More often than not our clients will request to stay outside of Los Angeles, and many enjoy staying in Solvang or Santa Barbara. I was very cautious about contacting this company after reading one of the previous reviews posted here, but there are not many options in the Solvang area for this type of service and I had a client who had her heart set on Solvang. I am happy to say that my client had an amazing experience with this company. She brought her two boys with her, who were in the care of this company for two full days. After returning home she sent me an email thanking me for making sure her boys were so well taken care of. Very easy booking and two very nice sitters were sent to take care of my son intermittently throughout a week of a conference hosted by the Santa Barbara Hilton. They took him outside to playgrounds, downtown and the Sea center. Would use them again and recommend them. read more

This service is absolutely amazing. Debbie was so easy to work with and meet our needs for such an important day. We used The Little Guest to babysit 6 little tykes who were a part of our wedding at the 1880 Union Hotel in Los Alamos and it was all just so wonderful. We reserved two sitters for 4 hours who came to the 1880 Union Hotel and watched the kids after the ceremony upstairs from 4:30-8:30 pm. It all worked out so perfectly, the kids and parents loved the service, and we will most definitely use them again when we find ourselves back up there. read more

I recently (September 2017) made a trip to Santa Ynez with my family. We were going for a wedding and needed child care for my 10 month old son and my 10 month old niece for 3 nights in a row. In early July I contacted The Little Guest and Debbie, the owner, said she would personally be taking care of our children and there was no problem with her watching 2 children at once. This is what she said her experience was "My experience dates back many decades with certification in college of Early Childhood Studies, preschool owner, home daycare provider, nanny for 20 years and currently CPR certified and owner of the the Little Guest." I confirmed our plans several times with her and she confirmed back, but when we arrived in LA on Sept 7th, I had an email from her saying she wouldn't be able to watch our kids anymore but would send her "expert assistant". I called to ask about this woman's qualifications. Turns our she only had 8 months experience as a professional sitter. Debbie said she had raised 2 kids (but that does not count as professional experience). We scrambled to look for other options but couldn't find anything. Debbie said she would come the first night and walk her expert assistant through the ropes. This was not but not the most helpful since the first night the babies were going to be asleep before they were to arrive. For the night that we needed the babies to be fed, bathed, and put to sleep, I asked Debbie if the had a second person that could come help her expert assistant. She said she had a 25 year old that could come. This is already really long but the highlights are that the person she sent was not qualified to watch two 10 month old babies and she wasn't CPR certified (something I was shocked to learn as she was employed by a child care agency). The 25 year old that came with her on the night of the wedding turned out to be 15 years old. This was also shocking as I wouldn't have chosen to leave my baby is a fifteen year old - especially when the care included feeding them dinner, giving them a bath, and doing their nighttime routine. She isn't even old enough to drive. To top this off, when I got the bill I was charged an extra $100 for the 15 year old who had come. Debbie did take that charge off when I called out that I only needed a second person because she had bailed on me and left me with someone completely unqualified. This was a terrible experience and I am grateful nothing went wrong and that both our children ended up being safe, but I would caution against using an agency that doesn't have qualified people available as contingencies. I think it's fair to note however that Debbie was incredibly kind and our conversations throughout this process. I yes wish I had had more confidence in the substitute sitters she provided. read more

At the eleventh hour we found out that one of our guests was bringing their child to our wedding. We were a bit concerned due to the fact that many wineries in Santa Ynez Valley do not allow children without professional childcare. We live in Colorado and didn't even know where to start looking. One of the vendors I was working with referred me to "The Little Guest." I called Debbie immediately and she was able to assure me that the appropriate child care services would be provided (even with such short notice)! Do not use this service!! I regret leaving my kids with these people. First of all, we went through 3 sitters to find one that would work and we gave a lot of advance notice. We did get to talk to them in advance, which was nice. But they refused to allow a nanny cam in the hotel room - which is a little shady. We had a girl named Nicole (?) and she was a college student who basically brought all her books and put my kids in front of movies for the 3 hours that they were awake. Additionally, about an hour after we left I got a call in the middle of the wedding that we were at from her that our 18 month old had been crying for an hour and what was she to do? AN HOUR!!!! What's worse that she waited an hour or that she couldn't get him to stop screaming his head off. Terrible Service and the only one in the area, sadly. I expect more for $25/hour! read more
