Thank goodness for Google Image Search because there is no caption here and I don't know who owns the space where this interesting sculpture is located. It is under cover in a small alleyway near an entrance to the building, set back from the street a few meters.
The bronze sculpture depicts an artist walking while carrying a small bowl and inside is a sculptured vase. The artist wears a heavy apron with a few tools tucked into it. The expression on the face is detailed and I would say that the is looking off into the distance. The detail is intense and the accuracy of the face, arms, legs are all excellent. It is 100% scale.
"The Maker" is by artist Simon Carman. The post online reads, "The Maker... She represents all makers, the hard work, perseverance and love of their chosen craft.
"Sculpture artist, Simon Carman, made the Maker at his studio on Crom Estate, West Fermanagh, where he has lived and worked for the last ten years. The sculpture is made of bronze using the lost wax bronze casting process. Simon's sculpture has found her new home at the side entrance of the Courthouse - a truly stunning piece with a beautiful meaning behind it, to help welcome all who visit. The Maker sets the tone of depicting the celebration of contemporary and historical, embodying the values of the Courthouse.
"This is one of four sculptures that was designed and installed in the building, made possible through the project's PEACE IV EU funding."
