Me and my fiance on a bridge in the maze
    Gracee H.

This was a great experience that my fiance and I had in October! We were NOT prepared for the mud, but it was super fun! We got riddles to work with, staff was super nice. They made sure no one got lost in this maze. I don't have a lot to say about this sadly, as it was just a normal corn maze. But I would say it's a fun thing to do with family, friends or partners! I went in a group of 4 total, and we made it kind of competitive! Highly recommend going! The price to do the maze was also not super expensive, not that I can remember. Priceless memories made

We had the absolute best time in the Maize! Upon arrival at the property we were able to find parking with ease. The staff was welcoming and friendly, lots of smiles all around. We went on a Monday afternoon during a break in the rain so the weather was perfection and the crowds were minimal. It was our first time experiencing a corn maze and this place has set the bar! The Maize itself is super clean and the experience of navigating through it was fun and interactive, with cards that have questions to help you find your way. We'll definitely be adding this experience to our annual fall traditions!

Very very fun, we came here for a late in the year fun, and the weather was great. We came through the full maze in about 1 hour, and the kids had a blast. this would be super fun at night, that is for sure. Things to keep in mind... don't look at the map, prepare for mud, look for a groupon (ours came out to about 3 bucks per person!! PRO TIP: Intoxication makes it much better!

This was so much fun! Husband bought tickets online at $8 per person. The maize took us 35 mins to complete. I haven't been to other maizes before but this one was very clean, well thought out and it felt very in order. We didn't go with a big crowd so that made it more enjoyable, otherwise, you see people running and screaming at each other and it gives away the fun as you may find yourself following the voices. This place also has a cafe on-sight, snacks, market, flower picking, animal farm, and the pumpkin area. Lots to see, come prepared to spend a good few hrs here. I would come back here again!

So much fun! The beginning is seemingly easy to figure your way through and then it gets a little tougher once you get to the half way point but if you want to exit at the half way point you can. The second half is harder but oh so worth the challenge. All in all from start to finish it takes roughly 45 minutes give or take. A must for anyone's fall adventure list!

Oh my God, I can 'corn'fidently say that The Maize is worth trying to 'corn'quer this year! Looking over the past five years, this year's maize is definitely one of our favorites! Also, these days, outdoor activities and entertainment are super precious. Check it out before the season ends! Be sure to also take a hay ride and visit the animal barn ... and pick up your pumpkins, decorative gourds, pumpkin spice hard cider, and pies too! It's all a-maize-ing!!!

This is hands down my favorite pumpkin patch/corn maze in the Portland area. I went with my fiancés family during the beginning of October. It was perfect weather. The maze was really fun and well priced $8 for and adult but we were in the maze for an hour. All of the food was delicious and the two gift shops were cute as well.

A seasonal treat! Affordable fun, easy to find and lots of parking! Wear your muck boots even on dry days, as many feet make muddy paths, despite the laying of fresh dry hay. There were several routes, twists & turns and families were playing Marco Polo & exploring all the routes. *Bonus at The Maize is they have markers when you get to the next spot in The Maize and clue cards you can grab before entering the horizon of husks

First corn maze experience for me & my 8 year old. The first half of the maze took us about 45 minutes to get through. According to others in the maze with us, it was the easier half, but it was so much fun! We attempted the second half, but kept getting lost that we ended up back tracking & left it for another day. I highly recommend it for those looking for a fun maze! The paths were clean and wide enough for two. There was great music playing in the background & the owners even provide fun trivia questions to help you through the maze. Highly recommended!

This was fun. I thought there would be a lot more kids but there were a lot of adults doing this too. There are ten points along the way that kind of serve as "markers". If you are just too lost it can't figure it out to the next point, they give you a little card in the beginning that has (very) easy questions based on what number you're at that tells you where to go. In the middle of the maze there is an opportunity to exit if you don't like it, have a little one with an issue or if you would like a break or refreshments. You can get a stamp and re-enter. As you progress it gets harder. We definitely spent the most time at #10. It goes by in about 40 minutes maybe. On your way out (or in for that matter) there's a local produce stand (Bartlett pears only .29 per pound! Green bell peppers a quarter!) and a cute little animal barn. They also do U-Pick depending on the month and they have an espresso stand and a cafe with local ingredients that isn't too heavy on the wallet. Plus there's a kid's area and hay rides. We went on the second Saturday and it was busy, but not crazy busy. As Halloween approaches that might very well change!

The Animal Barn didn't have many animals :(

Maize is fun! If you're in the area, definitely an Oregonian experience. Paths will get muddy if it's been raining. Maze is split into 2 parts. First part was fairly easy, 2nd part was too hard!! Haha. Staff is nice :)

Ask the Community - The Maize at The Pumpkin Patch

Is the a haunted corn maize?

Brooke, We no longer offer a haunted corn maize. Thanks for asking.

    Is the maze still open?

