The Apollo Theatre opened on 21 Feb. 1901. The theatre is named after the Greek God of the arts, and was built for theatre productions. It's a beautiful theater in the west end. It's a small theater and all seats are good. The architecture is beautiful. Had tickets to see Time Travelers Wife. Personally, I'd skip the show, but the theater is something special.

I rarely see plays and/or musicals more than once, so it speaks volumes that I'm considering booking another transatlantic flight just to see "2:22 A Ghost Story" a second time. It's currently playing at the Apollo Theater with Sophia Bush as one of the four characters. Two couples at a dinner party debate whether ghosts are real & discuss other big life issues. I was so engrossed in the couples' clever banter & tense moments. I can't say more than this: go see it while you can & be prepared to feel a multitude of emotions. Five stars on the Yelp scale for the play. Four stars for Apollo Theater. Our seats from the fourth row were phenomenal but the seating was a bit tight; I felt I was mere centimeters from the person in front of me. Not too cold inside, as theaters tend to run. Would love to see another play here especially if it's "2:22." Program was £5, I'm used to free Playbills.

Came here to see the Time Travellers Wife which was excellent. Cast was very talented and production was entertaining. Theater is small enough there are probably no issues sitting anywhere in there. Photo is view from my seat.

    Our view from seats E3/4.

Don't bother seeing anything here unless you are in orchestra seating. Managed to get last minute tickets for Fawlty Towers currently playing at this theatre. If one is familiar with the television programme, one realizes that the comedy is very visual. Our seats E3 and E4 were marked as limited view but my husband did not see this message until we had booked them. We arrived and climbed four floors to the top of the theatre. At best we had a view of a quarter of the stage and the top of the performers heads. In fact, a second stage set, depicting a hotel bedroom, was so blocked that we could only see the actors' feet. I left at the interval as it was a complete waste of time to sit there, unable to see the actors and their facial expressions, or indeed, their body movements. Please avoid booking seats in any balcony. You will certainly regret it, as we did.

This is a truly beautiful Victorian theater built in 1901 with incredible details including an amazing painted ceiling. It is appropriately named for the Greek god of the arts We laughed the entire way through the "Peter Pan Goes Wrong" performance, enjoying every second including the craziness before the show even started! As for the seating, while the view was great, the seats were at an odd angle and consequently, were not the most comfortable. Honestly, I don't really expect comfort since I'm 6'5" and apparently, nobody was this tall back when classic theaters were being built. Yes, I drank plenty of milk to get this way and I like it. But, it's definitely worth it to enjoy hilarious performance art!

I saw Madness of King George III here. The show itself was top notch. If you are into old Victorian theatres, you'll dig this place. You know it has history because the first balcony (I was in the front row, stage left) tilts not-so-subtily to the right. One of those things estate agents call 'character'. And this place does have it, as it dates to 1901, so even though by London standards its not that old, it is (but in a good way). The nice thing that this theatre did is that our show wasn't sold out (we had purchased affodable seats on an upper balcony), but they moved everyone forward so that we had better seats since more expensive ones weren't full. A 'free upgrade' if you will. That's pretty cool and I wish more venues did this.

When I decided to see Everybody's Talking About Jamie, I had never heard of it minus the posters all over the city. But this show is amazing. See it while you can. The venue is set up nicely for the show. Even on the side I could see everything well. You won't miss anything from the stalls. And the stage was high so the heads in front of me did not interfere. The men's room was cramped, but that's expected at a theater. The set up for pre orders of drinks looked efficient. Overall I liked this venue a lot. It's not too big either so you're not too far from the performers.

The set. Let the Right One In.

I saw Let the Right One in at The Apollo a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved it. I hadn't seen either movie adaptation or read the book, but I knew the gist of the story. The play was put on by The National Theatre of Scotland and the acting was excellent, I really think the Scottish accents lent a lot to the scenes as well, especially the ones that included Oskar and his bullies. The set design was perfect for the play, and I loved the fact they painted the nighttime sky on the ceiling of the theatre as well. Some of the scenes are pretty brutal and bloody, which is worth noting since the lady sitting next to me appeared to be quite surprised... So many gasps and shrieks... But if you don't mind a bit of shock and gore, I'd definitely recommend you go and see it while it's playing.

