This lovely imposing building sitting on top of a hill is a great point on which to view the surrounding Phoenix Park and Dublin city. This fort is a leftover sign of British occupation being built in around 1735. It once also housed guns and ammunition for the IRA around 1916 but now serves no purpose. It is locked up now from the public and I would enjoy having a look around inside but sadly can't do that.
It seems to be a meeting point for energetic sporty people and I regularly run up it with my running group. read more
