I love my cats. I wanted them to be well taken care of when I left the country for a week, but all…read moreof my reliable friends are allergic to cats, had plans to go out of town at the same time, or were car-less on the other end of the city. After a week of racking my brain for solutions and contemplating my options, I finally decided to ask my boss who she uses for pet-sitting. She recommended Brian from Soundview. She's been using the company's services for YEARS, actually since before the business was turned over to the current owners and she had no qualms about suggesting that I get in touch with them. He's licensed and bonded and her cat actually really likes him. I called Brian and set up a time for him to come over and meet my furry extended family and get an idea of where their supplies were, which one was which, etc. He was friendly, yet professional and the cats seemed to like him, so I felt instantly relieved about their well-being while I was gone. While I was gone, he came every other day to clean the cat-boxes and feed them and make sure that the wily one hadn't shut herself in the bathroom (again). He called me once while I was gone, only because he wasn't sure where our mailbox was (he can also walk your dogs, check your mail, take care of your plants, rotate the lights, and all sorts of other helpful stuff). When I arrived home, there was a little note from him describing the kitty's behavior when he visited and assuring me that all had gone smoothly. The peace of mind was PRICELESS, but he only charges a base rate of $17 a day - it's a bit extra if you need multiple visits daily, but completely worth every penny. P.S. I know he covers the West Seattle and Highland Park areas, but he runs a small business and may not have a huge coverage area.

We paid Brain $190 to do 5 hours worth of yard work. Needless to say he did an ok job but for the…read moremoney I expected more. For the most part he raked leaves, cut a few branches and did a bit of weeding. Needless to say I think that another company could have done more for the same about of money. Plus our neighbors made the comment that they couldn't even tell we had any work done, not good and now we still have more yard work that needs to be done. We'll go with someone else next time.
