Every staff member from the Clinical Director, Isabelle, the house manager , Meryann, the nurse , Massie, both therapists , David and Ben, and all of the MHT's treated me with kindness and ensured that my needs were met. I had a problem with my insurance and Sharon, the Chief Clinical Director, got involved to ensure I received the treatment I needed. The daily schedule is so well curated so you don't really feel like you are in therapy all day but you are really working on yourself and your recovery in a meaningful way. I really enjoyed the therapist led groups that were thought provoking and allowed for open discussion/sharing. There was so much education but it wasn't a bunch of worksheets that you filled out or read from something akin to a textbook. All of the MHT's I encountered were so compassionate and a lot of them are also pursuing careers as therapists themselves which almost felt like a cheat code. You could go on daily walks, to the park, and had numerous opportunities to get out of the house for supervised excursions. I want to address some of the negative reviews. I didn't have any of the experiences that others have but the restrictions and rules that are in place may at times feel onerous or arbitrary but they exist for a reason. The staff is willing to work with you if you are asking for something reasonable. I had numerous requests that were granted and when others weren't I understood why. If you need an elevated level of care, I highly recommend La Ventana.

I have seen several psychiatrist in the past but none have come close to Dr Hill. Carla has been my TMS technician. She has been very patient with me, very comforting and caring. I was skeptical about doing TMS at first, but im so glad i invested the time to do it. I have shown significant improvement, and hope the result last a long time. I highly recommend Dr Hill and the team here.

***BEWARE OF DR K*** I came to Ohana to get my life back…read more They taught me the entire summer how to make the next right decision and life would get better. Yet while having acupuncture with Dr K she was not paying attention (on her phone) and I ended up with a second degree burn on my abdomen forever. The center nor Dr K feels liable. I have asked each of them to make the next right choice twice and neither has contacted me regarding this matter. In other words they are not practicing what they preach. I had just came from a major psychotic break with one of their clinicians and went directly to acupuncture. I was shaking and cold from the experience so Dr. K put a heat lamp very close to my abdomen to warm me up. I have had a tummy tuck therefore the nerves in this area were dead which is how I did not feel my skin being burned for an entire hour. Dr K did not notice either because she was in and out of the room, and while in the room on her phone. I went to the ER and found I had a 2nd degree burn. Neither party offered to pay for my medical services forcing me to use my medical insurance. Since my insurance was in state only within Michigan I had to fly all the way back there and see my primary doctor and a wound specialist. Neither party offered to help with those expenses either. The burn was so bad it took from the end of June until the end of October for me to even be able to stop wearing bandages and applying save to it daily. When approached to be civil and accountable for what happened by Dr K in their facility they have repeatedly ignored my individual attempt to solve this without lawyers and a large law suit. So much for making the next right choice. Be aware of your surroundings the best you can while undergoing intensive mental health treatment at Monima. Not everyone here is concerned about your best interest.

OakView skilled nursing facility is a top-notch location for acute rehab. From the moment you drive…read moreup to the facility, walk into the building and go to your assigned room, you can see the building is very well taken care of and nicely decorated. This is important as it shows their attention to detail. In the room, there is a lovely armoire for every patient to use for their belongings along with a nightstand, hospital bed and tray. The armoire is much nicer and larger than the usual small closet you find in most facilities. The true star of the facility are the employees. The CNA's are always quick to respond and provide you with the service you need. The LVN's who dispense the medication are equally quick to help and all of them have kind words along with words of encouragement for each patient. Unfortunately, I have been in numerous facilities and non of them compare. OakView is fine tuned and runs very smoothly. Administrative staff checks on the patients frequently to make sure all needs are met. Treatment plans are prepared by medical staff. And the social worker is very kind and extremely helpful in taking care of the patient while on the premises but also after they leave OakView. She even called me two days after my release from OakView to check on me and to see if there was any additional needs I had. I was extremely impressed by this as I had never had this happen before. Never was there a social worker that did a third of the work this woman did let alone follow through and show she cared every step of the way. OakView feels like a resort with medical assistance, not a skilled nursing facility. The food is excellent and if it's not to your liking, the chef is willing to prepare something that meets your desires. No other facility I know of does that. If and when I need to be in a skilled nursing facility again, I hope I am blessed to be able to find a room at OakView. I highly recommend it. P.S. They also have an assisted living facility.

I base my review on my personal experience, as well as compared to my multiple experiences in hospitals and institutions for metal health/substance abuse treatment. I entered Vantage Point's PHP (partial hospitalization program) after a brief stay in a hospital to readjust my mental health meds. Vantage Point was accommodating, compassionate, and understanding, as well as competent when I needed a competent team. They also have a schedule that works with most as I was insistent I don't take time off work. I'll mention a few of their highlights: Case management: This is a big one for me. This is the person who greases the wheels and keeps them spinning. This is your go-to person for everything you need, think you need or don't know you need. The case management I received was first class. Psychiatric care: Psychiatrists are expensive to keep on staff even partially, and my past experiences have been 5 minute summaries and out the door. Vantage Point was the first time in my life I felt the doctor was listening to me and my needs. I know I'm not alone, as during group sessions, the clients run a chat window that's monitored and encouraged by staff. Whenever the topic of the psychiatrist comes up, everyone chimes in on how much they like him and how well the care is. Therapy: I've decided to lump one on one and group therapy together as it's done by the same group of clinicians. The groups are solid, and there is a chat window for the group to communicate with each other. I thought it was stupid at first, but now I use it every group. The sessions are real work, so come prepared. My one on ones are work too. We got right down to some core stuff that is affecting my day to day life. I really respect my therapist, which is an important value to me. If you are struggling, don't put it off like I did. Call Vantage Point and find a program that works for your schedule. I promise that my experience is far from unique as I hear every other patient say the same thing on their graduation day.

The group itself was very rudimentary and I got nothing out of it. The next group was a lot better, as Dr. Kajó was very welcoming and the group was very interesting. I did look forward to more of his groups. In the third and last group, Dr. Gitty was nice, but difficult to understand due to her thick accent. I came here after a failed surgery trying to get off of opiates they left me for 30 hours without any medical support or medication they claim to offer detoxification but they only offer it Monday through Friday because weekends there are no available doctors or nurse practitioners And may I say not even doctors there's only nurse practitioners that you can call and talk to they claimed to offer a detoxification, but they don't,NO DOCTOR ONLY NURSE PRACTITIONERS . They told me a doctor would be available Monday through Friday. Only a nurse practitioner WAS AVAILABLE TO CALLcould be called over the weekend. They promised a 24 hour nurse doctor. None of that was true. They promised 24 hour chef. None of that was true. The chef provides no breakfast. He only provides lunch and he leaves a dinner for us to warm up for later. I'm not complaining about the chef. He is a very nice man and Karen one of the therapist. There is a wonderful lady. She really does care about patients. The conditions were unacceptable at this treatment center there were blood stains on all the sheets there were stains throughout everywhere. The bathrooms were dirty. Everything was dirty. They only have someone come in deep clean every two months.. I was forced to Detox in a shared room with a roommate who kept the TV blasting until midnight watching crime murders horrific TV shows that only added to my PTSD and in no way would she turn it down on a high volume because of her hearing I have never been to a treatment center where they placed you in withdrawal with another person in your room without proper medical care supervision or even a therapist even the Uber driver who picked me up said I was the third person that was leaving early because of how bad this place is that says everything the center should not even be allowed to operate What they are doing feels both unsafe and unlawful vulnerable people deserve real help not false promises and neglect there are plenty of other places that provide proper treatment and care please for your own safety look elsewhere.
