The family and I got tickets to the Illuminate Light Show and Santa's Village from The Autism Society Group. I'm so glad we were able to grab one because my boys love lights and I am so glad that we got to enjoy the show from the comfort of our vehicle. It was very well done and the staff were super friendly and told us the directions on where to go and the radio station to change to in order to listen to the music. It was beautiful and very well done. Easy to follow the car's direction and my boys loved it. We were able to roll down the windows and they stuck their hands out the window like they were reaching out. The smiles on their faces were awesome and I'm just so happy that we were able to do this sort of fun events. I hope to make this a family tradition and hope to come back here next year if they're here. ***We came here about 30 minutes after they opened up so it was still early in the evening and before it got super crowded. I attended a huge event that my non-profit I work with was being honored at. It is such a a huge room with plenty of space for any type of large event. There's plenty of parking and great access to several restrooms. I highly recommend this place. read more

It's a Saturday evening, the weather is nice sooo let's head to the rodeo!!! We had a really good time at the rodeo. We found really good seats (even though they were near a mud puddle inside the fencing (this makes it even more exciting when riders come your way). Parking was on point, the restrooms were clean and the lines to the food vendors moved quickly. The group of people we sat with were hype so that was even better!! Definitely recommend if you've never gone to a rodeo. read more

I attended an Alpaca convention at Meadow Event Park in Doswell on a whim a few months back. Alpacas have ranked among my favorite animals ever since I reported an in-depth newspaper article on an Alpaca farm several years ago. [It still exists on the Internet. One of my pride and joys.] Anyway, the convention was held in the large farm building, which is set off to the left as you reach the event park from 95. There aren't really any other markers because the park feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. I felt like the space was perfect. It wasn't overwhelmingly large, but all the alpacas had plenty of space to chill and stare from a distance as alpacas do. The event park isn't far from Richmond at all, and I'd return for future events...especially if they involve adorable animals! read more

THE WORST CONCERT VENUE IN RVA- wait to exit is interminable and tonight basically a free for all because they were so slow to let folks exit creating an epic backup (i average several shows a month so have realistic expectations, it was easier to exit LOCK'N than this place.) my third show here and never again, i don't care who is booked. If you have never been fyi there is no shade , nor enough loos. Hit the VACU venue, Browns Island, etc. BOOKERS please stop supporting this venue, send your talent elsewhere read more

Huge park area. We camped here for an event. Bathrooms were kept clean and stocked. The mansion was open for you to tour , as well as the stables. Great historic place. Lots of camping and RV areas. read more

Saw Hanson at this venue and it was absolutely dreadful. This will be my first and last visit. Waited in a line only to be told to go into another long line since I wasn't general admission. Then they had ONE person giving out bracelets to get into the seating area, another long line in the heat. Only two spot a pots in the closed off seating area. When it rained (not their fault...) we watched water pour into the middle of the stage from a faulty roof. The icing on the cake was people blatantly smoking everywhere in the seated area and security not doing a thing to stop it. If another venue is available to see an act I like, that is where I'll be going. read more

Highly recommend the Christmas light show, illuminate! We go to drive through and walk through lights every year and w're looking for a new place we hadn't gone to before. This drive through light show took about 35-40minutes to drive through, and all lights were set to fun Christmas music. You can tell a lot of time and effort goes in to this show. Cost was $25 per car. We arrived right at 5:30pm, and had about a 10 minute wait. As we were leaving, we noticed the line had grown substantially. So, if you are coming to this light show I would recommend coming earlier rather than later to avoid crazy wait times. Overall, would highly recommend for a festive, fun, and reasonably priced Christmas light show that family and friends of any age would enjoy. And as a bonus for those that are very concerned about COVID, it is very COVID safe as you remain in your car the entire time but get to join in on the holiday fun! read more

I read other reviews about this before so I kind of knew what to expect but ... This is a review for their after hours concert series. I see a pattern on how they do the shows now based on my experience and online. If there are 3 total performers then the doors / gates are at 5 pm , the first opening act is at 6 pm - they started on time. Second act is at 7 or 730 and the headliner is at 830. They are at least 30 minute breaks in between. I found most of this out after the fact. I wish I knew before .... So my small group parked there at 6 pm on the dot. We had reserved seating and even though we only had 4-8 people in front of us trying to get in with the security and ticket scanning at the gate we only somehow made it in at 6:24 pm. How does that even work? I mean on one hand extra security is nice but that is so slow with almost no line. They have about 5 portable restrooms each in 3 corners, and 1 VIP portable one. I personally did not see any others. So that is only 16 portable ones for 1000-5000 + people ..... Speaking of which it got super crowded. The general admission seems to have no cap on the number of people and you can tell. I could barely move any time I went near the lawn area. Even with reserved seating I could barely see the people on stage. Since I was there for over 4.5 hours I needed to hit the restroom and by the end of the evening literally not a single one had toilet paper in it .... Literally .... Also the DJ person said the headliner will be on stage "right after this song" but he did not until about 15 songs later ... why did the DJ even say that? I could have looked at the food / merch but apparently not. Also the reserved seating is small, dirty, torn and ripped chairs. The whole set up feels hastily and cheaply made even though I know this is at least their second year doing it. I don't know if and where you can get tickets in person since this place is an empty field most of the time. It was $22 ish extra in ticket fees per person. I usually try to get tickets in person but I did not even know where I could go get them for this. For general admission...I don't know how they saw a single thing. The performers were actually good. The headliner was great. Besides it being far away the stage itself is nice. Though unless it's one of my favorite artists ever I don't see myself returning. It's not worth the hassle. Also to get out of the venue it takes 30-60 minutes at least since everyone leaves at the same time. See the tickets are $30-150$ + each. All drinks are priced 10$ + each for alcohol. One lemonade was $8.75. So there is no reason the venue can't afford to fix the situation. Adding more restrooms would help. If they get those white trailer restrooms they have at the state fair it would make it much better. I know y'all can afford it. Anyone here spends about 2-5 hours at the concert so we will all run into the same issues. Especially since most people drink. I went to their innsbroke after hours series multiple times before and did not have this many issues. The venue itself is truly terrible. The restroom situation is bad. It's overcrowded. The seats are small and dirty and packed together. Unless it's one of your favorite singers ever I would not bother. For a casual concert experience look literally anywhere else. Even looking at YouTube on your phone is a much better experience. This is my first review in a long time and it took me over an hour to write. Venue: get more restrooms and or get those trailer restrooms they have at the state fair. read more

Great outdoor venue. Uncovered seating, huge stage, miles of meadows all around. We enjoyed our concert and the personable service! I do wish the grass was mowed between our seats, the port-a-potty, and the food vendors. read more

Worst venue I've ever been to. I wish I could give zero stars. They are rude and demanded I go back to the front to get a wristband to prove I'm 21. We were in platinum seats and expected to be treated a little better and at least like a human. I had forgotten my glasses and needed to run back to the car to grab them as it was a night now. NOPE! No reentry. So I had to sit through the whole show not being able to see with prescription sunglasses. What a joke. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. Today me and my friend were looking for somewhere to look at some local lights, ai go online and google "drive thru lights near me" and this park came up. Once we got here we waited about a hour and 15 mins before we came to a booth and a sign. We were under the impression that it would be free because there was no pricing online, but that wasnt a problem. The price wasnt worth the terrible music and the lights are ok maybe if there was a better selection of music I would have enjoyed it more.. also i havent ate all day and i been here since 7:45 pm its 10:13 and im still waiting to get out.. read more
