Where do I begin?
At first glance, The Lash Studio looks like an amazing place. The front room presents nicely although there are a lot of nic-nacs everywhere. The lady who let me in had no idea what my booking was for and her ipad had ran out of battery so I was asked to take a seat.
I waited for a long time. Finally, 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment I was asked to come in to the back area.
Now this is the first time I have been to this place so I wasn't sure what to expect. Little did I know that the treatment room is TINY! The name Lash Studio is spot on- it's a pokey little studio the size of a store room.
Some how the owner has managed to squeeze two therapy beds, a chair AND spray tan screens in to this one teeny weeny little room where everyone is literally falling all over each other. I don't know about other people but I sure as hell like to have a little privacy when receiving a treatment. I mean, I could literally reach my arm to one side and grab the other customer lying next to me if I wanted to.
I was asked to lay on one of the beds and right behind my head was an ipod dock which was blaring out the most hideous techno/dance music I have ever heard- not at all a relaxing experience.
As my eyebrows were being tinted, the owner kept interrupting the technician about stock they needed to order, issues with another staff member and other issues that could have at least waited until there were no customers around- not at all professional. All the while, the technician kept becoming more and more distracted whilst tinting my eyebrows. As a result, my two eyebrows ended up different colours.
After years and years of having my eyebrows waxed, I can honestly say that this was the most painful experience I have encountered and while I liked the shape of my brows, I didn't receive the full treatment I paid for.
I was supposed to receive semi-permanent makeup but it never happened.
So in the end, I paid a WHOPPING $65 for a dodgy job at a dodgy place and after walking around Newtown for an hour afterward wondering why the hell people were looking at me funny I realised she had left wax all over my face.
I will never be going here again, it was a horrible experience. read more
