This towering art installation joined the Short North community in 2021 and at first, there was a bit of controversy. As someone who lives in this neighborhood, there was a lot of talk about the price, design, etc. Everyone seemed to have an opinion about it.
Flash forward two years later and this piece is now a staple. The meaning behind its inspiration encapsulates Columbus history which is pretty cool. I love how the cutouts all over the giant crystal-like structure move as the sunlight passes over them. At first you don't quite understand what they are but as you look closer you'll notice things like tools, hands and teeth, the shape of Ohio, and many more, what seem to be random designs. They are meant to represent a collection of items created within the Columbus city limits. Pretty creative.