Sorry, we closed on Halloween. See you next September!

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes! We just ask that they are on leash and that you pick up after them. They are not allowed on the hayrides or in the pumpkin patch.

There's something really special about sitting down to a meal under their 500-year-old oak tree, knowing the produce was harvested just hours before you ate it. Chefs Christian and Janelle Ephrem build the menu around whatever's actually ready in the fields that week, and it shows: the food is fresh, seasonal, and clearly made with a lot of care. The long communal tables and family-style service make the whole evening feel relaxed and genuinely joyful rather than fussy. The live music series is just as great. Hearing local and touring artists play outdoors on the farm, with the fields and that huge old oak as the backdrop, is a totally different concert experience than anything you'll get in the city. It's laid-back, beautiful, and makes for a really memorable summer evening. Beyond the dinners and shows, it's clear that there's an incredible amount of love that goes into Topaz: it's a genuinely regenerative, no-spray family farm, with happy animals and welcoming people. Whether you're going for a dinner, a show, or just an afternoon wandering the grounds, Topaz Farm delivers something you won't find anywhere else near Portland. Highly recommend.

I think that entrance also grants you access to a bunch of other activities (corn maze? Seeing the farm animals?) but we came just for the pumpkins. The pumpkin patch itself was good-- there were lots of varietals and we had fun squelching around with our big carts. Pumpkins were 50% off when we came, and two fairly large orange pumpkins, a ghost pumpkin, and a mini came out to ~$20. That wouldn't be bad for just the pumpkins, but because of the entrance fee it felt a little steep. The highlight of our trip was actually the duck they have in the animal section. He was huge! I had a good laugh at the duck, and it was a lot of fun to watch him waddle around. There a plenty of clean porta potties, lots of parking, and the staff were friendly. That said, I would not recommend this place if you are just looking to pick pumpkins. It was not a bad experience, but you can get better bang for your buck elsewhere.

It took my kids AGES to pick their pumpkins out. Ages. But we got gorgeous pumpkins and I grabbed a few of the fancy blue ones for decor. For three "medium" pumpkins and a couple small ones we spent $41!! What value. Where they get you is the corn maze. Skip it!!! If we could have gotten a refund we would have. Trust me when I say BEYOND disappointed. It was muddy. SO muddy. And that could have been remedied with hay on the ground. That would have saved everyone's shoes and cars. And it was $5 per person for a literal circle. It wasn't a maze. It was a circle. That took 5-7 minutes to slowly walk. That was insane. That's where we PAID for the pumpkins. Everything here is pay via Venmo or cash box on the honor system. That's why we paid out the wazoo for the maze. Ugh. How crummy!! (So you HAVE to use Venmo or cash ONLY!) A little bonus was being able to see baby sheepies and the kids loved feeding them corn stalk leaves and watching them. Sheepies!!! There is also a corn maze located toward the back of the property. The maze is a cool attraction but I have to agree with another recent review, it really isn't a maze at all. It truly is a circle or a lap, like taking a lap around the park. It's not challenging or engaging, it's just a muddy lap through the corn field. Spend your time with the sheep and the pumpkins & skip the maze.

There were several activities to do here besides pumpkin picking. The staff was nice as we were greeted with friendly smiles. The admission price is $18 at the entrance. It's $16 online, but you have to reserve a time slot. Children under two years old are free. I don't go to farms regularly so I don't have much to compare to it. We visited on a weekday, which wasn't too busy. It was mainly made up of school field trips. It was an enjoyable fall activity for my toddler. He was too small to fully enjoy the big slides and other playground areas. He still had fun seeing the different types of pumpkins and farm animals that he recognized from his books. He liked running around and going through the tunnels. There was a corn maze and carnival style games without the prizes. There was also a hayride, which you can also use to go to the parking lot. It's not a long walk to the parking lot, but it's good to know it was an option. There's a store if you want a souvenir or some apple cider. I forgot to take photos to post with this review, but I guess we were just caught up in the pumpkin patch fun. There are a few more activities included during the fall season, but most require an additional cost anyway. For example they have pig races and pony rides on the weekends, but the pony rides cost $9. They also have apple and pumpkin cannons, but they cost $5 each. There are some activities only available on weekends, but if you're trying to avoid crowds and go on a weekday, admission costs the same. And on top of all that you still need to buy the pumpkins that you pick out. And you need to buy some pumpkin donuts before you leave (do not miss out on these donuts!) So, while I love this farm, it can turn into quite an expensive day depending on how many people you are coming with and which activities you choose to do.

The farm team clearly takes pride in their work. Come fall, the place becomes something special. There's a pumpkin patch where kids (and grown-ups) can pick out pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, and a corn maze that winds through the fields. I'm not a fan of corn mazes so I skipped out on it. I also loved how the farm keeps things simple and family-focused: a little train ride, farm animals, and open space to just sit and soak it all in. Prices feel really fair for what you're getting.
