Lorrelie, Mr. J, Miss Jolina and the entire staff are just absolutely wonderful. They love and care about every child in their school and are constantly providing new fun ways to learn and engage. I am blown away when my toddlers come home and know not just their colors but their colors in English and spanish, or when they learn all about the food pyramid and healthy nutrition, or how to paint laying down like Michelangelo, or all of the fun things they learn through their "science experiments".... I could obviously go on and on. This school focuses on letting kids be kids and loving them for who they are. If you care about your child having a well rounded PreK experience that is family oriented, communicative, caring, trustworthy and truly cares about community this is hands down your best option in Lyndhurst...we tried other schools and looked at other options and I feel so blessed that this is where we ended up. I will never be able to thank Ms. Lore and Mr. J enough for what they have done for my kids. My son was developmentally behind when starting here two years ago and this staff has been so inclusive, understanding and his biggest cheerleaders in all the progress he has made. Because of this environment he will be heading to kindergarten next year light years beyond where we ever could've hoped and with the confidence to continue to thrive and develop in an neurotypical environment! I want to share my experience…read more... If you are a working family, especially a working mother this is NOT the place for you. Be prepared to pay over $300 and then take care of your child for weeks. Be prepared to take off lots of days. Between my husband and I, we took about 10 sick days in a span of 2 months. I would say 2 of those days were essential and I understood that my son had to stay home. They made me feel as if I was incapable of taking care of my child, or that I did not have the best interest in my child, and that I was lying just to take him to school. The director told me, "had a teacher not told you that your son had a bad cough, you probably wouldn't have done anything about it." Take this as you will, but to me this was such an insult to my capacity as a mother. My son entered when he was 6 months old, and I understood that he was going to get sick because it was his first daycare and also his older sister started 3K. I was called to pick up my son early due to a nasty cough. I completely understood why I had to get him and I brought him immediately to the doctor. The doctor reassured me that it was just a viral infection and that within 2 days he should be fine to go back to school. I even got him tested for Covd (he was negative). The daycare wanted to know exactly what he had (even though that violated our HIPPA rights). So I took him to another doctor for another opinion, she said the same thing. That it is difficult to know what exactly a baby this young has but that as long as he tested negative for covid and isn't having a fever he should be able to go to school. Not only did I have to provide a doctor's note, I also called the manager while I was at the doctor's office so that they could believe me. My son got sick again (not surprising). I did the same steps as before, took him to the doctor and got him tested for RSV, Flu. and Covid. He was tested positive for RSV. The doctor ressaured me that within 5 days he could go back to school. I kept him home an extra day just to be safe for him and everyone else. The doctor also reassured me that his cough would linger for weeks. So sure enough, I provide a note stating that he is negative for Covid and the return date. This again is not enough. They want to know the exact diagnosis and they said that they do not want any symptoms. But they also attempted to be helpful by saying that they will work with me only if his cough wasn't so alarming or consistent (very subjective). Then they started complaining about his loose stool. He is 6 months old. All he has is formula and purees. Plus he is teething. It is very normal (and again I took him to the doctor to reassure me that this was normal), for babies to get loose, sometimes very loose stools. I know I am his mother. But my son truly is the easiest calmest baby. I don't know if it was something against him or us. But it was clear to us, my doctor, and any other friends that I spoke to about this, that they wanted us out. My son was always happy when I took him and when we picked him up. The app is great and they will inform you of feedings and sleep. They will occasionally send you 1 picture a day. Sometimes they would send 2 other days they sent nothing. But the consistent witch hunt to find something wrong with my son was disturbing. He is now at a different daycare. They love him, I get multiple pictures a day, and no complaints!!!! Last time they called me during work, was to ask me what puree they can buy for my son! I had brought him when he still had his lingering cough. I explained to them what the doctor said and offered a note stating that he was no longer contagious and they completely understood.

My 3 year old attended as a 3k student in which the love, warmth, and guidance he received from Ms. Michelle and Ms. Galilea was unparalleled. He was challenged with new letters, engaged in fun arts projects, and was frequently brought outside with his friends. My 6 month year old received above and beyond attention and care from Ms. Jo-ann, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Karina, and Ms. Esther. When he left they created a book to remember TLE by--and weeks later when we would say Ms. Esthers name he would smile and make noises! All the teachers knew both my boys personally and would communicate daily about their milestones. The admin team at the time of Ms. Erica and Mr. Richard were also phenomenal. They communicated effectively, and despite running a school with so many young people, knew my boys well! TLE felt like a home away from home. We had traveled to the daycare/3K site and only left to be closer to home and have less of a commute. If you are in the LIC area, I cannot recommend both the care and educational experience of the Learning Experience!

Our first stayed through pre-k, the second stopped only because of the free local 3k, and our third is still happily enrolled. We've trusted this school for over 5 years with our 3 children, and have looked forward to sending each of our kids here. The admins are responsive, the teachers, for the most part, seem to love children and their jobs (we've had one over the years that wasn't great, but she is gone now). Many of the current teachers are the same as when my son started over 5 years ago. There is always strong communication throughout the day, they regularly post eating/sleeping/potty events as well as photos and videos so we can always see how our kids are doing. They eat healthy food and are given a wide variety of fun activities. As infants they help them learn to sit, walk, fine motor skills, even potty train them. As they grow older there is an academic schedule to help them learn their letters, counting, colors, etc. One of my sons went through a hitting phase, and the admins and his teachers sat with us to give us tools to help him, and made sure he wasn't endangering others in the class. When I bring my two older kids in to pick up the youngest, all the teachers remember them and there's always plenty of smiles and hugs. They do follow the DOE schedule, so are closed more often than I'd like (yeah, its annoying), but its worth it for the quality of care at a reasonable cost. As other reviewers have noted, Covid was not easy, especially on daycares. Yes, dropoff/pickup was inconvenient, yes it was hard to plan around cases shutting down classrooms, and yes it took a hit on morale and staff turnover, BUT these are all a direct result of them taking precaution and carefully following safety guidelines. I'm happy to say that none of my children got covid while at BKA, and I thank their thoroughness for this (these were pre-vaccine days, it was scary!). For the most part, all is back to normal now. I get that there's always an exception and some reviewers have had bad experiences, but we absolutely adore BKA, and most the parents we chat with do as well. It is a loving, caring, clean daycare (with outdoor space!) that we couldn't recommend more.

His very 1st day my son was sent home in a soggy diaper, wet clothes, and shoes on the wrong feet. I informed the school of various triggers, and habits. This was completely ignored and he would come home completely distressed everyday. My son also has a texture issue so he is very selective with foods. The school had me supply his food/milk/snacks/diapers/wipes ect. and pay over $300 weekly. The entire time my son was there they allowed him to do whatever he wanted. He rarely engaged in class routine and wasnt encouraged to do so either. There was nobody there knowledgeable about his diagnosis thus making it impossible for anyone to work with him. I have since pulled my son out of school and have been home schooling him. In the 5months since we started my son says words can identify numbers and some colors and has been open to other foods.
