They serve local beers and good smoothies (and also orangeade but it's not homemade and I do not recommend it AT ALL, it's just some kind of Fanta and it made me sad). I frequent the area about once a month and no visit is complete with a visit to Haydens. At the end of the high street, it has a prime location for people to pop in for a coffee and a snack in between their tour of the town but they also have great options in their breakfast and lunch menus. I, myself, always have to have at least one meal here with either a bacon sandwich made with locally raised pork, or a plate of their amazing pancakes, with a lot of times both of them since I have trouble deciding! As well as locally sourced meats and produce, everything else on the menu is home-made and hand cut, which shows in the quality and attention to detail of the food on offer. Gluten-free, vegetarian and most other food intolerances are catered for. There is an area at the front that feels cosy like your living room and the back of the building opens up with a bright and spacious conservatory complete with balcony seating that overlooks the River Rother towards Rye Harbour and beyond. If you need a room for the night they also double up as a B&B with a choice of 8 large and tastefully decorated bedrooms that all come with en-suite and lots of other amenities. Lovely interior although at present no indoor or outdoor seating. Not sure if this was different prior to Covid as there is a wide outdoor sidewalk area and the inside is similarly spacious and could probably accommodate a few tables. Offerings vary depending on your taste and just how chocolatey you enjoy your drink. Percent chocolate content and other flavour note descriptions are on posters on the wall behind the counter. You can take your pick of hot chocolates, milkshakes and iced chocolates whatever your fancy. There is also the normal fare available you'd expect at a coffee shop mochas, lattes, americanos and the like along with pastries.

Very cute farm shop in the junction of the roads leading to Rye and Camber. It has ample parking…read moreand the choice of tea/coffee/cake/Pimm's and out door seating at the farm hop, or hot food at Beryl's Cafe, which I haven't visited yet, but will do and will review later (watch this space!) The shop stocks lots of very fresh local produce (ducks' eggs, meat, cheese, bread, veg). It also has a great selection of dry products such as whole home made cakes you could easily pretend were your own creation, a fantastic selection of crackers for cheese in every flavour (the crackers, not the cheese!) and interesting jams, chocolates etc. At the back there is a 'Cook' section, from the popular high end ready meal people. My best find so far has been the beer sausages, which were hands down, the best sausages I have ever tasted! The coffee there is superb, even though they don't offer skimmed milk! They sell home made cakes by the slice and it's all very fresh and seems extremely clean. If you're passing, or in Rye or Camber, it is well worth a visit. Last time I was there, there was a 1931 Morris Ten parked in the car park, and the owner was very happy to show my father around it, which made his day. I can't guarantee that will happen when you visit, but they seemed like regulars, and it's just that sort of place.
