I have always dreamt of being a zombie so when I heard that you could be a zombie for a day at London Tombs I just had to be one. Firstly though I had a tour through The London Bridge Experience learning about the history of London Bridge and the great fire. Venturing through this immersive and psychotically attraction I learnt more about John Rennie the man who constructured the London Bridge. Learnt about why heads was show cased on the bridge. As well as murders that took place around London Bridge such as the serial killer Jack the Ripper. It was all well done and the actors played their scenes well. For the second half of the tour it was a walk through the scare mazes of the London Tombs where I came across killer clowns, zombies and other scary things. After it was onto being a zombie for a day where I got transformed into a zombie by one of the staff who applied the FX make-up. After being done up I got to choose from an array of costumes.  Initially I chose a strait-jacket but I quickly changed my mind and changed into a zombie nurse. Later I changed into a clown costume.   It was then onto having a few lessons on how to be a zombie from the screeching like a zombie through to the zombie walk.  After this initial run through it was out to the light for some brains, no sorry I mean lunch. The looks I got from passer bus was hilarious. It was then back into the darkness of the tombs to scare the hordes of people that will be adventuring through the tombs in the afternoon.  I loved learning and discovering everything that goes on behind the scenes of this top horror attraction from the art of scaring people to learning how to be scary. Even though by the end of the day I practically had lost my voice from all the zombie screeching it seriously was an adrenaline filled day and one that I will dream, not have nightmares about for years to come. So if you want to be a zombie for a day then I highly recommend booking to become one and where better than the world's top scariest horror attraction in the world.  They have also won winner of the best guided tour group leisure awards and the UK's winner of the most scariest attraction for over 8 years in a row now. However evening you don't want to be a zombie just adventuring through The London Bridge Experience and A London Tombs is very interesting in itself.

Start of an experience

Amazing experience from start to finish. Staff friendly, polite and couldn't have asked for a better time. Would highly recommend and I won't spoilt it but worth every minute!

The London Bridge Experience offers tourists, and sight-seeing enthusiasts the chance to delve into the historical side of London bridge, from Roman Times to the present day. The whole experiences uses special effects, actors and animation to make you really feel like you are traveling through London Bridge's rich and varied history. It's really designed to make history fun, there are a few creepy / scary moments too (I'm a sucker for this stuff and scare very easily!). My boyfriend was nonplussed! I don't think it's worth spending the money unless you really want a shiny touristic experience of London Bridge. This is really one for a fun, throw-away afternoon out!

So much fun! Laughed and screamed! And learned about the London Bridge! The workers were so good at their characters.

Going through the tombs at the end was a lot of fun and there is definitely a great scare factor.

As an escape room aficionado I had heard about Room Escape Southend, a company that organsises…read morepop-up escape rooms, usually with a horror theme, for a few months at a time before switching to a different theme. We decided to get into the holiday spirit by visiting their 12 Deaths Of Christmas room, themed around a zombie santa. Sounds like creepy good fun, doesn't it? Well, it wasn't. But first things first.  You can buy individual tickets for this, up to 12 people can play. Our group of eight was joined by a family of four. There wasn't much of an introduction, we signed a waiver, were told the basic rules and led into the room very unceremoniously. Basically, Santa has become a zombie but won't chase you as long as he's distracted. You can distract him by either providing energy to the TV to let him watch Christmas shows, or by singing Christmas carols to him. Throughout the game we found fuses, which we could use to either provide 5mins of power to the TV or trade in for a hint. Sounded like a pretty cool idea, but there were quite a few problems with the room. First off, there were way too many people to be comfortable. I'm thinking eight or nine would have been okay, but twelve is just too many. There weren't nearly enough things to do for everyone.  The riddles and clues were quite straight forward and we solved most without a hitch. By the time we got to the last riddle (it was obvious that there were only two steps left to complete the room, for which we first had to open a lock and use what's inside for the last step) we had about 34 minutes left on the clock and no one captured by Santa yet.  We got really stuck on this riddle though, it was a terrible riddle that didn't make much sense, but apart from the there was also no indication of the connection to a number of items in a completely different location. The riddle was painted into a frame which also held the letter combination lock we needed to open. The logical conclusion would have been to get the four-letter combination from the riddle. Not so. There was an extra step that involved items on an unrelated shelf.  We traded our two last fuses for hints, which were completely useless. After that, tue attendant refused to help us in any way. We tried a bunch of random things, including the actual solution as we found out later, but the lock didn't budge; it must have stuck when we tried the correct solution. In the end, we spent 34 minutes making no progress whatsoever with the attendant, who stood right there in the room, refusing to help us unless we handed over another fuse. Which we obviously didn't have. After it was all over and the attendant finally told us what the solution was, we told her that we tried that and it didn't work; a second employee came storming into the room to prove to us that we didn't do it right. He put in the combination, the same we had tried half an hour before, opened the lock and snapped "See! It works! You did it wrong, you were wrong!" in a smug and arrogant manner. We were quite appalled by this treatment, so we simply left and decided we'll never give this company our patronage again. Not only is it terribly unprofessional to let patrons spend half an hour basically doing nothing when you know they had the right solution, far fetched as it may be, and the lock just stuck (whether that was due to our error in not aligning the letters quite right or in the lock sticking doesn't even matter) but we were also shouted at that it couldn't have possibly been a fault in the lock. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from these people, so I'd definitely recommend to avoid this company altogether. I'd give zero stars if that were possible.
