Last Saturday I drove down to Ocean Drive, intent on "shopping small". My 1st stop was The Beach Shop. I was very disappointed to see that NONE of the employees wearing masks! One young employee followed me upstairs to the sale room & literally hovered over me - maskless - as I browsed the racks of sale clothing. Do these people not know there's a pandemic going on? I'm in the age group that's at risk if I get covid-19, & my husband has underlying health issues. So I won't be shopping at The Beach Shop this season unless their employees start wearing masks & practice Social Distancing.

In the same plaza as Threads is the Antique Workshop and Estate Sales of Vero Beach. There is some parking in front of the building but also in a gravel lot on the side. This cute boutique is actually quite large and has two rooms selling gently used, name brand clothes and accessories from Tory Burch, Louis Vuitton, Johnny Was, and Lilly Pulitzer to name a few. I especially loved the colorful Lily Pulitzer dresses. They have a sale system where one star is 25 percent off and 2 star is 50 percent off. Since this is consignment expect higher prices than say a thrift store but still discounted off of retail price. Note that all sales are final, no exceptions. Unfortunately I came in 15 minutes before closing and they sure let me know it. Perhaps if I find myself in the area again I'll come back (earlier).

The girl that was working was nice, the shop is clean and doesn't have that thrift store smell which is awesome. I also bought a bracelet and the bonus was it was 25% off $44. Probably still overpaid, but it looks great on my wrist.

The place was a clean and neat and bursting with lovely items. they had shoes and pocketbooks set up by color which was visually pleasing around the store. the staff was friendly. I ended up purchasing some Kate Spade jewelry. If I'm ever in Vero again...I would definitely go back.
