye that isn't grass fed seems a bit much. I didn't really enjoy my interaction with the employees. While I was trying to decide between two different cuts, I could tell the lady helping me was irritated I didn't have an immediate decision. She huffed as she looked around waiting on my choice. They were about to close in 15 minutes, so I get it. But still, not a pleasant experience feeling rushed. read more

This is a cool little place. Beautiful and colorful Hawaiian flowers outside! As soon as you walk in it's got a fresh,clean, and orderly atmosphere. There is plenty of sauce and cheese options. I expected a broader selection of meat but they did have some good choices. I even saw a woven bacon meatloaf! They also have dairy products and iced down glass bottle sodas. We got asparagus chicken, coyote chicken, ribs, and brisket. The asparagus chicken was sooo good(also had cheddar in it). Have not tried the rest yet. I've bought everything from sliced boars head meats, pork chops, ground beef, steaks, chicken, and shrimp to produce, breads, and deli items. We were never disappointed. I really enjoy this store. The workers all seem to be knowledgeable about their selection and cuts/quality of their meats. As far as Edmond goes I feel like they have the highest quality meat products and I regularly go there for events, special, occasions, and summer grilling. Despite that, there's something here for everyone whether you eat or don't eat meat. As an omnivore, I still shop at the Meat House for my meat, and ready made side dishes that they offer! Now, something you might not know is they offer Thanksgiving turkey, ham, and side dishes. You can preorder the turkey and ham cooked or uncooked. The side dishes here are amazing! I have a small family and cooking a huge Thanksgiving meal can be quite tedious so I come here to buy some of my favorite sides that are harder to cook the evening before Thanksgiving. Once you step inside, look to your left. There are several samples of what they are cooking or something special for you to try. No visit to The Meat House is complete without a little flavor to savor as you shop. Deli meat? They have Boars Head! Baked goods? They've got pies and pastries! Beef, chicken, fish, pork, you name it, they have it! Seafood? Bison? Cheese? Olive oil and balsamic vinegar? They have it! They even have local cheeses, produce and some things you cannot find anywhere else. Being a Jersey Gal myself, they won me over just having Taylor Ham in the packaged foods area. (If you're asking what Taylor Ham is, let's just say it's a religion back East...much like football is here in Oklahoma!:) A mix of old time butcher shop and gourmet grocer, these folks know their meat and are more than willing and happy to talk about how to prepare it and help you find the right cut and special ingredients for what you're looking to make. We get our Christmas rib roast from these guys and dry age it...heaven! No cookout would be the same without getting some fresh ground beef and hotdogs....you know the meat was just ground fresh that day just from the flavor! Our favorite are the marinated steak tips. Easy to cook and serve and so many delicious flavors. They'll even vacuum seal them in a freezer back if you want to buy a few to have around for quick meals. I always have a few pounds in the freezer. We visit The Meat House at least several times a month and every trip yields some new flavor! If you haven't visited them yet, what are you waiting for? Awesome selection of fresh meats including prime beef including dry aged and wet aged, marinated sirloin tips that are to die for, marinated chicken breast, bison, some seafood, fresh sausage and frozen specialty meats including elk, alligator, ground lamb and others. Large selection of sausages, hot dogs and many side items you need for a nice grilled meal. Prices for what we bought were reasonable considering dry aged beef and bison are not inexpensive choices. The fresh marinated sirloin tips were the favorite of over half our crew and at less half the price of most steaks per pound they are a real bargain and couldn't be any easier to prepare. Amazing. My family likes me to grill steaks at home -- but the steaks we purchase in the Edmond area are "hit and miss" to say the best. We decided to try the Meat House... My wife came home with three (3) strip steaks, and I just about passed out at the $60 price tag.... However, those were the most tender and flavorful strip steaks we ever had! We recently bought a bacon wraped meat loaf, went home and cooked it. It smelt spoiled so we tryed it and not only did it smell putrid it tasted worse than it smelt. We figured they made it as an attempt to sell food closer to its experation date( as most grocers do) The problem was that it was obviously spoiled and poorly prepared. The other meat in the store at that time appeared of poor quality and had an unusual smell about the place. I will be reporting them to the health department and advise that this place is avoided until the problem is addressed. We are lucky that it didn't make me and my family ill. read more

When I got there, the butcher had six for me to choose from, all cut exactly how I'd asked and excellent quality. He even threw in some sample beef cuts for us to try (also excellent)!
