I travelled with my son and we felt like being members of the family. We had a gorgeous breakfast in the kitchen with the owners and the room was very clean and spacious. It is ideally situated, being in a quiet rural location on the edge of a small village, yet just two miles from the A55 Expressway and the A5. There is something for everyone within easy reach! A host of outdoor activities can be experienced near Tregarth, from gentle walking to mountaineering and water sports. There are a number of footpaths and cycle tracks on our doorstep. Whether you're on holiday or away on business, we cater for both couples and singles. I'm happy to say we had no regrets! A couple things I'd highlight: -We met one of the owners (Colin, I believe) and he was super welcoming and suggested a great local restaurant around the corner called Watsons Bistro. -The rooms are very tasteful and the beds are comfortable. -The breakfast was tasty and the service was great. -The chapel is really very beautiful/special/fantastic/all the adjectives. -We parked right outside the walls for a cheap price. It was only a few minutes walk. No big deal. Conwy and Snowdonia were our favorite places to visit on our Wales trip, and the Gwynfryn Guest House definitely contributed to that! As of last Sunday 5/20/2017~ish, the new kitchen and breakfast room has been relocated to the old church chapel - it's awesome! So, the room I stayed in was in the "vestry" and was superb! All brand new, clean and cozy - the room was perfect! The ensuite bathroom was very nice (only needed some hand soap.) During my recent trip, I stayed twice, but a week apart...kinda coming and going. Both visits were stellar. Colin was extremely cool and accommodating (only met Monica briefly - she was quite friendly). I'm not sure how soon I'll be back, but I will only stay at Gwynfryn during my next visit to Conwy - it was PERFECT! 5 stars...so SOLID!

Midweek drinking with friends a few weeks back…read more New landlady, very friendly and hospitable Sat on the sofas in the 'lounge' style area, which is great! very cosy, best bits of someones house and the pub.... They just need a real fire rather than a gas one (or even gas looks-like-fire one). Anyhow the ale and wine was good, followed by a nice coffee. All in all very pleasant. No sign of the old space invaders machine which was such a great feature of old.

Gross Groeslon - Terror at the Ty Mawr Tearooms…read more From the churlish male welcome to the black mould, damp, faulty water system and lack of heating, there really isn't anything positive to say about the stay here. In all my extensive international travelling I have never encountered such poor quality accommodation and lack of customer service. Chose not to eat breakfast due to the slovenly arrogant attitude of the male. Also upon returning from one of our days out our window had been left wide open, with all our possessions inside, next to a busy road. We can therefore only assume that any positive reviews are reflective of the accommodation in the main building, and not the chalet type rooms in which we stayed. Payment was made by us for the room as we felt genuinely sympathetic for the female owner of this business who obviously requires both staff and training in people skills.

Hostess did so much to make our stay comfortable, including parking her car out front to stake us a parking space for arrival on a narrow crowded street. Gave us a lot of helpful info on where to eat dinner, visiting the castle that is main attraction, and getting around & into the nearby park. Breakfast was extensive, well prepared & generous. Highly recommended, if/when we return we would definitely stay here again.
