They said they would hold our items for three months and if not collected, they would throw them out. After not recieving any type of email for two months, my boyfriend drove all the way from abbotsford to this shop to pick up the art that we had created as he wanted to surpise me with it. Once he went into the shop, he dicovered that our art was not there anymore, they had lost it or thrown it out. This is so sad as they were a pretty expensive price as well i would say so. I am so dissapointed as this was something very special for us and it has been completely ruined. So i would reccomend you go to a more professional place where they dont throw away your things and actually email you when your art is ready. I would give this a 0 star review if i could.

The ambiance is super cute, with colorful, warm vibes. The music always soothing, and you even get hot tea and Turkish delights in bites. 1) booking has never been easier. We selected the pick you piece on site. So go earlier so you can browse and really find the piece and size you want. 2) go early, so you can start planning what kind of mosaic you plan to design in your platter. 3) be mindful of the time. You get 3 hrs, but the hours go really fast when you're having fun, and you're also new to this. Set some time aside, more than 1 hr, so do the filler beading at the end. My friends and I really pushed the boundaries of time limit and was rushing to finish our beading filler. Still super fun, but super intense thinking we wouldn't finish on time. Definitely would go back and do this again. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The establishment was clean and chic. Please note that this isn't wheel chair friendly and that you will have to go down a bunch of stairs to reach the studio. Price was right! For unlimited glass and beads. And for just the whole experience. Really recommend it! Parking was easy to find outside. Paid meter, bust its only 2 hrs max? So had to go up again to refill.. send a friend up with your receipts so one person can refill all the cars. Or carpool!

Hands down, the best art workshop around!…read more At the Mosaic Art Studio you can make your own traditional Turkish lamp using hand cut mosaic glass and beads. I've never been to a more satisfying art workshop. You start with a specific project in mind (think Candle Holders, or different shapes of lamps... Table, Aladdin, Swan, and Moon lamps). They are all the same difficulty and range in prices from $79-139. In their studio, you spend 3 hours making your lamp, and what may seem like a lot of time, those precious hours will fly by. Their studio, which is just across from Columbia station, is gorgeous! It's decorated with rugs and lamps and intricate Turkish pieces all set to get inspiration from. Each workshop table has an assortment of colorful beads and hand-cut glass pieces. You also get a handy sheet that has examples of designs that you can use for your creation. It's fun getting to design your own lamp. You have the creative freedom to choose the color, shapes and styles, or you can even wing it. Whatever you choose, it will come out perfectly following their instruction on what to do. Once you're finished making your glass bowl insert, the studio takes two weeks to seal it to preserve your design. You'll receive an email when it's ready to collect. And at home, you can marvel in awe of what you created. I've also booked the team here for an in-office team-building group workshop, and they were fantastic. They set up everything similar to their studio and even played the traditional Turkish music. The instruction was clear and they had plenty of their friends to help on a one-on-one basis if anyone needed help or advice. The team here make it a really seamless process and I couldn't recommend them enough! Come to their beautiful studio or book them for an event, either way, it's a fun time creating your own Turkish mosaic lamp!

I would never bring my kid here again…read more I bought a 1 hr drop in session through livingsocial and I thought it would be fun for my 4-year-old. Since it was advertised as a class, I imagined there would be activities or enough supervision to satisfy a child for one hour. NOOOOOOO... they basically gave us one piece of paper and paint, then go ahead, do your thing kid. No instructions, no activities, no prompts. For extra paper or canvas you have to pay extra. That didn't make sense to me. If you were to advertise it as a one hour class, then it's a one hour class. Enough activities to fill up an hour. If it is an art session for one painting, then it's a session with supplies included for ONE painting. That wasn't the worst thing though. We came back earlier than the one hour mark to check up on my girl. We found her wandering around the foyer area with absolutely no supervision. It was a completely open area from the back to the front so any child can just wander off, or worse, any person can walk in and just grab a child. Their staff should have done something to keep her inside. Scrap paper, crayons, play dough, ANYTHING. And for that matter, even if they couldn't handle her, ISN'T THAT WHY WE LEFT THEM TWO CELL PHONE NUMBERS?!?!! When we picked her up, no one noticed, no one acknowledged us. If I were a kidnapper, Kidoodles is the place to go. That was completely unacceptable and the staff were completely irresponsible. NEVER again.

I wanted to give it another try and I was lucky this time around with Carley at SewGood. I was looking for a sewing class in my area, and SewGood fit the bill. On top of that, her website is very well made, and filled me with confidence when deciding to take one of her classes. I once again chose the absolute beginner class, "level 1" not wanting to skip ahead and then realizing I've forgotten how to do a proper something or other. In this class, we learned how to make an elastic waist band skirt over the duration of four, three hour classes. Carley is an excellent teacher, very warm and welcoming, and definitely knows her stuff. She made learning easy for myself and for the absolute beginners in the class as well. Her work space is perfect, suited for four people (the max class size) and stocked with everything you could possibly need (including some warm tea when you're in the mood!). Initially, I had some misgivings about the project itself, not being much of a skirt-wearer, but happy that at least it wasn't pyjamas. However, the skirt has turned out very nicely, and Carley helped all of us make certain alterations to each of our patterns (particularly in the length department). The end result is a skirt I will actually wear our in public! I took it home last night after our last class, paired it with a cute brightly colored top and a wide belt (admittedly, the elastic waist band is a little juvenile if you tuck your shirt in and go as is) and it looks like a nice, store bought skirt. I'm definitely looking forward to signing up for Carley's next class, Level 2, where we learn how to make a more fitted pencil skirt. She has so many project ideas and is open to suggestions if there is enough interest. For the beginner, intermediate or experienced sewer, I would definitely recommend Carley's Sew Good classes.

Carley is an excellent teacher and such a friendly welcoming person. In her beginner classes Carley makes sure you know the basics including how to take body measurements, how to use a commercial pattern, information about different types of fabrics and how to choose the appropriate one as well as how to lay out and cut your fabric. She also ensures that you are knowledgeable about the basics of a sewing machine and how to use certain tools. Carley is willing to answer any questions you have along the way and she is very helpful in doing so. Once you have taken a few of her classes you will have learned anything you will ever need to know about sewing, allowing you to produce your own garments at home! With Carley's help I have built a successful portfolio and have been accepted into Kwantlen's program. I sincerely recommend Carley at SewGood if you are interested in learning to sew!
