The place is extremely clean, and the staff exceptionally friendly. We checked in and a member of the staff explained all the amenities to us. We had a room with 3 tubs for 5 people (2 couples and one solo). The attendant showed us to a locker room (boys and girls are separate), and you are able to leave your clothes and packs in a secure (locked) location, and replace your wardrobe with your swim suit (you are given robes, towels, and sandals. As you enter your room the attendant will have the water running in each of the beautifully crafted wooden barrel-like tubs. The attendant adds beer components like hops to your bath, and the aromas are truly intoxicating. Each tub has a beer tap and mugs, and there is a shelf across the tub to rest your beer. This is a beer lovers paradise as it's your own personal unlimited beer tap with local Czech beer (Pilsner). This was not only relaxing, but it was also a fun friend-bonding experience. We had the room for about an hour, and it was well worth the cost. At the end we were gifted a bomber sized Czech beer for the road. Some Tips: Make sure you come prepared to drink as you have unlimited beer. It is a spa, and the water is warm, so, make sure you are hydrated. There may be a sauna in your room; make sure you don't use it unless you're prepared to pay quite a bit extra. This was not explained to us as we entered the room. Also, you will most likely want to book online and in advance. This is a wonderful experience, and openings fill up quick! **NOTE: this is NOT a tub filled with beer! It is a tub with the components of beer in a relaxing environment (spa) where you can drink as much beer as you like** Again, this was such a great experience, and one of my fondest memories of Prague. After doing some research, I decided to go with Bernard Beer Spa based on the reviews. This location was also within walking distance of our hotel. Appointments were easy to make online. You can either pay up front or just pay when you get there. There's also an option to add on a massage but most people seemed to agree that it wasn't worth the extra money, so I just booked the spa. When we arrived for our appointment, we were taken to a locker room to undress and store our things. We were given sheets to wrap ourselves in and walked to the next room where the tubs were. It was just us two in the room. We had 30 min to spend in the tub and the attendant would only come if we needed something (we were given a bell to ring if we did). The tub is huge! The temperature is pretty hot temperature wise. BF had to get out of the tub for a bit to cool off. There's not really beer in the tub, but more the the ingredients that are in beer that are good for your skin! There's also a tap connected to the tub where you can drink unlimited beer throughout your stay!! I tried to drink as much as I could to get my money's worth LOL but after 3 glasses I was struggling to continue. After the tub is done, we were taken to the next room where we were wrapped and placed on a bed with relaxing music and lights. You can either talk or sleep. After our treatment we were given parting gifts (a certificate and more beer!). They reccomend not showering for 24 hours to allow the good benefits from the spa soak into your skin, but the bits of hops were all in my hair so I had to shower. My boyfriend and I each got 60 minute massages (thai/aromatherapy) and 30 minute facials for under $150 USD I believe. We were in a large spacious room with ambient lighting and the masseuses were well-trained. The facial was not as fancy as the ones here in NY (extractions, steamers, etc), but it was a nice way to replenish the skin after all the foreign water/air/food that had entered our systems. ADD TO CART! It did not disappoint. This was definitely one of the coolest experiences for me. Came here with my boyfriend. Here's how it goes down: It's a small spa - there's one room with 2 baths (each sits 2 people) so make sure you honor your reservation time. You get there and they take you to a locker room where you undress and put away your stuff. You can take your cellphone/camera into the bath area to take photos btw. The locker area also has a shower so you have that option but it's not mandatory. They give you towels, slippers and a sheet to cover yourself while you move to the bath area. You are naked but you can certainly wear a bathing suit if that makes you more comfortable or if you are doing this with a group of friends. Then you go next door to the bath area. We were told it was an 800 year old room! They add hops and yeast to the water (I initially thought I'd be bathing in actual beer which on second thought, is probably not all that great) and you get in. There's a tap attached to the tub and you can drink all the Bernard beer you want! It was so nice and relaxing. The lights were dim, the water jets felt amazing. I didn't want it to end. But we booked a massage so it had to. The water turns off and you ring the bell and the staff member comes to get you. Next, we were taken to a massage area with a heated bed. We were wrapped in blankets, given more beer and had a couple minutes to relax. Then we found out that the massages for 2 that we booked amounted to a total of 40 minutes so we had to split the time somehow. Not how I thought it'd go down but not a huge deal either - still a good deal for what I paid. I must mention that the staff member working (he was incredibly nice) appeared to be the only one there and he did everything - front desk, running the baths, and even the massages. So if you're looking for couples massages, it wouldn't be a side-by-side thing, they don't have the space anyway. The massage was very good - we each did 20 minutes. Afterward, we were given a cute certificate of completion and some free beer to take home. They also had some great gifts available for purchase - beer shampoo and conditioner, beer bath salts, etc. I know they have another location as well - not sure if things function the same way there. Obviously, you can book this experience without a massage. And while the massage was nice, in retrospect, I think I'd prefer a longer bath - it was just that great. This was actually a great deal - I paid $130 for 2 people with massages. Don't forget to tip! MAKE SURE YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS! I made them online before I flew out - you have the option to pre-pay as well. Since it's a one room spa -- don't wait until the last minute! The idea is that you get into a bath of water which has had hops and yeast mixed into it. So you don't bathe in beer, even though this is what I like to tell people. You are furnished with a glass which you can fill up with beer from the tap next to you. You have the room to yourself so for half an hour you just lie back, drink, and feel gloriously happy. The bubbles in the water will stop after 30 minutes which is your signal to get out and go for your massage, if you've chosen this option. As there were two of us and only one person available to do the massage, I got to lie on a heated bed while my boyfriend had a massage. The bed is heated AND you get swaddled in a blanket. "I'm going to wrap you up like a baby" is actually how it was described to me. Awesome. There is some surprisingly non-cringy spa type music playing and there are lots of lights dancing around on the ceiling which are mesmerising. You can also continue drinking beer during this time. The massage was awesome - I'm not sure how to adequately describe or review a massage but it was very enjoyable. Once you've all had your turn at being massaged and being swaddled, you go get your clothes back on - it's recommended that you don't shower otherwise you won't get the purported benefits of the hops/yeast for your skin. Then you get to choose a bottle of beer to take home with you, and you can buy extra bottles of beer and also beer shampoo, shower gel etc. The price for two people including a massage was 3190 CZK which I thought was pretty affordable by UK standards anyway.