In this case, the show aged well, and the props and costumes have clearly had time and money invested as this was the best rendition of Phantom I've seen to date. There was fire, light effects, great structures and hidden trapdoors, fake balconies, even a mysterious Houdini chair (no spoilers) and the production of Phantom here is clearly worth the full house it had tonight. Standing ovation at the end and tons of fun souvenirs to takeaway memories of the show. I sat in A21, center of the front row of balcony, and the view was perfect, showing just the bottom of the stage up. If I leaned forward, I could see into the pit which the ground floor seats could not. All the music was played by the incredible orchestra in the pit, Four private boxes at the front sides were filled with two persons each, which could be a fun return trip. I hope to definitely be back for another viewing some day. Incredible!

I was so excited to be there for one of the previews of 'Other Desert Cities' and curious as to how that would work with the theatre having just been reconfigured to 'in the round'. It actually worked very well, and while we in the upper level, I can imagine it would be particularly interesting to be in the seats that were vitrually part of the set. I think I spied Melvin Bragg Down there. Who-ever it was he seemed to enjoy the show as much as us. OK perhaps it wasn't what I would call must-see theatre but it had a little something for everyone, and despite its dark nature in places, we had plenty of knowing belly laughs too. Since press night its been garnering a solid four stars. Perhaps because the show was in preview we were able to bag reasonably priced tickets at the box office direct. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we popped in the day before to check on availability. If there was a down-side it was that the seats were uncomfortable and the leg room very cramped, and thats coming from someone who is just 5ft & 2 inches! My companion had another foot on me and found the cramped seating a distraction from the show. Perhaps the more expensive seats are more comfortable. Wish everywhere had seats as cosy and roomy as The National Theatre! Conveniently located just along the road from Waterloo station for tube, rail and taxis.

I was tempted to take a photo of the wonderful set but refrained as I know it would be a shame to spoil the pleasant surprise of seeing it for the first time for anyone planning to. Refreshing in its differences to the film and funny both to children and adults alike, Matilda must be a great musical for a family night out in the centre of London.   There's a hint of magic, masterful choreography and well positioned lighting. Plus, there is even entertainment during the interval and they sell slush-puppies! Oh the rottenly devilishly childish brilliance of it all! What more could you ask for do I hear you say? Well it pains me to say that I felt some of the lyrics in the songs got lost in translation and were more complicated that necessary; and the songs perhaps lacked a certain hook. Nevertheless, there were some memorable numbers that were beautifully sung and played. I thought it was a nice touch to see the musicians come up on stage at the end; deservedly so. Truly a joyous show that I would happily recommend to anyone unless they really hated children, because let's face it, the children are the winners in this show; no room for haters (one Ms Trunchbull is enough!)

As for the actual show, I reaaally wanted to love it, but it missed the mark for me in many ways. The mixup of pop songs was gimmicky and didn't always fit the scene. The intro and outro dance numbers were so fun to watch, I was expecting that cabaret style throughout the show, but it didn't deliver. Also, they couldn't pick a better song than Katy Perry's 'firework' for Satine's solo? As far as the theatre experience, I had a seat in the stalls Row G and it was so close to the stage with a great view of the performers. Leg room is a little tight. The bar is just outside and downstairs to the seating area, it has a nice vintage theme to it and a special drink menu for the show. So when they announced an immersive theatre production based on the stories at the Vaults in London, I HAD to go along. Tucked away in the Vaults under Waterloo station, the atmosphere began early as we walked through the graffiti-d tunnel to the entrance. Inside, they had a bar and food area, as well as displays of masks and other creepy paraphernalia to ramp up the excitement factor. After we'd gone through to the main room, we were split into groups and led through a maze of rooms telling Goosebumps stories - but reworked for the adult audience. I don't want to give much away, but I jumped, laughed and screamed plenty throughout. The cast were captivating in their performances, and I was incredibly impressed at the detail and innovative thinking that had gone into the sets. The only downside was 90minutes without being able to go to the loo (especially after a syringe Cosmopolitan cocktail in the waiting area). Oh, and the fact that it ended. I could happily have spent another hour being told the stories (with a loo break, obviously though). It's on until early June, so definitely get your hands on a ticket - it's totally worth it, whether you were a childhood (or adult) fan of the series or not.
