Last Saturday I drove down to Ocean Drive, intent on "shopping small". My 1st stop was The Beach Shop. I was very disappointed to see that NONE of the employees wearing masks! One young employee followed me upstairs to the sale room & literally hovered over me - maskless - as I browsed the racks of sale clothing. Do these people not know there's a pandemic going on? I'm in the age group that's at risk if I get covid-19, & my husband has underlying health issues. So I won't be shopping at The Beach Shop this season unless their employees start wearing masks & practice Social Distancing.

The store was totally empty when I arrived mid-day, but most of the other stores were quiet too I didn't buy anything, but I really liked the sports themed purses and accessories. They had some really cute New York Yankees items. I see that they also carry Longchamp style bags, which is nylon style tote. Some of the items here looked kind of dated, the multi-colored items were very circa 2002. I spotted one table with clearance of up to 70% off as well.

In 2006 they became the first no kill shelter in Indian River County and since that time over 20,000 pets have been saved. In 2015 H.A.L.O. opened H.A.L.O.'s Rescued Treasures with all proceeds going to help the animals. This thrift store has several rooms of gently used home goods, toys, clothing, accessories, holiday decorations, linens, pet supplies, and more. Everything I saw was well priced and additional sales during my visit offered an extra 20 percent off handbags and wallets and 20 percent of pants, shorts, and skirts. A sign requesting people to remain dressed in the clothing room cracked me up. Know you are on camera so keep those clothes on. It is not a dressing room.
