Not a place for loved ones, poor staffing, patient neglect, people laying in their own waste, food is atrocious, rehabilitation folks never seem to be around. Dignity is a loss in here. Basically necessity aren't even met, pee pads, adult diapers. read more

The care is very good at the Lodge! The food has high points and low points. The place in general needs a little TLC. Nothing a bathroom overhaul, and many 5 gallon buckets wouldn't heal. I would go back there. read more

The worst experience ever. No help, patients laying in their beds without being changed or checked upon for several hours at a time. I truly believe my father would have died there if we let him stay. He got a horrible rash from not being changed. He was supposed to be on a thickened liquid diet, which was overlooked. Meals dropped off quickly without being cut up or placed within reach of the patient. A woman across the hallway fell out of her wheelchair and laid on the floor unable to get up for who knows how long. I discovered her as I was, once again, trying to get help for my dad at the front desk as they never responded to the call button. I mean NEVER responded to the call button, even with family there!! HORRIBLE Do not let anyone you love go to this facility. read more

The Lodge at Taylor have very caring staff. The facility is always very clean. It is a great place to work.

What a horrible experience my husband had at this facility. If I would have understood before he was admitted, the rebranding of this facility from MediLodge of Taylor to The Lodge at Taylor, I don't think my husband would have ended up here. As it was, I was able to have him transferred to another facility where they know how to take care of their patients. I'll give you the highlights of my husband's stay. Please note that do to a positive Covid test in the facility, I was not allowed to visit my husband. -- My husband, J was admitted to The Lodge for rehabilitation by 2pm on a Monday. He did not receive any of his prescribed medications Monday night because he wasn't there early enough for them to be him ordered. This is ridiculous, he was there by 2 pm! -- Monday night, his first night in the facility, my husband wasn't able to reach the urinal and could not walk to the bathroom. He pushed the call button to receive some help. There was no response for the entire night. As a result he was forced to lay in his urine soaked sheets all night. -- A doctor, came in Tuesday morning to perform an exam as J was admitted the day before. As he observed J's situation, laying in dirty urine soaked sheets, the doctor said he would get J some help and then be back later for the exam. He never came back. -- An aid came in to get J out of bed and cleaned up. She got him in a wheelchair and rolled him to the sink so he could clean himself up. There was no soap so the aid said she'd be right back with some. If 'right back' means hours later, then yes, she came 'right back'. -- J was there during the hottest week of this year. There was no air conditioning in the part of the facility he was staying in - none! There were no fans or any other way for J to cool down during a week when temperatures were in the high 80's, low 90's. When I called the facility to find out what was going on, the person who answered my call said he had no idea what was going on, but it was very cool where he was, almost too cool. Nice... --- The third night there J only received one of his evening pills. There should have been at least 2 or 3 more. He was told they 'ran out'. They ran out of the medication that was prescribed specifically for him. After the issues mentioned above and more that I haven't added, I was determined to find a different facility for J and I did. Some roadblocks were put in place by the facility to make this transfer more difficult than it already was considering I needed to work with his insurance company, doctor and discharging hospital to make this move happen, but with help from the accepting facility we were able to get past all of them. I was never so happy so see a building in my rear view mirror as I was the day I picked J up. J had only been there 4 days/three nights and during that time I made phone calls to the facility to try to get him help, but his situation didn't improve. I knew that any more nights in there would have been very bad for him. In the middle of J's nightmare stay, there was a nurse that was especially helpful and caring. Unfortunately she was beyond over worked and therefore not always able to care for her patients the way she would have liked. She was a light for Jim during a very bad time and he appreciated her care. Unfortunately Jim can't remember her name or I would leave it here. I just hope she knows how special she is. I know this is a long review, but I didn't want to just leave a 'the care here is terrible' comment and leave it at that. I think it's important to know that in almost every aspect of care, this place let their patient down. J has an advocate who will always fight for him so that he can receive the best care possible, with the understanding that no place is perfect. My concern is for those people who don't have an advocate and somehow land in this facility? What happens to them? Who cares about them? This place is horrific. They don't care about your loved ones. They leave them in soiled briefs. Don't do any rehab even tho your family is in rehab mom stayed in bed 6 days now has been sores. The falsified my moms blood sugars and never gave her insulin. Tried more than once to give her her daily meds twice a day Including blood pressure heart meds and blood thinners. My mom was worse coming out of there then when she went in. The place is deplorable. The director makes excuses for everyone in that dump. DO NOT AEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE NO MATTER WHAT. read more

This place is a death sentence of the loneliest kind. University of Michigan should immediately remove their relationship with this center. When your loved one is gravely ill they should have the decency to contact you or at least return a phone call. It should never be over a week of no contact, let alone when they should be keeping you abreast of dire situations. read more
