Datcat nephew jr. really is getting a good deal out of me because I'm taking him to all these new places so I can review them. Gloucester folk museum is a bit like the Dr Who Tardis as it looks tiny from outside, but when you go inside there is so much to look at and I was really pleased to see the old spot pig as I can remember that from when I was a small child some 20ish years ago. It isn't like normal museums where everything is in glass cases there are some exhibits you can pick up and play with. Interesting fact about the building is that it was the last place Bishop Hooper (A protestant martyr, see your history books) slept before being burnt at the stake. I and Datcat jr. both loved this place and I have promised to take him and his little sister back when she's old enough.
No parking on site, but it's in the city centre so it's easy enough and the gift shop has enough to satisfy even the fussiest collector. No coffee shop, but walk up towards the cross and Cafe Roma is the 1st you'll see. read more
