Datcat nephew jr. really is getting a good deal out of me because I'm taking him to all these new…read moreplaces so I can review them. Gloucester folk museum is a bit like the Dr Who Tardis as it looks tiny from outside, but when you go inside there is so much to look at and I was really pleased to see the old spot pig as I can remember that from when I was a small child some 20ish years ago. It isn't like normal museums where everything is in glass cases there are some exhibits you can pick up and play with. Interesting fact about the building is that it was the last place Bishop Hooper (A protestant martyr, see your history books) slept before being burnt at the stake. I and Datcat jr. both loved this place and I have promised to take him and his little sister back when she's old enough. No parking on site, but it's in the city centre so it's easy enough and the gift shop has enough to satisfy even the fussiest collector. No coffee shop, but walk up towards the cross and Cafe Roma is the 1st you'll see.

Throughout your visit there are quite a few films, audio explanations and interactive displays which breaks up standard reading. The cafe is very reasonably priced with teas served in china.

I really liked this, it was informative and brought together a lot of aspects I knew something…read moreabout already, which made it all make sense to me. It does entail a lot of reading though, so may not be too good if you don't learn much just by reading. Or in fact if you've got toddlers or young children. There's a lot of glass (bottles etc) on display so you couldn't really read everything and ensure none get smashed at the same time! For older children there are little quizzes and colour-in pages to keep them interested. The displays are also quite colourful and some are interactive. There is a lot to go through in a small space though and it is well worth a visit. The ticket price includes a self-guided tour and a taste of some of the produce. There is also a gift shop and a café which are reasonably priced.

Just Bouncing were fantastic right from the start. Their communication was great and helped with the hundreds of questions that I had. They also have a bad weather guarantee so if we are having a crappy day (unusual for this country I know), they will give a full refund or the opportunity to rearrange at no extra cost. Very reassuring! Anyway, as it turned out, the weather was amazing for the time of year (feb half term) and our daughter had the time of her life. Thank you just bouncing highly recommended!
